Vägledning på kvinnojour : En kvalitativ studie om arbetslivsstöttning för kvinnor som lever med våld i nära relation / Career guidance at women's shelters : A qualitative study on working life support for women living with violence in close relationships

Göök, Katarina, Busk, Maria January 2022 (has links)
Violence in close relationships is becoming more common and is being raised more and more often in the media. Collective efforts to detect violence are made at various authorities today. Violence in close relationships affects all parts of life, which is why we have chosen to examine the impact of violence on working life and careers for women. In our profession, this is relevant as we are likely to come into contact with these women. Through the following questions, we sought the answers to our questions: ● What limitations and opportunities do workers at women's shelters think that abused women experience regarding working life and careers? ● How do workers at women's shelters work to promote the working lives and careers of abused women? Six semi-structured interviews were conducted with women’s shelter workers who gave their views on how working life and careers affect these women they have good experience of helping. The results of the survey show that women who live with violence in close relationships face a number of limitations in order to be able to achieve a functioning working life. The control the woman has been subjected to results in several of her needs not being met, which affects self-esteem and drive. Contact with the authorities can be complicated and long processes can affect a woman's opportunities to get into working life quickly. In these processes, among other things, we see the importance of the women's shelter's supportive and guiding work.
