An ever-present discussion in those works concerns the relationship between the regional and national, in which the constitution of the regional's identity would have conducted through or not, differentiation toward the Brazilian identity. In other words, the contours between the regional affirmation and the inserting in the Brazilian nation were never very clear. As a result, this characteristic has always generated much controversy, from no academic studies to those developed in the university academic environment. In this context, the polygraph Apolinário Porto Alegre comes and, according to historiography from Rio Grande do Sul, he would have been the trigger, from the second half of the nineteenth, of the Gaúcho regionalism. On the other hand, the same historiography, especially after the academic specialization, began pointing that he had concerns about the Brazilian nationality in his horizon. Therefore, this work is inserted in the middle of these hazy historiographical discourses, seeking to ascertain the relationship between the Gaúcho regionalism and Brazilian nationalism in Apolinario Porto Alegre. / O Regionalismo gaúcho e a literatura regionalista que deu o tom a esse movimento foram, desde o início do século XX, objetos de inúmeras pesquisas que geraram uma grande quantidade de interpretações. Uma discussão sempre presente nesses trabalhos diz respeito à relação que se dá entre o âmbito regional e o nacional, no qual a constituição da identidade gaúcha teria se realizado através, ou não, da diferenciação para com a identidade brasileira. Em outras palavras, os contornos entre a afirmação regional e a inserção à nação brasileira nunca foram muito claros. Em razão disso, tal característica sempre gerou muito controvérsia, desde os estudos não acadêmicos até aqueles desenvolvidos no âmbito acadêmico universitário. Nesse contexto, entra o polígrafo Apolinário Porto Alegre que, segundo a historiografia sul-rio-grandense, teria sido o desencadeador, a partir da segunda metade do XIX, do Regionalismo gaúcho. Por outro lado, a mesma historiografia, principalmente após a especialização universitária, começou a apontar indícios de que aquele escritor tinha em seu horizonte preocupações com a nacionalidade brasileira. Portanto, esse trabalho se insere em meio a esses nebulosos discursos historiográficos, buscando averiguar a relação entre o Regionalismo gaúcho e o nacionalismo brasileiro em Apolinário Porto Alegre.

The New South Wales is not left out of this situation, and so deserves a careful investigation with regard to his literary life. To contribute to a better understanding of the sources of their literature, this doctoral thesis focuses on the poet Apollinaire José Gomes Porto Alegre, a founder of the Literary Society Parthenon, with the object of research to organize a collection of his poetry, originally published in Bromélias, Flores da morte, of his own books, Revista Arcadia, of Rio Grande, Revista Partenon Literário and Jornal A Reforma, Jornal do Comércio and Correio do Povo, all of Porto Alegre, suggesting the recovery and organization of the same, with the support of the principles of textual criticism. The poems of this writer are in books and journals, often with pseudonyms, which on the one hand, hinders the collection of material and, secondly, requires identification of these pseudonyms, to determine authorship of texts. The end result of the research presents a comprehensive set of poems by Apollinaire Porto Alegre, valuable documentation for the enrichment of literature studies on South Rio Grande. / A recuperação histórica de documentos autênticos que comprovem a existência de obras, autores e fatos literários ainda apresenta muitas lacunas nos estudos sobre a trajetória da Literatura Brasileira desde seus primórdios. O Rio Grande do Sul não fica fora desse quadro, merecendo, assim, uma investigação atenta no que se refere a sua vida literária. Com vistas a contribuir para um maior conhecimento das fontes de sua literatura, esta tese de Doutorado enfoca o poeta Apolinário José Gomes Porto Alegre, um dos fundadores da Sociedade Partenon Literário, tendo por objeto de pesquisa a organização de uma coletânea de sua obra poética, publicada originalmente em Bromélias, Flores da morte, livros de sua autoria, Revista da Arcádia, de Rio Grande, Revista do Partenon Literário e nos jornais A Reforma, Jornal do Comércio e Correio do Povo, todos de Porto Alegre, propondo a recuperação e a organização da mesma, com o apoio dos princípios da Crítica Textual. Os poemas desse escritor encontram-se em livros e em periódicos, muitas vezes com pseudônimos, o que, por um lado, dificulta a recolha do material e, por outro, impõe a identificação dos mesmos pseudônimos, para determinação de autoria dos textos. O resultado final da pesquisa apresenta um conjunto exaustivo dos poemas de Apolinário Porto Alegre, documentação valiosa para o enriquecimento dos estudos sobre a literatura sul-rio-grandense.
