These workshops were conducted by the author of this, a volunteer at Habitare NGO. The population attended in this research is on a state of psychosocial vulnerability, they attend an institution partner of Habitare NGO, which since 2004 develops social projects characterized by psychological interventions with low-income population as a biopsychosocial measure of prevention and intervention in mental health. Three workshops are described and analyzed, from the psychoanalytic method. The analysis takes into account the different setting and management, the analyst's performance, the transformational encounters and the use of material mediators as sewing, songs and books. All of Habitare's projects have characteristics that favor the use of creativity in social-clinical treatments, allowing the analyst to fit through the needs of a vulnerable and in need population, through the offering of setting and management differents from the classical psychoanalysis / Considerando como princípio básico que o amadurecimento infantil depende das competências do bebê associadas à capacidade da mãe de cuidar e manter uma comunicação silenciosa com ele, ou seja, de a mãe entrar em estado de Preocupação Materna Primária (Winnicott, 1956), a presente pesquisa pretende investigar a importância da aplicação de intervenções psicanalíticas preventivas, em grupo com gestantes, denominadas Oficinas favorecedoras de experiências transformacionais.

"Programação neurolinguística: transformação e persuasão no metamodelo" / Neuro-Linguistic Programming: transformation and persuasion in meta-model.

Regina Maria Azevedo 19 April 2006 (has links)
This study aims at presenting the origins of the Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), its main ideas, theoretical presuppositions and goals. Furthermore, it will be analyzed the meta-model, its relationship with language and its exploitation through the modeling process, all based on the book The structure of magic I: a book about language and therapy, by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, the founders of NLP. Moreover, it will be examined the transformations obtained from the derivation process, based on Noam Chomsky´s Transformational-generative grammar, with the goal of verifying its relationship with the meta-model. When exploiting the subject´s discourse submitted for the process of modeling, it will be verified in which way the new semantic contents revealed by the transformations could influence that subject and made him alter his vision of the world. For this analysis, it will be investigated also the classic theories of Argumentation, especially the conviction and persuasion concepts. It will also be verified that the process of modeling can offer resources to the subject, for him to enhance his linguistic vocabulary, to learn new meanings from his own sentences and to be able to persuade and convince himself through deliberating with his inner self.

Proposta de diretrizes para capacitação em liderança transformacional para os docentes do ensino superior / Proposal of guidelines for training in transformational leadership for higher education teachers

Pelliciari, Marcos Roberto de Mendonça 03 July 2018 (has links)
Leadership can be defined as a set of meta-competencies of an individual that aggregates followers towards a goal. Of the leadership styles, some are more researched these days, such as: Transformational Leadership, Transactional Leadership and Laissez-faire. In the context of this work, the transformational leadership theory, which presented results beyond expectations in hundreds of articles with high impact factor, was used by the researcher (teacher of the disciplines) in order to analyze if there is a relationship between leadership style transformational learning and exceeding expectations for learners in the classroom in terms of performance, going beyond the traditional content transference in the classroom. The motivation of the study appears at a time when this area of research has rarely been explored with the higher education teacher as the leader, thus supporting the agenda of the World Economic Forum of 2015, which pointed out with third priority, the promotion of leaders in all the areas. Through the qualitative approach of the research-action research, and support of active learning methodologies, such as the Problem Based Learning (PBL) teaching method and the Learning Styles Index (ILS) and the Keirsey Temperament Classifier (KTS) , the researcher worked using strictly the transformational leadership, with the support of the meta-competencies of leadership, in eight disciplines, four of the Management course and four of the Production Engineering course in two colleges in the city of Fortaleza/CE, covering 253 apprentices in total. The indicators indicated that the leadership had a very positive impact on the groups, with results beyond expectations regarding learning, as well as performance, both by the apprentices and by the teacher. These results formalize the research proposal of this doctoral thesis, which is to propose guidelines for transformational leadership training for higher education teachers, modeling the profile used by the researcher. To do this, the researcher used the Enterprise Knowledge Development (EKD) Method, and proved the model by interviewing 3 (three) leading exponents in their areas, obtaining a positive qualitative validation of the model.

The technological advances and the increasing interest in technology by the students make a perfect scenery to build a tool to help the proccess of teaching and learning in the context of mathematical education. The research is going to be developed based on the didactics engeneering principles, which one of its functions is to analyze didactics situations in the Theory of Didactical Situations in Mathematics. To develop the computational system we used ontological semantics, which supports, among others, applications such as translation and information extraction. We do not believe that the simple use of a computational tool can provide the learning, but that tool, associated with activities carefully constructed and supported by theories such as Brousseau s and Duval s, whose dedicate to the study of phenomena that intervene with the process of teaching and learning of the mathematics, we observe that our hypothesis is viable, since the students, whose did not possess knowledge of straight line segment, at the end of the use of the tool and appropriate didactics sequences were capable of giving the correct order to a demonstration from phrases already written / Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo desenvolver uma ferramenta computacional, utilizando técnicas de PLN (Processamento de Línguas Naturais) e inserir nesta ferramenta sequências didáticas no campo da Geometria das Transformações, empregando-se como embasamento a Teoria das Situações Didáticas de Guy Brousseau e os Registros de Representação Semiótica de Raymond Duval.

Leadership in the Niger Delta Region of Nigeria: A Study of the Perceptions of its Impact on the Acquired Leadership Skills of Expatriate Nigerian Postgraduates.

Akata, Gerald Anietie Ignatius 03 May 2008 (has links)
The primary trouble befalling Nigeria and its Niger Delta has been described as a failure of leadership. At various periods during the late 20th and early 21st centuries, Nigeria endured a bloody civil war and years of repressive military rule. Violence in the Niger Delta region, widespread brain drain, and frequent strikes that disrupted academic calendars at universities had serious ramifications for the region's educational system. This study explores former students' perceptions of perceived leadership qualities seen in educational leaders at universities in the Niger Delta and how those qualities impact the acquired leadership skills of expatriate Nigerian postgraduates. Participants were Nigerian postgraduates living in Africa, Europe, and North America. Twenty-three men and 4 women took part in the study. Purposeful snowballing sampling procedures was used to select the sample. A mixed method design was used to collect data through structured electronic-mail surveys, and data were analyzed using constant comparative analysis procedures. Fifteen areas of influence emerged from expatriates' perceptions of these educational leaders. Areas of influence were categorized into 4 major constructs: Leading qualities, Perceived produced impacts, Perceived barriers, and Responses. Expatriates perceived few negative leading qualities but perceived too many real negative impacts that posed barriers to their acquired leadership skills. They are aware that these perceived barriers could be social, economic, environmental, and ethnic. These perceived impacts and barriers have generated fear in respondents. Anger appeared to be postgraduates' most common response to negative leadership qualities of educational leaders, while restlessness, associated with desire for effective leadership in the region appeared to be a common attitude among respondents. Because educational leadership has tremendous impact on the lives of the country's postgraduates, and in light of increasing reports of "brain drain" from the region, Nigeria's educational leadership should be researched from every possible angle. A new theoretical model of perceptions of leadership qualities should be the focus of future research as Nigerian expatriates examine their own leadership qualities and, eventually, put them to use.

Individualized Consideration: Poverty Countermeasure

Wilson, Lawrence 01 January 2014 (has links)
Despite more than $1 trillion spent annually on poverty remediation, impoverishment in the United States persists unabated. With a U.S. poverty rate greater than 10% for more than 4 decades, economics are neither poverty's cause nor cure. As such, non-economic poverty remedies require exploration and expansion. Linking greater leadership and poverty theories, this non-experimental, cross sectional, quantitative, survey-based research effort correlated individualized consideration's (IC) practice with collegiate athlete graduation rates in order to identify and isolate possible leadership based social poverty remediation measures. Leveraging a two-stage random sample, this research effort correlated student athlete Multi-Factor Leadership Questionnaire (form 5X) responses with educational attainment. An ANOVA of 210 participants (rs = .77) indicated a strong correlation between IC practice and athlete matriculation rates. Strong correlational relationships indicate transformative leadership may serve to advance educational attainment and power poverty remediation. Results further suggest developmental leader actions (rs = .68) were significantly more integral to follower progression than supportive leadership behaviors (rs = .37). Research effort findings offer comprehensive individual, communal, institutional, and societal modification opportunity while promising advancement for society's most disadvantaged members. Finally and most importantly, this research supports positive social change through human forward progression, improving life-conditions for society's most disadvantaged members.

Leadership Styles and Leadership Effectiveness of Outpatient Physical Therapy Clinic Managers

Oyefeso, Adedolapo Ibiyemi 01 January 2017 (has links)
Outpatient physical therapy clinics (OPTC), like many other healthcare organizations, face an array of challenges in meeting the needs of the growing elderly population. The leadership behavior of OPTC managers is a key component to secure employee loyalty, accommodate increased patient demand, and implement positive organizational change. The purpose of this nonexperimental quantitative survey designed study was to investigate the relationship between the leadership styles perceived by OPTC healthcare managers and nonmanagerial employees, as measured by the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire Short. The primary research question examined the difference between the OPTC managers' self-perceived leadership style and the nonmanagerial subordinates' perceptions of the manager's leadership style. The theoretical framework was the transformational and transactional leadership theory by Bass. Sampling was random and comprised of a minimal sample of 89 respondents. Data analysis included both descriptive and inferential statistics. Multiple regression analysis and correlations statistical models were used to predict the relationship of the dependent and independent variables. The results of the present study indicated a statistically significant relationship between the leadership style of OPTC managers and job effectiveness. All leadership styles of the OPTC managers were moderately correlated with job effectiveness, whereas passive/avoidant was negatively related to job effectiveness. This study is significant for OPTC leaders in their quest to create a leadership environment that fosters a positive influence on overall job performance and satisfaction among nonmanagerial staff, a formula for growth, and positive social change.

Evaluating Key Predictors of Employee Response to Change in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Johnson, Otis S. 01 January 2016 (has links)
This study addressed the factors that predict employee response to large-scale change in the United States pharmaceutical industry. When poorly executed, major organizational changes such as mergers and acquisitions are often disruptive and costly to organizations and demoralizing to employees. Although employee responses to change have been studied in several industries, employee responses during change execution in the pharmaceutical industry have not been subject to study. The purpose of this correlational study was to reduce the knowledge gap related to organizational change in the pharmaceutical industry by evaluating key predictors of employee response to large-scale change. The theoretical framework consisted of transformational leadership, stakeholder, and change management theories. The research questions focused on 4 key predictors (initial change reaction, change communication, involvement in change development, and perceived change success) and their effect on 2 primary dependent variables: reaction to change (RC) and support of change (SC). Ninety-eight participants completed the survey and multiple regression was used to measure associations between predictor variables and dependent variables. The 4 independent variables in the aggregate predicted RC and the championing subscale of SC. Individually, none of the independent variables predicted RC, SC, or any of the SC subscales. The study contributes to positive social change by providing leadership with information in guiding creation of a supportive work environment during organizational change and to inspire employees developing medical innovations to fulfill global health needs, while creating skilled jobs and generating profit.

Employees' Perceptions of Managerial Transformational Leadership Behaviors and Effectiveness Among Information Technology Managers

Ogunsakin, Olusesan 01 January 2015 (has links)
The selection of effective leaders is critical to improving organizations' performance in the current dynamic global business landscape; however, the inadequacy of leadership selection criteria in many organizations had led to an increase in the rate of chief executive officers' dismissals within the last 3 decades in the United States. The purpose of this correlational study was to examine the relationship between employees' assessments of their managers' transformational leadership behaviors and employees' perceptions of managerial leadership effectiveness for improved leadership selection. Bass' transformational leadership theory and Herzberg's motivation-hygiene theory guided the study with data gathered, using an online survey, from randomly selected information technology professionals employed at telecommunication service companies located in the State of New Jersey (n = 190). Data analysis using a multiple linear regressions indicated a statistically significant relationship between managers' transformational leadership behaviors and employees' perceptions of managerial leadership effectiveness, F(5, 184) = 237.578, p < .0005, and R2 = 0.866. The final model indicated that each of the 5 predictors examined that represented managers' transformational leadership behaviors were statistically significant in predicting employees' perceptions of managerial leadership effectiveness. The results of this study may have implications for social change by providing information for business executives to improve leadership selection criteria. Adopting the findings from this study might increase effective leaders who proactively align organization's vision with societal expectations, thus improving an organization's public perceptions and financial outlook.
