The building is divided into 3 parts - A, B, C, that are connected by 2 floors of underground garages and the first floor, where are situated commercial premises. There are apartments located on the next 5 floors, 18 of them in each part, with a layout of 2+kk and 3+kk. Tensta-Spånga stadsdelshus

Stööp, Andrèe January 2020 (has links)
The house is based on a GLT pillar and beam-construction with large glazing between the wooden structure. Along the two most importants areas, the square and the courtyard, the pillars create an arcade on entry level. The arcade merges into glazed balconies facing the square and glazed corridors facing the courtyard on the upper levels. The goal with the district hall is to create an open and welcoming feeling. That is why there is no level in the building which is completely shut off from the public. Every floor has public meeting rooms available for everyone to book and the rooms are connected to the balconies also available for everyone to use. The use of large glazing is also providing an open feeling where you don’t disappear into the building but you have a connection to the outside. Timber was chosen as main material since it has a lot of advantages. Partly because it is one of the most eco-friendly materials to use, but also because it has positive effect in an office environment. Because of this, the construction is visible from the inside of the building, bringing the timber into the work environment.

Arcade-style game design: postwar pinball and the golden age of coin-op videogames

DeLeon, Christopher L. 06 April 2012 (has links)
Several major design elements that we often take for granted in early coin-op videogames-including rule automation, real-time button play, and fiction as static theme-originated decades prior as innovations within the pinball industry. These similarities occurred on account of a number of key personnel doing leading work in both industries, convergent evolution around the business model shared by both game forms, and an irreversible trend of coin-op games becoming more differentiated and having better contextualized objectives. Although echoes of these qualities exist in more modern videogames, the relatively pure combination of these traits in early coin-op games resulted in a type of game style unfamiliar, or even off-putting, to players whose gameplay experiences are limited primarily to newer games from the past two decades. Because the coin-op gameplay formula achieved high replay value with little content, and required only minimal instruction, aspects of it have been rediscovered within the modern casual games movement and indie mobile games. Patterns from the historical relationship between pinball and coin-op videogames can serve as a lens for gaining another perspective on more recent issues and trends in the game industry, from the inherent issues with motion control to the rapid industry-changing shift toward social games.

Velký dům pro malé město / A Great House for a Small Town

Vilém, Jakub January 2016 (has links)
The main aim of this master thesis was to find a key usage of decaying girls' and boys' hall of residence on the premises of the ZŠ and ISŠ school in Rousínov, which is located in a complex of terraced family houses, situated 100 metres south from the town square and to integrate it with both school organism and town surroundings. The former hall of residence will provide space for student community center with public library and a new building of a single-storey house with arcade connecting the sport, cultural, catering and relaxing facilities and also Tyršova and Za Záložnou streets. The roof of the new building will become a school square with the view of the main dominant feature of the town – St. Mary Magdalena church. The access to the square is possible both from the arcade and newly reconstructed buildings and also from the elementary school building. The streets of a whole complex will be decorated with greenery, student gardens for fruit trees and crops and with a parking space for the visitors of library and other public places.

Obnova zámku v Ivanovicích na Hané / Reconstruction of the chateau in Ivanovice na Hane

Studnička, Michal January 2021 (has links)
The aim of this master’s thesis is to create an architectural study of restoration and renewal of the Ivanovice na Hané chateau and a proposal of a rearrangement of the adjacent park. The chateau is currently owned by the Bioveta company and is not utilized in any meaningful way. The proposed concept arises from the requirements and initiatives of the current owner, who wishes to revitalize the area and transform it into a presentable seat of the company. The design is based on constructional-historical research and other analyses to maximize the preservation of the object’s historical values along with fulfilling the client’s needs and enriching the social life of the community.

Vývoj arkádové centrály v sakrální architektuře a její význam v rámci průnikové barokní architektury / Evolution of the arcade central in sacral architecture and its importance in the penetration baroque Architecture

Galia, Milan January 2018 (has links)
Evolution of the arcade center in sacral architecture and its importance in the penetration baroque Architecture Anotace: The topic of my diploma thesis will be a central unit, whose main architectural motif is a series of arcades. As such, it is specific to the Baroque architecture and I believe that it forms the core of so-called penetrating architecture. After describing the genesis of this type in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, I will try to introduce the meaning of the arcade headquarters within the baroque architecture of southern Germany (especially Bavaria and Frank) and Bohemia - in the areas they have adopted and creatively developed the ideas of complex and penetrating plan layouts. The aim of the thesis is to try to create a different perspective on the formation of the radical Baroque architecture in the Central European space. Keywords: baroque, architecture, space, arcade, building, penetration
