The presented diploma thesis focuses on artistic rendering of my relationship with mother, mainly in terms of colour expression, which I see as crucial. The work is divided into two parts, the practical part and the theoretical one. The theoretical part deals with psychology of colours and their impact on a human being. The practical part consists of six large-scale acrylic paintings painted on canvas, description of my individual artistic development and sources of inspiration.

Picture In my painting series „Picture“ I use a method of visual memory and simple surfaces. My paintings are abstract. In this form I have found my one way to landscape. I have create five large acryl paintings 3x 180cm x 170cm, 190cm x 180cm, 200cm x 170cm.

This diploma thesis called "Thoughts of Plants" consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on an explanation of the basic thoughts and inspiration that comprise the main resources for the practical part in my thesis. In context of this thesis subject, there is a documentation of the main points in the current art scene, which deals with plant and landscape detail. The practical part is composed of the monumental triptych connected to the subject. This triptych is made of acrylic paint on canvas.

Uppsatsen är en biografisk och receptionshistorisk studie av en svensk nutida konstnär. Tidningarnas recensioner och artiklar, personliga samtal med Johan Thunberg och analys av Thunbergs målningar ger underlag till uppsatsen. Materialet har hämtats från bibliotekets mikrofilmsarkiv, tidningarnas internetarkiv och konstnärens hemsida på Internet med länkar till Konstnärslexikonet Amanda och Svenska konstnärer.   Vid informationsinsamlandet av underlaget till uppsatsen har långsamt en ”bild” av Johan Thunbergs konstnärliga verksamhet vuxit fram som idag år 2011 kan ses som en mindre affärsrörelse. En intressant del i affärsrörelsen, förutom den konstnärliga kreativiteten att framställa originalmålningar, är marknadsföringen av enmansföretaget. En särskild analys av denna marknadsföring har gjorts.   Slutligen har en analys av studien gjorts och slutresultatet redovisats.

The practical part of diploma work consist of five figurative paintings, medium and bigger sized, made with acrylic colors on the canvas. The whole painting set is called `` Touches{\crqq}. The reflection principle goes trough the entire work and is also the name of subtitle. The reflection is important in a symbolic sense while choosing particular motives and colorful paintings. The work is inspired by the book Golden age written by Czech contemporaneous author Michal Ajvaz. In written section of diploma work the reader gets better idea about the work and each motif as well. There is a description of artistic aims, symbolic, colorness, painting techniques and used material.

Abstract I have made a Website called ”Art school” for Liljevalchs art Gallery, Culture administration in Stockholm and Culture school in Stockholm. It is with scholarship from these that this Website has been possible. The work whit the “Art school” started in the autumn of 2005 and ended in May 2006 on distance from Stockholm towards Blekinge technology school in Karlshamn. The Webb place is for the general public, but most for people who have interest in art and for those how want to learn more painting in different mediums. This Websites I name: oil, watercolour, acrylic, coal, gouache, and graphite. On each one of these mediums you’ll get to know about their history, what technique they have, what sort of material you need, practise and tip. All the paintings under practise and techniques have I been painting and drawing, then the paintings have been photographed during the process so you can se the structure. I rented a photo gallery in Stockholm where I could bring all the art material and photograph with a good light, then I have build a photo studio in my home. After that I have worked whit creating a good design that fits the purpose and whit a belonging logotype. The building of the Website has been time-consuming but amusing. I have worked with the program Macromedia Flash 8, Adobe Photoshop CS and Illustrator CS. / Sammanfattning Jag har gjort en webbplats som heter ”Konstskolan” för Liljevalchs konsthall, kulturförvaltningen i Stockholm och kulturskolan i Stockholm. Det är med stipendier från dessa som webbplatsen blivit möjlig. Arbetet med konstskolan påbörjades hösten 2005 och avslutades i Maj 2006 på distans ifrån Stockholm mot Blekinge Tekniska Högskola i Karlshamn. Webbplatsen är till för allmänheten, men framförallt för konstintresserade och de som vill veta mer om hur det går till att måla i olika medier. På webbplatsen tar jag upp medierna: olja, akvarell, akryl, gouache, kol och blyerts. På var och en av dessa medierna får man reda på dess historia, vad det finns för tekniker, vad för material man behöver, övningar och tips. Alla tavlor under övningar och teknik har jag målat och ritat, sedan har tavlorna blivit fotograferade under processens gång så att man kan se och förstå uppbyggnaden. Jag hyrde en fotostudio i Stockholm där jag kunde ta med allt konstnärsmaterial och fotografera för bästa ljus, sedan har jag även byggt upp en fotostudio i hemmet. Därefter har jobbet varit att skapa en design som passar ändamålet och en tillhörande logotyp. Uppbyggnaden av webbplatsen har varit tidskrävande men rolig.
