Confiança nas relações entre líderes e liderados / Trust in the relationship between leaders and subordinates

Bruno, Marcos Luiz 17 December 2013 (has links)
This work explores the theme of trust in the relationship between leaders and subordinates based on Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi\'s flow theory and Gillian Stamp\'s tripod of work (Bioss International). The main objective was to test the hypothesis that leaders and subordinates when in a condition called flow are associated with high levels of mutual trust between leaders and subordinates. The research method was a field study conducted with nine companies, with 643 respondents to a questionnaire as whether their perceptions of how their jobs are demanding at the best of their abilities and 1,036 questionnaires answered by leaders and subordinates related to the quality of leadership received and, in particular, the perception of leader\'s trust between leaders and subordinates in this relationship. The data were treated in both the general categories of the population and the particular category of relationship between pairs of leaders and subordinates. Inferential analyzes were conducted based on the collective data. Hypothesis tests were conducted for the specific pairs of leaders and subordinates. The comparative confirms the hypothesis of this study. When leaders and subordinates are in optimal conditions of flow perception of mutual trust is high. The opposite was also confirmed: when both the leader and their specific subordinates are under non optimal flow, the perception of mutual trust is low. Additionally, 46 interviews were conducted with the objective of comparing how leaders and subordinates understand and define the meaning of the subject trust and associate their definitions obtained with the basic theories of trust found. These qualitative results showed that the Sociological Theory of Trust is that better reflects the practical experiences of the participants. And, also, that when leaders and subordinates are in flow and in a condition of mutual trust, reported qualitatively different experiences with regard to work, particularly on the dimensions of autonomy, for the trust they receive in using their judgments and in participatory processes.

O futuro no passado: estudo sobre os oráculos na obra de Heródoto / Future in the past: a study of oracles in Herodotuswork

Rabello, Ivonete de Souza 27 June 2013 (has links)
HerodotusHistory has numerous oracles, mostly in Book I. A detailed study from some logoi shows that many references to Delphi and the oracles indicate that they not only deal with prophecies or divine influences in the human world but with some kind of orientation for human actions. Computational methods for identification of disease-associated variations in exome sequencing

Wagner, Alex Handler 01 December 2014 (has links)
The explosive growth in the ability to sequence DNA due to next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies has brought an unprecedented ability to characterize an individual's exome inexpensively. This ability provides clinicians with additional tools to evaluate the likely genetic factors underlying heritable diseases. With this added capacity comes a need to identify relationships between the genetic variations observed in a patient and the disease with which the patient presents. This dissertation focuses on computational techniques to inform molecular diagnostics from NGS data. The techniques focus on three distinct domains in the characterization of disease-associated variants from exome sequencing. First, strategies for producing complete and non-artifactual candidate variant lists are discussed. The process of converting patient DNA to a list of variants from the reference genome is very complex, and numerous modes of error may be introduced during the process. For this, a Random Forest classifier was built to capture biases in a laboratory variant calling pipeline, and a C4.5 decision tree was built to enable discovery of thresholds for false positive reduction. Additionally, a strategy for augmenting exome capture experiments through evaluation of RNA-sequencing is discussed. Second, a novel positive and unlabeled learning for prioritization (PULP) strategy is proposed to identify candidate variants most likely to be associated with a patient's disease. Using a number of publicly available data sources, PULP ranks genes according to how alike they are to previously discovered disease genes. This strategy is evaluated on a number of candidate lists from the literature, and demonstrated to significantly enrich ordered candidate variants lists for likely disease-associated variants. Finally, the Training for Recognition and Integration of Phenotypes in Ocular Disease (TRIPOD) web utility is introduced as a means of simultaneously training and learning from clinicians about heritable ocular diseases. This tool currently contains a number of case studies documenting a wide range of diseases, and challenges trainees to virtually diagnose patients based on presented image data. Annotations by trainee and expert alike are used to construct rich phenotypic profiles for patients with known disease genotypes. The strategies presented in this dissertation are specifically applicable to heritable retinal dystrophies, and have resulted in a number of improvements to the accurate molecular diagnosis of patient diseases. However, these works also provide a generalizable framework for disease-associated variant identification in any heritable, genetically heterogeneous disease, and represent the ongoing challenge of accurate diagnosis in the information age.

Schweißtechnische Automatisierung an "überschweren Rohrkonstruktionen"

Wähner, Ralf 22 May 2012 (has links) (PDF)

Study on Bronze Inscription in Western Zhou for the Shan Lineages

Chen, Yuan-ling 21 August 2012 (has links)
In the year 2003, twenty seven pieces of Shan¡¦s bronzes pit with inscriptions were excavated in Yangjiachun village of Mexian County, Shannxi. Except for the work in mid Western Zhou The Tien Yu, all of them were cast in late Western Zhou. The most noteworthy items among these bronzes are The Lai Ding Tripod of the 42th Year, the 43th Year and The Lai Pan. The former two were cast for King¡¦s awards for Lai¡¦s military contributions, plus the honorary title Li-Ren that conferred to Lai in the following year. By contrast, the later was to record Lai¡¦s family history about his ancestors¡¦ loyalty to Kings of Western Zhou, which also explained his succession to fathers¡¦ position in the government. Since the Lai¡¦s bronzes pit got excavated, many studies have addressed to them such as exegetics of inscriptions, history of Western Zhou, or sociopolitical system in that era. However, there are still some issues remained controversial including decipherment of particular texts, the history, and nature of specific government positions. Therefore, we investigated issues over these bronzes with reference to previous findings, and the theses are presented here: Our introduction can be found in Chapter 1, and in Chapter 2 we selected some meaning-unsolved individual inscriptions on The Lai Ding Tripod of the 42th Year, the 43th Year as well as the Lai Pan for interpretation. Chapter 3 is an in-depth association for Shan¡¦s family, in which we connected the inscriptions of Lai¡¦s name and his ancestors in the Lai Pan with other possible associated bronzes for inductive reasoning. In Chapter 4, we discussed some questions related to the three bronzes mentioned above which included figures, geographical names, and nobility succession system of the Western Zhou. All our findings were summarized in Chapter 5, the conclusion. We hope that this article can provide some suggestions to the lost parts of history documents.

STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS OF A WASHING MACHINE THROUGH ITS LOADING CASES : REDESIGN OF THE TRIPOD AND THE FRONT COVER

Abril López, Raimundo, Huertas Molina, Pablo, González Zuheros, Rocío January 2011 (has links)
This project thesis is developed in collaboration with the mechanical department at University of Skövde, and it is focused in the determination of different loading cases and the application of their results to the optimization of two parts of a washing machine.   The first step in this report is to obtain a numerical model of a washing machine. It includes the assembly in a mechanical software program (Abaqus), and the assignment of the specific boundary conditions and material properties for the problem. Simulation parameters such as mesh size; types of elements, and number of iterations used in the calculations will also be decided.   A study of the different loading cases is carried out with the intention of having a general view of the problem and selecting four specific cases for its application to the reconstruction of the aimed parts (tripod and front cover). This study includes the calculation of the worst relative angle between the tripod and the resultant force for two opposite loads inside the drum. This angle results to be 35º between the arm and the direction of the resultant force.   Through the application of these different loading conditions to this model, the mechanical behaviour of the parts will be obtained and this information will be used in the reconstruction. By mechanical behaviour it is meant to know the maximum level of stress (tension, compression and shear), and deformation (displacement and strain).   Once it is well known which are the most suffering points of the tripod and in the front cover, several different new shapes are created. The parameters considered in this reconstruction were the decrease of volume, the reduction of the level of stress and the deformations. Two of these shapes are chosen and tested in the numerical model, as a checkout.   Finally all these results are presented to the University of Skövde for possible future use.

Kinematische Optimierung einer parallelkinematischen Bewegungseinheit im Entwurfsprozess mit Mathcad / Optimization of parallel kinematic machines during design process using Mathcad

Teichgräber, Carsten 09 May 2012 (has links) (PDF)
