Jiřičná, Vladimíra January 2018 (has links)
Title: Awareness of the Czech population about sporting events involving Emirates Airline Aims: The primary aim of this thesis is to find out the awareness of the Czech population about sporting events involving Emirates Airline. The secondary aim is to then evaluate the gathered information. Methods: The research question is answered through an experiment that entails distributing an online questionnaire to respondents as a form of quantitative method used in this dissertation. The compiled questionnaire was sent out to various groups of responders using the social network and email communication. The research lasted for three weeks in which the results were then processed by the computer technology in the MS Excel program. Results: The responses received by the Czech population show an awareness of sport events involving Emirates Airlines in Football, Tennis and Formula 1 racing. Determining an alternative leadership paradigm in a selected volatile environment

Bolt, Judith 07 1900 (has links)
Most industries are confronted with increasingly volatile environments that consist of rapid change and unpredictable dynamics. These factors require a particular leadership style that is capable of dealing with complexity. The suggested alternative leadership paradigm is based on the ideas of quantum mechanics, complexity theory and relativity theory; thus referred to as Einsteinian-Quantum leadership paradigm. To establish whether such leadership paradigm is emerging in volatile environments, semi-structured interviews and multiple surveys were distributed to managers and leaders in the international airline industry. Based on the results, a Quantum Leadership Matrix (QLM) was established to test for the level of quantum leadership behaviour in the selected industry and assist in identifying gaps between Newtonian-Cartesian and Einsteinian-Quantum characteristics in order to develop sustainable leadership models. The QLM and surveys indicated that managers and leaders still resist in a transition phase where both Newtonian-Cartesian and Einsteinian-Quantum leadership characteristics can be observed simultaneously. / Business Management / M. Correlates of union and organizational commitment : a survey of former Eastern Airlines employees

Dolfi, Sharon A. Israel 06 April 1994 (has links)
Former Eastern Airlines flight attendants were surveyed regarding their levels of union, organizational, and dual commitment, union participation, strike participation and support, and current feelings of job stress, job affect and job satisfaction. It was found that union commitment was positively correlated with union participation. Due to the unique situation at Eastern, it was also found that there was no difference in levels of strike participation and support between those dually committed and those unilaterally committed to the union. Strike participation and support also correlated positively with one measure of current job stress. Other findings included a positive correlation between job affect and satisfaction, and a negative correlation between both of these measures and job stress.

Comparative Qualitative Research Distinguishing Safety Features Among Aviation Safety Action Programs in the United States Airlines

January 2016 (has links)
abstract: Over the years, aviation safety has been influenced by continuous implementations of both proactive and reactive policies by both regulatory boards and also, aviation service providers. This achievement has been possible mainly because of the safety management tools like the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) which derives its roots from the much earlier Aviation Safety Reporting System (ASRS). Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) provides guidelines and procedures for installation and development of an ASAP, for every airline in the United States. In this study, how different United States air carriers apply ASAP in their organizations is investigated. / Dissertation/Thesis / Masters Thesis Technology 2016

Spolupráce leteckých dopravců / Cooperation amongst Air Carriers

Huňak, James January 2014 (has links)
The thesis deals with the issue of cooperation amongst air carriers. There are mentioned several forms of cooperation in this field: bilateral agreements, global airline alliances and also very specific and current ways of cooperation which are mergers and acquisitions. The last mentioned forms are illustrated on specific examples of important European airlines which decided to improve their competitiveness by joining other air carrier or acquiring relevant stake in other airline. The trend of concentration in the aviation area has naturally affected Czech air transport market as well; therefore this thesis includes a separate chapter concerning acquisition of Czech Airlines by Korean Air which bought a 44 % stake in Czech flag air carrier. There are analyzed in detail the main impacts of the transaction from different points of view, including potential synergistic effects resulting from the cooperation. The thesis also deals with the recently established cooperation between Czech Airlines and its rival airline Travel Service which plans to buy a 34 % stake in Czech national airline and to become its legitimate shareholder besides Korean Air. The thesis includes an analysis of cooperation with this company as well.
