The work allows to clear the relevancy of reading by means of descriptive sequences in three textual genders informative, chronicle and fable and to propose the development of classes that enable the teacher to work with his students to reading not only the level of communicability of the text as well as the process of its coherence / Esta dissertação insere-se na linha de pesquisa ―Leitura, escrita e ensino de Língua Portuguesa‖, do Programa de Estudos Pós-graduados em Língua Portuguesa da PUC/SP, e tem por tema o estudo da leitura orientada pelo tipo descritivo e por sequências descritivas em diferentes gêneros textuais.

Previous issue date: 2007-11-14 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / This present dissertation is related to the field research of the Text and
Discourse on Speaking and Writing Ways and has as objective the teaching of
reading from the descriptive text, in genres discourses
Due to the importance of descriptive text in the development of lexical,
textual and communicative skills of the student, two questions are issued: how
the textbooks through genres discourses show the descriptive texts and how it
can be possible to work the descriptive texts in the classroom through
theoretical principles of the textual Linguistic
To guide the discussion of these issues, this dissertation is based on
studies of genres of Bakhtin (2003[1979] and 2004[1929]), Marcuschi (2002 e
2005) and Travaglia (2003, 2004 e 2006), in addition to the guidelines of the
PCNS (1998); under studies on the descriptive text from the authors Genette
(1966), Hamom (1972), Adam (1992), Neis (1986), Fávero & Koch (1987) and
Marquesi ( 2004[1990]) and finally when it comes about textbook, it is based on
Bezerra (2002) and on Guia Didático da Língua Portuguesa (2007).
The results highlight the need of working the descriptive text, through
discursive genres, as it is an omnipresent text in our daily life. Therefore, it is
showed at the end of the dissertation, a proposal for activity of reading from the
