The Renaissance painting decoration of the castle Český Krumlov during the reign of the last Rožberks Český Krumlov is one of the biggest and most historically important castle our country. Since the 14th century was the property of a significant Czech family - lords of Rožmberk. During the rule of humanistic educated lords of Rožmberk, in second half of the 16th century, was conducted reconstruction of the castle into Renaissance chateau. The Renaissance spirit of the castle has preserved to this day. The idea is evident both in the exterior and in the interior. The painter's decoration of the castle was closely linked to the owner of the castle and the entire dominion, who showed his prestige, political power or ancestral tradition. The painter's decoration of the castle during the last Rožmberks was also the main theme of this diploma thesis. The architectural study deals with recovery and redevelopment of Hrušovany nad Jevišovkou castle, which is currently abandoned and derelict. Inside the castle are planned cultural, social, exhibitive and representative areas. One wing of Hrušovany’s castle will be used as a hotel. There are designed extra standard rooms with chateau interiors. In underground floors we will find a wellness and wine bar. The service of the castle is extended by spaces in new outbuildings. Návrh sídelní struktury soudobého města v historickém kontextu. / Design of settlement structure of contemporary city in historical context.

Stoklásková, Kateřina January 2020 (has links)
Moravský Krumlov is a town on the Rokytná river in the Znojmo District in the South Moravian Region. The city with a unique panorama struggle with the separation of its individual districts and an insufficient network of pedestrian paths. The separation of the district is caused by the relief of the terrain, the river and its floodplain, as well as the part of industrial areas around the historic center. In my diploma thesis I deal with the space adjacent to the historical center, which I call the area under castle. It is bordered by the middle meander of the river Rokytná. At present, there are industrial areas that limit the movement of people between all parts of the city, prevent the use of space around the river and reduce the attractiveness of the city. In my design, I am creating a new residential development with quality public spaces. I also propose a network of pedestrian paths, which will provide good access to the area under castle and connections to other parts of the city. The project supports the concentration of inhabitants near the historic center and naturally unites the city into one functioning whole.

"Jag har sökt på det och nu så förföljer det mig" : En studie om data mining och användares relation till sina smartmobiler / “I searched it and now it is stalking me” : A study on user behaviors and management regarding data mining and smartphones

Lee Luck, Kiefer, Gyllenklev, Anna January 2019 (has links)
What lies beneath the surface of modern day interfaces? And what are the consequences of sharing our digital self with companies in exchange for free services? We report on a study of smartphone users in Sweden where behaviours and reactions are assessed from a critical viewpoint using the suggested method “Clear the palace”. Users express concerns regarding management of the digital self as well as showing awareness of the limitations within personalization as a result of data mining. Strategies to limit mobile overuse are discussed. The analysis is based on; Shklovski’s notions privacy paradox and creepiness and Pierce’s framework of undesigning technology. Clear the Palace as a methodology is assessed aswell as societal implications of data mining are problematized.

The Flamekeeper : The Confessional Purgation of the Soul in the Poetry of Robert Lowell

Jurison, Ryan January 2020 (has links)
This essay is a critical textual analysis of the poetry of Robert Lowell with focus on religious symbolism used in his work, and the Catholic theology which informed it. This results in a new, contrasting interpretation to the conventional view that he had abandoned his religious focus by mid-career, while accounting for his own assessment that he had not. Insights gained through this analysis, combined with those relating to Lowell’s personal history, reframe his confessional poetry while bolstering this claim.  Through this study, poems selected from Lord Weary’s Castle, The Mills of the Kavanaughs, Life Studies and For the Union Dead are reinterpreted in order to explore the consequences of what Lowell could have intended with this stylistic modification, and discover the religiosity that he claimed was hidden. Lowell’s confessional poetry up until 1964 is examined and recast as the anguished wails of a Catholic soul in Purgatory. This fresh approach to one of America’s finest twentieth-century poets provides a novel foundation for the reinterpretation of the entirety of Lowell’s professional oeuvre.

Theatre and music performances at the castles of Telč and Náměst' nad Oslavou

Koukal, Petr January 1998 (has links)
Were there any aristocratic residences in Moravia, where operas were performed even after the year 1800? Surprisingly, the answer is yes. There were two such places in the music history of that country. The first residence was the castle at Náměst'' nad Oslavou, a smaller town about forty kilometres west of Brno. The second one was the castle in the town of Telč, situated another fifty kilometres west of Brno. Let us have a closer look at these two cases.

Knihovna Státního zámku Litomyšl. Dějiny knihovního fondu, analýza a katalogizace jeho největší části / State castle Litomyšl library. The history of the library collection, the analysis and cataloguing of its greatest part

Večeře, Vít January 2020 (has links)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the library of the state castle Litomyšl that was created as a product of the state institutions in the second half of the 20th century. The thesis deals with the topic in two fundamental segments - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part provides comprehensive processing of the library history and analysis of the particular unit especially from the topical, chronological and geographical point of view. The paper also focuses on the language, provenance as well as physical condition of the books and especially the graphics of the prints. From a thematic point of view, particular emphasis is placed on the most interesting, though not very numerous, group of religious prints and manuscripts. The practical part of the thesis, which consists in the cataloguing of the fund, brings the greatest factual contribution, especially to Národní památkový ústav that will therefore obtain a complex overview on one of its collections, but also to specialized public, for whom the composition of the catalogue means the possibility of the research use.
