Computing leakage current distributions and determination of minimum leakage vectors for combinational designsGulati, Kanupriya 16 August 2006 (has links)
Analyzing circuit leakage and minimizing leakage during the standby mode of oper-
ation of a circuit are important problems faced during contemporary circuit design.
Analysis of the leakage profiles of an implementation would enable a designer to
select between several implementations in a leakage optimal way. Once such an im-
plementation is selected, minimizing leakage during standby operation (by finding
the minimum leakage state over all input vector states) allows further power reduc-
tions. However, both these problems are NP-hard. Since leakage power is currently
approaching about half the total circuit power, these two problems are of prime rel-
evance.
This thesis addresses these NP-hard problems. An Algebraic Decision Diagram
(ADD) based approach to determine and implicitly represent the leakage value for all
input vectors of a combinational circuit is presented. In its exact form, this technique
can compute the leakage value of each input vector, by storing these leakage values
implicitly in an ADD structure. To broaden the applicability of this technique, an
approximate version of the algorithm is presented as well. The approximation is done
by limiting the total number of discriminant nodes in any ADD. It is experimentally
demonstrated that these approximate techniques produce results with quantifiable
errors. In particular, it is shown that limiting the number of discriminants to a value between 12 and 16 is practical, allowing for good accuracy and lowered memory
utilization.
In addition, a heuristic approach to determine the input vector which minimizes
leakage for a combinational design is presented. Approximate signal probabilities of
internal nodes are used as a guide in finding the minimum leakage vector. Probabilistic
heuristics are used to select the next gate to be processed, as well as to select the
best state of the selected gate. A fast satisfiability solver is employed to ensure the
consistency of the assignments that are made in this process. Experimental results
indicate that this method has very low run-times, with excellent accuracy, compared
to existing approaches.

Specifické vývojové poruchy učení a syndrom ADHD a ADD - pilotní analýza změn v průběhu školní docházky / Specific developmental disorders of learning and syndrome ADHD and ADD - pilot analysis of changes during school attendanceBajerová, Jitka January 2011 (has links)
Specific developmental disorders in learning and syndrome ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) - The pilot's analysis of modifications within school attendance My dissertation is devoted to accessible pieces of knowledge from neuro-science, pedagogy and psychology appointed at specific disorders in learning and syndrome ADHD/ADD. I described characteristic, etiology, expressions, reeducation and diagnostic of specific developmental disorders in learning and syndrome ADHD/ADD. I looked up pupils (in 1st and 2nd forms) with possible assumption of any specific developmental disorders in learning by standardized tests. I have focused on an importance of capture their beginning problems. I founded current existence of specific disorders in learning among pupils on second stage of primary school. I have carried out my research work in primary school (1024 Laudova Street, Prague 17 - Řepy). I captured data from my research work that had been statistically processed. The school staff allowed me to get information about specific disorders in learning presence among 2nd form classes' students. From my research work resulted conclusion that in Test of mental - learning disturbance (in reading and writing) that sample equals to the value of 16.66667 %. It is in...

A Visual Studio Add-In for Software Component Services in Smart DevicesREHMAN, SAUD UR January 2011 (has links)
Reusability, reliability and flexibility are the key concerns in component based development. Moreover components should not affect the functionality of other components. So to address these issues software component models were introduced. This component based approach is also used in embedded real time systems. But due to recourse restrictions, traditional component models have a small domain. This problem is resolved by introducing a new software component services approach extending the functionality of already available component models. In my thesis I created a visual studio add-in which extended the functionality of a COM type library and provided the logging service for ATL smart device. It reads the classes and methods of the COM type library and then adds logging service using proxy objects. Then I tested my add-in with a managed client of a simple calculator. First I used the simple COM type library with the managed client and then I used it with my add-in’s output. The result in both cases were same so it’s clear that my add-in didn’t alter the basic functionality of the COM type library it just added the logging service to it.

Developing SharePoint add-insJansson, Björn, Maghsoudi, Sebastian January 2017 (has links)
Developing a Microsoft SharePoint-based site is, according to marketing, simple and efficient. Efficiency is increased by giving the developer the option to easily add functionality to the site. One way to add functionality is through so called add-ins. An add-in extends the functionality of the site by running independent code on the client, cloud or a server outside the SharePoint farm. Add-ins can be added to the site through a web-based market or by creating new ones. The general question is if creation of new add-ins is worth the effort. This discussion can begin by investigating what implementation detail is reoccurring when developing this add-ins as well as what part of the process the most time is consuming. By attempting to create add-ins and the same time documenting the progress one can make conclusion regarding said questions. The result shows that the most recurring parts of development is how to manage the incoming data. It also seems as if the most time consuming part of add-in development is the research and construction of functionality that fetch data from the SharePoint-based site. Another part of the result is technical and contains information necessary to understand how the example add-ins are created. The add- ins that is presented in this paper concern document management which is a significant aspect of Microsoft SharePoint.

Continuous simulation of groundwater use and effluent discharge in catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) ponds at five locations in the Southeast U.STriyono, Sugeng 11 August 2007 (has links)
Long-term climatological data were used to evaluate the effectiveness of a drop/add management strategy to reduce groundwater use and effluent discharge in catfish ponds in the southeast U.S.. A drop/add approach is based on the creation of a storage volume in the pond for rainfall collection. The storage volume is created by allowing water level in the pond to decrease until some minimum level is reached. When the minimum level is reached, the pond is partly refilled, leaving the remaining volume available to capture incident precipitation. In this way, the role of precipitation in the water budget is increased. In the process, groundwater use and effluent release both become smaller. The data consisted of 45 year precipitation and evaporation records from Fairhope, AL; Clemson, SC; Stoneville, MS, Stuttgart, AR; and Thomsons, TX. The data were used in a water balance levee pond model that included precipitation, evaporation, infiltration, overflow, groundwater pumping, and draining. The model appeared to indicate that the drop/add management scheme is an effective strategy to reduce groundwater use and effluent discharge. The simulated results showed that variation of climate in the southeast U.S. was an important determinant of performance of the drop/add management scheme. At locations with positive P-0.8E, zero groundwater use could be achieved with low drop depths. At location with negative P-0.8E, zero groundwater use could be achieved for about 50% of the 45 simulated years. The model also indicated that effluent discharge cannot be avoided at most locations except at location with very low (negative) P-0.8E. The model also indicated that 65 to 100% of annual precipitation (depending on the P-0.8E?s of the locations) can be captured and used in the ponds. Rainwater contribution to the total water budget ranged from 90 to 100%. The sensitivity analysis showed that model sensitivity to pan coefficient and infiltration rate was affected by infiltration rate and pond water storage capacity (drop depth). The model was more sensitive to pan coefficient rather than to infiltration rate at lower infiltration rates and vice-versa.Both sensitivities of the model, however, increased when pond water deeper storage capacity was used.
