Laser telecom à base de GaSb. Intégration sur Silicium / GaSb based telecom laser. Integration on SiliconCastellano, Andrea 13 December 2016 (has links)
The transfer of information is the main challenge to meet the growing demand of IT capacities in the 21st century. A possible improvement of existing devices is shifting to optical interconnects technology. This PhD explores the molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) growth and development of antimonide (III-Sb) III-V semiconductor lasers for emission in the telecom range, near 1.55 µm, and their integration on Silicon substrates. III-Sb present interesting properties in term of strain relaxation but they are characterized by a natural emission in the mid – infrared range. Thanks to a new active zone design based on inserting monolayer-thin Al0.68In0.32Sb layers inside Ga0.8InSb QWs, we have obtained by wet processing at Université de Montpellier GaSb-based lasers working in continuous wave above room temperature, at the target wavelength. In addition, their performances were comparable to the performances of the well – established InP technology used in commercial telecom devices. Next, I have developed and optimized at both III-V Lab and Université de Montpellier new process flows based on dry etching of the structures. This allowed reducing the laser ridge width down to 1.5 µm, a value that modeling shows to be needed for single transverse-mode operation. In addition, we have investigated the MBE growth of III-Sb on Si substrates for the direct integration of lasers. We demonstrated the first cw, room temperature laser emission near 1.55 µm from GaSb devices integrated onto Si. For a 1 mm x 10µm diodes the threshold current was of 300 mA and the optical power per uncoated facet was 3.2 mW under 500 mA injected current. These results open the way to the monolithic integration on Si platforms of III-Sb devices for telecom applications.

Loyalty Enhancing Communication for Telecom Customer Relationships : A Qualitative Study of Telecom CustomersAwan, Salman Ahmad, Said, Muzafar January 2011 (has links)
The telecommunication business has been transformed in Sweden through the past few years. Previously telecom industry was under monopoly which has now been converted into more competitive market in which more competitors have entered and offering various alternatives of different kinds of services. TeliaSonera has been one of biggest telecommunication service providers in Sweden which is amalgamation between two big companies; Telia, a major Swedish company and Sonera which is Finish counterpart of Telia. Currently, TeliaSonera is offering various communication services to its customers such as Broadband, TV, Fix telephone connections and Mobile phone services. TeliaSonera is offering these services to both kinds of customers; i.e. business and residential customers. The purpose of this research project is to understand the telecom customers‟ switching behavior in detail by distinguishing between two different kinds of customer experiences which are active customers and passive customers, based on their specific characteristics and to learn to design a communication that is effective not only for one kind of customers‟ e.g. active customers but also for passive customers that have been found challenging regarding communication reception generally. By analyzing the outcomes, researchers would be able to demonstrate different features which need to be taken under consideration while communicating to each of these customers. The research has been carried out with an explorative research approach and qualitative interviewing with 13 students of Karlstad University in two parts. Through this research process, the researchers have built the understanding regarding what triggers influence the customers to switch and what kind of communication attracts them in order to make a decision about staying with current operator or switching to the new one. The theoretical framework is constructed on previous research on customer behavior, customer relationship management and contemporary written communication in the field of service management and marketing. The results of the research show that passive customers are more inclined towards the communication that focuses mainly on cheaper price options and they should be frequently communicated the cheaper options whereas active customers mainly search actively for the moreiiirich information therefore they should be communicated various innovative services and beneficial packages through social networking platforms and emailing newsletters. / LET-Project

A Study of Bangladesh Telecom MarketAlamgir, Rana, Anand, Nitin January 2008 (has links)

Target Audience: The management of TeliaSonera is our main target audience. Also students from management, marketing and business administration are our secondary concern.

Problem Statement: “How suitable is Bangladesh telecom market for an internationalized telecom company (TeliaSonera), and what could be a preferable entry strategy for such market?”

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate Bangladesh telecom market in order to find out the potentiality of the market which could be considered by the company to think about starting a business there and also to determine a suitable entry strategy from the company depending on the factors have been investigated.

Methodology: The project is based on both primary and secondary information retrieved in connection with the theoretical framework. A qualitative approach of research and analysis has been considered to reach the desirable result.

Theoretical Framework: The theoretical framework has been created with Porter’s (1998) five forces and National Diamond together with factors that influence the international entry strategy described by Franklin R (1998)

Findings: While presenting the data, we have followed a structure. We have divided all our data in four parts. They are namely, The Focal Company Factors, Home country (Sweden) factors, the Focal country (Bangladesh) Factors, and the Focal country’s (Bangladesh) Telecom market factors. All data have been presented under the respective headings of these parts and also with some corresponding subheadings.

Analysis: The analysis is based on the result of a consolidated evaluation of relevant theory and empirical information collected accordingly. All the collected information has been observed through the gloss of theoretical framework and has been used for answering the problem statement.

Conclusion: After investigating the factors of Bangladesh telecom market, we can conclude that it will be a good idea for TeliaSonera to expand their business in Bangladesh as both the industry and the country has a lot of potential to offer. An Investment entry mode (Joint Venture) has been suggested. It is worth mentionable that this paper is a preliminary idea about the market to encourage TeliaSonera to expand in Bangladesh which reveals the opportunity for further research.
