Johansson, Joanna, Lindgren, Johanna January 2016 (has links)
Purpose and research question: The purpose of this study is to provide and attain a deeper understanding of how the business philosophy of green marketing affects recreational adventure tourism. Further, the study intends to identify and analyze green marketing in relation to service development, green marketing strategies, branding, segmentation and positioning in the dive tourism sector. This has formulated our research question: How does green marketing affect adventure tourism? Methodology: A qualitative research method offers a deeper understanding of the effects of green marketing in the context of recreational dive tourism sector which is currently one of the fastest growing categories of adventure tourism. The study has followed an abductive research approach with an inductive initial departure and thereafter a simultaneously assemble of a theoretical framework during the sequence of conducting ten in-depth interviews. Conclusion: During this study we have identified tendencies deriving from the empirical findings and the literature review. The theoretical implications of this thesis involve filling the research gap of green marketing in a context of dive and adventure tourism. Furthermore, the practical implications involve that an implementation of green marketing can imply competitive advantages and exert a strong differentiation effect on brands. Thus, the integration of green performances and the communication sustainability could facilitate the dive tourism sector’s development towards increased environmental awareness. We further argue that the effects of green marketing in the dive tourism could be applicable in other categories of adventure tourism due to its dependency on nature and the current increasing trend of environmental awareness.

Holleben, Denise 18 September 2009 (has links)
Submitted by Marcelo Teixeira (mvteixeira@ucs.br) on 2014-06-04T19:44:32Z No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao Denise Holleben.pdf: 16920103 bytes, checksum: 0d6877c29c24e4fe42db54b72dd1c58e (MD5) / Made available in DSpace on 2014-06-04T19:44:33Z (GMT). A study of collaboration within the Swedish mountain safety council and it´s significance for the safety-promoting work in mountain safety : A study on risk management in adventure tourism

Johansson, Karin January 2022 (has links)
Adventure tourism is a form of nature-related tourism where activities with varying degrees of risk are in focus for the experience. Globally, adventure tourism has become a growing industry while at the same time being an important source of income for many of the communities that offer experiences within the concept. But it isn´t an experience free from risk. Risk factors related to the environment, weather and the individual himself are often present in nature-related experiences which can give rise to serious events and incidents regardless of whether the risk level in activity's is high or low. Research shows that individual-oriented measures may often be in focus when measures are recommended, while several researchers believe that risk management needs to be based on a holistic perspective where collaboration between actors in the industry is significant for risk management.   The purpose of this thesis is to investigate how the safety prevention work through collaboration is developed and maintained with the Mountain Safety Council at the forefront. The study was conducted using a qualitative method where the material for the study was collected through 13 interviews. The interviews have then been transcribed and analyzed with a qualitative content analysis and the results present similarities and differences between the respondents´ perspectives.   The results show that there are several similarities, but also differences in how the respondents experience the local in the security promotion work. But also similarities regarding the importance of collaboration where the respondents feels that collaboration contributes to building and strengthening the relationships between the actors. At the same time, there are some differences in how the respondents perceive the legislation and several respondents also experience that there are some challenges in communication and reaching out with information. But also challenges in the form of lack of injury surveillane and limited opportunities to evaluate measures.
