The Untapped Potential : A descriptive study of Sweden as an emerging wine tourism destination

Parvazi Nia, Joan, Regnér, Daniel January 2022 (has links)
Tourism is considered as an economic force in modern society, not only is it asource of revenue, but also a means of connecting cultures and traditions withpeople from all over the world. Wine tourism especially is a form of tourismthat brings visitors to vineyards to experience the authentic taste of a region.Sweden as the youngest wine country that is still being discovered and thereare untapped potentials to be fully realized. Being involved in the wineindustry in Sweden means a direct relationship between the winemakers andSystembolaget as the main body that is responsible for sales of alcohol. Therefore, the major source of income for winemakers, called direct sales(sale at the cellar), is not a viable option for the Swedish winemaker. Whatchallenges these winemakers face and what opportunities lies within theemerging industry, that is wine tourism in Sweden, is the motivation behindthis project.

Ganibenc, Dominique 14 December 2012 (has links)
This study concerns the different constructions used in the making of wine in Languedoc-Roussillon from the 1860s to the present day. It aims at studying their place and impact in ‘Languedocian’ landscape. Part of the research focuses on private buildings, whether residential or commercial. The analysis of cooperative winery buildings is more exhaustive and oriented towards wine cellars and distilleries. The implementation of a corpus of these private or community structures has been done in order to present the evolution and architectural typology. The study is centered mainly on the necessities of creating a wine cooperative network, forms and conditions of its development as well as the establishment of regulatory bodies.Distribution through the period was analyzed across an area with cooperatives of the Gironde as a point of comparison. The main contractor networks have also been identified, and their works listed and there has also been a focus on architectural vocabulary. Finally, a cluster analysis and the architecture of these buildings connected to the wine industry, both private and community, as well as their current engagement with a severe restructuring of the cooperative network, raises the question of their historical and symbolic value. It is time to assess how to ensure this rich viticultural heritage in the region's history is preserved and indeed enhanced.

A territorial approach of organic wines and winemakers in France : Case studies of the Bordelais and the Rhône Valley

Célérier, Frédérique 08 December 2016 (has links)
Organic viticulture, which emerged in France after the Second World War and long remained marginal, has been booming for ten years now. The craze for organic wines, in terms of both production and consumption, is driven by the increase of environmental concerns regarding the use of pesticides, and by growing criticism of the standardization of wine manufacturing methods. Yet, organic viticulture is still struggling to emerge in the wine sector as a relevant solution to these current issues. Its mixed results question the ability of stakeholders in wine territories to embrace organic viticulture. This thesis explores the spatial and temporal processes at work in the dissemination of organic viticulture in France, as a groundswell whose transformations go beyond environmental purposes. Organic viticulture addresses plural determinants, – economics, tastes, ethics, health – as symptoms of an overall renewal of the relationships between wine, viticulture and territory. It reflects the shifting aspirations of urban societies concerning wine, wineries and rural areas. The geographical analysis of its dissemination, scope and limitations reveals that organic viticulture is both the witness and the driving force of deep transformations in the wine world. The latter is analyzed within a broader framework of issues in French rural and wine geography, currently undergoing a major upheaval. The territorial approach of this research analyses the dissemination of organic viticulture through the lens of increasingly numerous and varied relationships between actors in vineyards. Our grid focuses on winemakers, considered the main drivers of the spread of organic viticulture and whose role is representative of the changing relationship between urban and rural areas. The study of practices, discourses and representations is at the center of our approach. The undergoing processes are analysed in the whole French vineyard. The specific study of two wine regions, the Bordelais and the Rhône Valley, captures the complex territorial dynamics of this dissemination.

VINAŘSKÝ DŮM / WINE HOUSE

Palík, Vladimír January 2017 (has links)
Abstract The subject of the thesis is architectural study of the Winery hotel Hrůdek with a salon of wines, with a wellness and with a congress centre. The locality of the local name of Hrůdek is situated north of the Velké Pavlovice municipality, at a small hill behind the Upper Fishpond, in place of a former henhouse. The building site, owing to its uphill position, provides admirable view of the Trkmanka stream valley. The object designed is separately standing and due to its emplacement it creates an outstanding view point of neighbourhood. The object is designed in such manner tat it would fit together with the surrounding landscape. There are applied natural materials as wood, stone. Mass of the building is divided into two objects, A and B, connected by means of a subbasement. The public outdoor areas are fixed between these buildings and are terraced. From the upper terrace there is situated entrance into the building A with the reception desk, restaurant, congress hall and wellness. We can get into the building through the connection corridor in the subbasement or from the upper terrace. In the B building B there is situated accommodation of the **** standard. Then leaseable wine-cellars and a wine bar accessible from the lower terrace. The object layout is interestingly solved. Such layout offers to the visitor countless interesting sights and views of the surrounding landscape. Keywords: Winery hotel, wine salon, wellness, congress centre, restaurant, wine-cellars, presentation of wines, tasting cellars
