Rosângela de Oliveira Cosme 30 April 2010 (has links)
This dissertation aims to analyze requirements of SIGA-ADM (Academic Information and Management System) in University Hospital of Federal University of Juiz de Fora (HU-UFJF). It has been used since 2007 at UFJF. For an effective applicability within the HU-UFJF, it was necessary to inquire into the work processes within the HU and do an action of enhancing these processes. It was relevant to avoid incorporation of information that does not match reality. A development of user requirements for the adequacy intended to be an instrument of intermediation for discussion about the development of SIGA- Adm for HU/UFJF. Use of Methodology for Analysis and Process Improvement - MAMP - in the supply chain of HU during 2004 / 2005, allowed to observe the requirements of users. A monitoring of material management is a strategy used by the Sentinel Network for the development of post-marketing actions of health products such as research use, product registration, withdrawal of product from the market and so on. University Hospital of UFJF is a member of the Brazilian Network of Sentinel Hospitals, implemented by the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency, since 2001. Shares of post-marketing products for health (in Technical surveillance) are shared by members of the ANVISA and the Sentinel Network through information on technical defects and / or adverse events that may cause harm to the population. As a result it is observed that SIGA-Adm can store information about products that allow tracking in normal and / or abnormal use by the institution and this contributes to the Technical surveillance exercise. Moreover, it is expected that construction of SIGA-Adm/HUUFJF be integrated into existing systems at UH.

Aplikace dílčích součinitelů spolehlivosti při hodnocení bezpečnosti vodních děl / Application of partial reliability factors for safety assessment of dams

Szarowski, Marcin January 2018 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with an application of partial reliability coefficients of reliability in assessing the safety of water works. The reliability factors are the quantitative condition of the marginal equilibrium. A more detailed study of the methods of the marginal equilibrium method led to an assessment of the overall and local stability of the Vranov Dam. The baseline for the evaluation were the data provided by the Technical Surveillance (TBD) and available literature. The GeoStudio 2018 was used to calculate the loads on the Vranov waterworks. The model of the groundwater flow in the subsoil was calculated by the Seep/W module and the Sigma/W module was used to determine the local stresses. Subsequently, the selection of partial reliability coefficients and theirs subsequent application to the limit equilibrium conditions were performed. Stability assessments were complemented by calculations of safety factors. The results were compared with each other.

The use of physical surveillance in forensic investigation

Knoesen, Andre Leon 11 1900 (has links)
The problem that was identified is that physical surveillance is not generally used by general detectives in the South African Police Service as a technique during their investigations. According to the researcher’s experience, this can be due to lack of understanding or experience or may stem from ignorance. A lack of training on the use of physical surveillance as a method to obtain information for the investigation process was also identified as a problem. This study therefore investigated the role and use of physical surveillance within the forensic investigation process. The focus of the research was on basic static (stationary), foot and vehicle surveillance as these types of surveillance are usually conducted in conjunction with each other. An empirical research design was used to conduct the research. A qualitative research approach enabled the researcher to obtain first-hand information from interviews with general detectives. Information was also obtained from a thorough literature study and from the researcher’s own experience on the topic. To conduct effective investigation, it is important for investigators to be familiar with the concept of physical surveillance, its elements, its influence and its values. A physical surveillance operation is a forensic tool used to gather evidence, to recover stolen property, and to identify and arrest the perpetrator. The use of physical surveillance during investigations serves the purpose of gathering evidence and information that can be used as intelligence. Successful forensic investigation requires skill and places extraordinary demands on detectives to utilise all available methods and techniques. The recognition of the use of physical surveillance as a method of evidence gathering is of outmost importance. The research has revealed that general detectives do not acknowledge the importance of physical surveillance as a method to obtain information for the investigation process. It is of vital importance that all detectives be properly trained with the necessary knowledge and skills to make use of this valuable investigative tool. / Police Practice / M. Tech. / The suture threads are considered invasive medical products used for approximation of biological tissue and, due to contact with the skin, vasculature and other tissues, are considered a critical product. This paper proposes an evaluation of one of the wires with the largest number of technical complaints notified to ANVISA, the suture of polypropylene, which is used in various surgical procedures which require inert mechanical support to the tissue and thus a substantive assessment of the nature physical chemistry of the material used in commercial samples is important to guide a process of health certification in order to minimize the risk to patients. The polypropylene suture was used as the analysis model, being selected the surgical wire number 0 (zero) to 75cm long; 4 samples of polypropylene sutures were selected according to the pattern of notifications received by the area of technical surveillance of ANVISA as a model for the implementation of the testing of X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, scanning with EDS mapping by electron microscopy, FTIR, atomic force microscopy, thermal analysis and mechanical testing. The results presented demonstrated distinct profiles on the morphological and mechanical suture wires of selected aspects, prompting the construction of a set of analyzes of those currently recommended for the registration of these products, as well as the establishment of a certification process that would be done by harmonizing testing parameters morphological and mechanical characterization of the suture capable of ensuring a greater homogeneity in the commercially available suture threads.
