Pelo fato de ser um serviço relativamente recente, são poucos os estudos que abordam de modo geral todos os fatores que influenciam no seu desempenho e como tais fatores estão inter-relacionados. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho é abordar o problema de desempenho na Web como um todo, levantando e analisando todos os componentes relacionados, fornecendo embasamento teórico para o entendimento desses tópicos e apresentando suas possíveis soluções, de forma a cobrir esta lacuna na bibliografia existente. Em especial, se concentra em tópicos de software na porção servidora de sistemas de grande demanda. Como resultado, o leitor encontrará um texto único na otimização servidores de grande porte, que é um trabalho de referência e ao mesmo tempo um guia de otimização / Abstract: With the Web explosive growth, its popularization and its great importance as a way of global communication, more and more attention is devoted to its performance issues. Due to the Web being a relatively new service, very few works approach the issue of performance affecting factors in a broad sense, as well as their inter-relationship. The goal of this work is to fill that gap by enumerating and analyzing every component that affects Web performance. This is done by covering theoretical issues for a clear understanding of all topics involved and by presenting possible solutions and suggestions. The main focus of this work is on the server portion of high performance systems. As a result, the reader will find a unique text on optimizing performance of very large Web sites, that is both a reference work and a tuning guide / Mestrado / Mestre em Ciência da Computação

Master thesis involves the development of quality measurement issues and performance parameters in data networks. It describes the main technologies as they affect the quality and performance parameters and the effect of these parameters for voice, video and data services. Next are listed some methods for measuring parameters of the data network.In the practical part is selected one method of measuring network parameters and properties of this method are demonstrated by illustrative examples.

The dissertation deals with a design of an intelligent transmitter of a standard current signal with an Ethernet output port, an implementation of a web interface and Modbus TCP protocol for providing data protection. The introductory part describes standardized analogue technical signals with their possibilities, and characteristics of industrial Ethernet. The subsequent part provides an overview of alternatives to connect analogue signals to Ethernet while using various modules. The thesis continues with a suggestion of an analogue input side of the transmitter in connection with a digital module of Ethernet based on the Rabbit processor in connection with the RCM3200 module. The key part of the dissertation puts forward a proposal of the firmware transmitter and control web interface, shows ways of providing figures measured by the current loop via Ethernet interface for further processing. The final part is devoted to a description of current transmitter ultimate measurement.

This thesis deals with methods of remote maintenance of microcontroller systems based on Atmel AVR family over the Ethernet interface and TCP/IP protocols. To create communication through TCP/IP, an embedded server NE-4100T is used. At the beginning, key features of the server and methods of handling with content of a program memory are discussed. The final solution is based on the bootloader method. It includes bootloader firmware and user program for PC. The hardware part covers design of interconnection electronics, DC-DC step down converter, real time clock and printed circuit board. The remote maintenance of program memory has been sucessfully solved, but the embedded server NE-4100T produces a problem with an auhentification without a sufficient solution.

The aim of Master thesis "Control and monitoring unit for optical link station" is a web server, enabling communication microcontroller with the user. The communication is based on TCP/IP model. Work an overview of the various parts of the TCP/IP model. The main part of this work is devoted to the software created. The core of unit are microcontroller C8051F120 and ethernet controller CP2200 made by Silicon Laboratories.

This work explores possibilities of Car2Car and Car2X communication. It contains survey of system properties, types of transmission messages, etc. It represents architecture of the system and deals with technical expectations and limitations of system. In the light of the fact that this work is created in the time, when development of this system hasn’t finished yet, the work doesn’t contain details which would allow deeper technical view about area of vehicular communication. The work also deals with the possibility of realization of device, communicating with a similar standard. Like the most suitable standard was chosen an IEEE 802.11a. Mobile unit has been realized by single board computer Mini 2440 and communication has been realized by WiFi module OWS451i, which works as AT modem. Mini 2440 and infrastructure server are based on Linux operation system.

The purpose of this master's thesis is creation of a system capable of sharing scanners over computer network. The target scanner interfaces are TWAIN and WIA on Microsoft Windows operating system, and SANE on GNU/Linux. C++ programming language, Boost libraries and Qt framework were used to implement the programming part of this work. Several smaller helper libraries were implemented that are useful even outside this work, most notably TWAIN++ framework. The resulting system enables the user to share scanners over network, and scan using any of the aforementioned interfaces.

Master’s thesis discusses the design and implementation of network infrastructure for computer laboratory in Department of Communications. Thesis focuses on VLAN definitions and deployment of server virtualization, including network monitoring station.
