Abstract TAIEX Options¡]TXO¡^has been listed and traded for four years , and sttlement account total 48 expiration month contracts , in order to verificate 24 kinds of trade strategies and 502 set of combination trade positions , which can make profit good , the author select 7 Call and 7 Put strick price , which have high trade volumes of each expiration month contract first day closing price , to calculate each one¡¦s profit-loss¡FIn addition , verificate 19292 sets of¡urandom combination positions¡vtest to examine the one of best¡C We can compare and assess to count the best operation trade strategy and position by three propositions , accoding to market situation , The result of verification , the¡usell strangles¡vand ¡usell strddles¡vwere good to others , and selling in-the-money at first and second series Put also has more profit , and the parts of¡urandom combination positions¡vin 48 months , which can reach as high as 41 months profit¡C

Approved for public release; distribution in unlimited. / In this thesis, a new fictitious play (FP) procedure is presented to solve two-person zero-sum (TPZS) Blotto games. The FP solution procedure solves TPZS games by assuming that the two players take turns selecting optimal responses to the opponent's strategy observed so far. It is known that FP converges to an optimal solution, and it may be the only realistic approach to solve large games. The algorithm uses dynamic programming (DP) to solve FP subproblems. Efficiency is obtained by limiting the growth of the DP state space. Blotto games are frequently used to solve simple missile defense problems. While it may be unlikely that the models presented in this paper can be used directly to solve realistic offense and defense problems, it is hoped that they will provide insight into the basic structure of optimal and near-optimal solutions to these important, large games, and provide a foundation for solution of more realistic, and more complex, problems. / Captain, Republic of Korea Air Force

Abstract Game contingent claims (GCCs), as introduced by Kifer (2000), are a generalization of American contingent claims where the writer has the opportunity to terminate the contract, and must then pay the intrinsic option value plus a penalty. In complete markets, GCCs are priced using no-arbitrage arguments as the value of a zero-sum stochastic game of the type described in Dynkin (1969). In incomplete markets, the neutral pricing approach of Kallsen and Kühn (2004) can be used. In Part I of this thesis, we introduce GCCs and their pricing, and also cover some basics of mathematical finance. In Part II, we present a new algorithm for valuing game contingent claims. This algorithm generalises the least-squares Monte-Carlo method for pricing American options of Longstaff and Schwartz (2001). Convergence proofs are obtained, and the algorithm is tested against certain GCCs. A more efficient algorithm is derived from the first one using the computational complexity analysis technique of Chen and Shen (2003). The algorithms were found to give good results with reasonable time requirements. The Dangers of Corporate Champions: The East India Company's Devastating Impact on Britain

This paper argues against the common historical belief that the British East India Company’s actions benefited the British Public. While many recent historical works argue that the Company had detrimental effects on India, the common consensus believes that the Company’s actions while pillaging India benefited Britain through economic treasures and access to luxuries. In the first section of the text, the author describes the British East India Company’s corruption, propaganda, and lobbying efforts to enrich individual members of the Company and protect personal and corporate profits. The next section describes the Company’s impact on Britain and argues that the Company was an overwhelmingly negative investment for the British taxpayer. The author compares the East India Company’s historic actions and impacts on Britain to the impact of modern big corporations on their own nations. The text concludes with an argument that the popular narrative, which holds that large corporations’ interests coincide with that of the nation’s public interest, is both inherently mistaken and fraught with danger. The author argues against a zero-sum worldview and for a corporate sector with checks and balances.

Three essays on game theory and computation

The results section of my thesis includes three chapters. The first two chapters are on theoretical game theory. In both chapters, by mathematical modelling and game theoretical tools, I am predicting the behaviour of the players in some real world issues. Hoteling-Downs model plays an important role in the modern political interpretations. The first chapter of this study investigates an extension of Hoteling-Downs model to have multi-dimensional strategy space and asymmetric candidates. Chapter 3 looks into the inspection game where the inspections are not the same in the series of sequential inspections. By modelling the game as a series of recursive zero-sum games I find the optimal strategy of the players in the equilibrium. The forth chapter investigates direct optimization methods for large scale problems. Using Matlab implementations of Genetic and Nelder-Mead algorithms, I compare the efficiency and accuracy of the most famous direct optimization methods for unconstraint optimization problems based on differing number of variables.

Thus lots organizations struggle to do renewal in strategizing, planning in order to differentiate themselves to outperform in their industry. Based on practical experience and integrate theoretical finds, the framework in analyzing how organization crafts sustainable capacity form coopetition(Äv¦X) is explored. Real practical case is illustrated in this study try to explain how L Company is integrated under a serious competitive condition and outperform then it shapes synergy from merging six parallel businesses into one big company. Through such merging story, finds are emerged as followings: 1. Small business can compete with big company by cooperation with others. 2. Relationship is critical element to integrate forces and accumulate common sense from business partners. 3. In integration, how effective result will come out through intensive compromising and negotiating among business partners.
