The purpose of the submitted diploma thesis is to describe, analyse and primarily compare the legal status of commercial banks as a specific type of joint stock company under the Act No. 21/1992 Coll., the Banking Act, as amended, and the legal status of regular join stock companies under the Act No. 90/2012 Coll., on Business Companies and Cooperatives (the Corporations Act) which are not supervised by the Czech National Bank. The diploma thesis is divided into eight chapters where each of them is dealing with a different aspect of bank's business activities. The first chapter is dedicated to a brief analysis of the term bank. The second chapter is more extensive because it provides fundamental legal characteristic of incorporation and commencement of the legal existence of both a bank and regular joint stock company. In this chapter, I also compare bank's Articles of Association to regular joint stock company's Articles of Association. Attention is also given to the concept of banking license. Third chapter may be considered as the key part of this diploma thesis because it contains analysis of the bank's organisation including a description of its specifics. The subject matter of this thesis is to approach prudential requirements for banking activities in the Czech Republic. Taking into account the importance of the banking sector in the economy of each country, this area is widely regulated by directly applicable European legislation, for example by new regulation (EU) No. 757/2013 of the European parliament and of the Council of 26 June 2013 on prudential requirements for credit institutions and investment firms. National regulation is contained mainly in Act No. 21/1992 Coll., on Banks, as amended. Particular chapters of this thesis focus first on general introduction to banking, i.e. a description of the banking systems and institutions operating in them. One part is devoted to the Czech National Bank as the institution of the financial market supervision. The main part describes specific rules of banking activities, beginning with requirements for obtaining a banking license. Finally are mentioned financial safety net and the issue of the doctrine too- big-to-fail. Diploma thesis tries to connect the theory and the legislation with the practical functioning of supervision. Central banks world-widely are institutions of crucial importance for economics of their countries, especially during the years of financial instability, in some cases having also an influence to other economies. The thesis deals with the topic of Czech National Bank (as the central bank of the Czech Republic), its legal position within the Czech legal system and its activities with regards to dynamic development in this area in recent years. The thesis is divided into chapters accordingly to its name and the subject matter. Introduction aims to introduce into topic, briefly describes the structure of the thesis. Introduction is followed by two main chapters - "Legal position of the CNB" and "Activities of the CNB", respectively. These chapters are composed of fractional subchapters and more fractional parts. Thesis is ended by conclusion. Second chapter analyses constitutional provisions relating to Czech National Bank and statutory provision included in Act No. 6/1993 Coll., on the Czech National Bank, with references to respective provisions of law of the European Union. Vícekriteriální analýza běžných účtů na českém bankovním trhu / Multicriteria analysis of current accounts on the Czech banking market

This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of current accounts on the Czech banking market. Its goal is to find the most appropriate accounts for different types of clients. The work is divided into three parts. The theoretical part describes the problem of multicriteria decision making, basic concepts and principles, methods for calculating weight of the criteria and individual methods of multicriterial evaluation of alternatives. The second part is devoted to the description of the currently offered current accounts for individuals and a description of the selected criteria according to which the individual alternatives are evaluated. The last computational part tries to find the most appropriate accounts for those clients. Weights are calculated using the scoring method and DEMATEL method. Subsequently, the best accounts are selected by WSA, TOPSIS, ELECTRE III and MAPPAC. The calculations are made by using MS Excel add-in application Sanna.

The aim of this thesis is a financial analysis of Fio bank during the years from 2011 to 2015. The thesis is divided into four parts. The first part deals with financial analysis itself, its objectives, limitations, and used indicators. The second part consists of basic information about Fio bank, its brief history, and introduction of two competitive banks. Bank sector is characterized in the third part. Financial analysis of Fio bank is performed in the last part. For higher complexity, results of Fio bank are compared with results of two other competitors, Equa bank and Air bank. At the end of the thesis, results of the analysis are summarized together with assessment of the bank´s financial situation.

Diploma thesis focus on topic about marketing communication chosen bank. Aim of this thesis is analyze current marketing communication of Waldviertler Sparkasse Bank AG and propose recommendation. Structure of this thesis is three parts, theoretical, practical and final recommendations. First part is focused on marketing theory and communication mix of services. First chapter of practical part contained presentation of chosen bank and analyses current marketing activities. Bank was compared with other competing bank subjects with positioning map, semantic differential and my own observation. For purpose of thesis were used two survey, first survey compared chosen bank institutions and second was about bank marketing. At the end was evaluated current communication of Waldviertler Sparkasse Bank AG and recommendation how improve communication for more effectiveness.

This thesis concerns measurement and management of operational risk within banks. First the Basel II concept is described. Following part focuses on definition of operational risk, description of its subparts, methods of how to measure it and phases of the management process. Methods of how to control and mitigate the operational risk are also defined in this section. Last part focuses on analysis of principles and standards which every bank should follow to effectively identify, assess, monitor and control/mitigate the operational risk. A questionaire which can be used to identify the level of operational risk within a bank is proposed in this section.
