Konstruktion av solföljare med LDR och GPS : Självständigt arbete i teknisk fysik / Construction of solar tracker with LDR and GPS

Strid, Albin, Magnusson, Love January 2021 (has links)

Living With Things : An open-source approach to the exploration of IoT through speculative design and hacking

Alushi, Nefeli January 2021 (has links)
In the field of human-computer interaction, the majority of domestic IoT and smart devices run on proprietary software that possess limited technical properties and predetermined functionalities. As practices of building, modifying, and making IoT applications grow, this thesis follows an open-source approach to IoT to investigate the relationships of humans and things in a domestic setting. As a result of this material exploration, proprietary frameworks for interactions with smart devices are challenged through speculative scenarios, that include diverse instances of human-things interactions. Thus, a research through design methodology is suggested to support series of experiments, conducted to explore instances of perceived intelligence of these open-source hardware, without the use of advanced computational systems as proprietary devices entail. The suggested process is the creation of a speculative design artifact that combines hacking practices, to support designers in generating insights and to further iterate on possible open-source IoT interactions.

Integrating a Brain Control Interface towards the Development of a Retrofitted, Low-Cost, Open Sourced, Electric Wheelchair

Ta, Christopher Ian 08 1900 (has links)
The Emotiv Insight is a commercially available, low-cost, mobile EEG device that is commonly overshadowed by its costlier counterpart, the Emotiv EPOC. The purpose of this report is to investigate if the Emotiv Insight is a suitable headset to be used as a controlling factor in conjunction with an Arduino microcontroller and various electrical components that are used towards the development of an open-sourced, affordable electric wheelchair with the primary goal of providing those who either do not have the financial resources or the physical capability to operate a traditional wheelchair due to their disability a viable option to improve their quality of life. All of the C++ code, STL files used to fabricate the 3d-printed components are uploaded to a GitHub repository as open sourced files to allow individuals with access to a 3d-printer to either build the open sourced wheelchair for their personal use, or refine the design to suit their needs.

Teaching Introductory Programming Concepts: A Comparison of Scratch and Arduino

Beug, Anne 01 June 2012 (has links)
Computing has become an integral part of modern America. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates that between 2008 and 2018, the United States will have 1.4 million job openings in computing fields [1]. Since the early 2000's (just after the "dot com bust"), the number of students enrolled in computing majors (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, etc.) dropped precipitously by over 50%, only starting to rise again in 2009 [2]. One way to rectify to this gap between demand and supply is to start training students in computational thinking during high school. While the Computer Science Advanced Placement AB test has been retired, a new AP test called "CS Principles" has been added to the suite of tests [3], highlighting the importance of computing to a modern education. Not only will we need more computing professionals, people in other professions will need to have computing skills. We propose in this thesis a comparison of two computing platforms. Scratch is a well-proven platform that teaches core programming concepts through a graphical programming interface. Arduino boards are open-source microcontrollers with an accompanying development environment and C-like language. We develop a parallel curriculum in Scratch and Arduino and compare the two. While we are unable to draw conclusive results from our quantitative study, from our qualitative research we see that Arduino is unsuitable for teaching core programming concepts to computing novices.

Cykelmätare : Säkerhetssystem, datainsamling och lokalisering

Hedström, Douglas, Ekstrand, Oskar January 2021 (has links)

Vrba, Marek January 2012 (has links)
The main target of this thesis is to design and realize a prototype of a high capacity battery charger. The charger has been designed as a switching power supply based on a Flyback convertor with two transistors. As switching transistors the integrated circuit IR2110 has been selected. The convertor is controlled by a microcontroller board based on ATMega328 called Arduino Uno; some parts of the Arduino Uno Starter Kit are also used as LCD display, relay and button. In addition, an auxiliary source has been made; this one powers the integration circuit IR2110 and Arduino Uno board. Furthermore, this work introduces us to the processes of charging lithium batteries, types of lithium batteries and methods of charging the lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery.

Návrh kardiostimulátoru typu "On Demand" řízeného mikropočítačem / Design of the On Demand Pacemaker controlled by Microcontroller

Jarošová, Veronika January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this diploma work is the suggestion and realization of a cardiostimulator of „On Demand“ type operated by microcontroller. The work is structured on four thematic parts. For the correct suggestion of the whole system, firstly is necessary to understand correctly the cell’s electrophysiology and heart’s anatomy, inclusive the cardiology arrhytmia, which are adherent to cardiostimulators. The cardiostimulator is inhibited by the R-wave and is adaptive on a pulse rate of a source signal. The whole system is supplied by batteries and this supplying is taken into consideration. The network’s functionality is realized on the ECG simulator. There are suggested the suitable enhancements in discussion.

Řízení myoelektrické protézy / Controlling of myoelectric prothesis

Tomanová, Markéta January 2014 (has links)
The Master´s thesis summarizes the knowledge about controlling of myoelectric prostheses. The Introduction part of this work provides an overview of the anatomy of muscles and their contraction. In case of restricted function of hand, it is necessary to compensate this deficiency by using prosthetic limbs. Among one of the most technically difficult is robotic prosthesis. In this semestral work is myoelectric prosthesis replaced by a robotic arm. Arm is controlled by the electromyographic signals. The signals are recorded by Biopac acquision unit, then processed in LabVIEW and robotic system is controlled by the Arduino platform.
