The aim of this thesis is to analyze the develoment of banking system in the Czechoslovakia during Great Depression between years 1929 - 1933/34. For outlining the context, it is important to briefly focus on the characteristics of the great Depression, its course inthe Czechoslovakia and its impact on paticular sectors in the Economy. the main part od the thesis is focused on the National Bank in Czechoslovakia, its monetary policy and its behaviour during the Depression, and also on the impact of Depression on commercial banks.

The aim of this thesis is to describe and analyse the law position and activities of Czech national bank. The content of thesis is composed of three imaginary parts. In first one the historical development of central banking on Czech territory is described. It is devided into four chapters respecting the chronological development. The thesis is focused on a state of current legislation mainly, therefore the second and third part creates a widest portion of the thesis. The second part examines a framework of constitutional relations of Czech national bank and president, Parliament and goverment particularly, and the independency and aim of CNB in 7 chapters. The third part concerns with statutory law and is composed of 7 chapters also. It deals with a variety of activities of Czech national bank. Introduction, conclusion, abstract, key words and source list are drawn in other parts.

This diploma thesis deals with the Maastricht convergence criteria and their fulfillment in the Czech Republic. The foundation and evolution of European Union and eurozone will be introduced in the theoretical part of the thesis. Also, the Maastricht convergence criteria will be described theoretically in this part. In the practical part, the GDP, export and import growth will be described since joining the European Union. Then, the fulfillment of the Maastricht convergence criteria will be defined. In the next chapter, there will be adumbrated the process of the adoption of euro currency in Slovakia.Then the slovak GDP, export and import growth will be described since joining the European Union and compared to the Czech Republic. The end of the thesis is focused on the people´s attitudes towards the adoption of euro currency in the Czech Republic.

The thesis is focused on issue of monetary policy of the Czech National Bank and on application of its tools. The first part is devoted to explaining basic concepts related to the Czech National Bank and to defening its role in the banking system. The descriptive part is also dedicated to explanation of the role of monetary policy and the essence of the individual instruments of this policy. The practical part of the thesis deals with the usage of direct and indirect instruments of monetary policy, which affect not only the banking sector in the Czech Republic, but also the other economic indicators such as GDP growth, interest rate, then the discount, lombard and repo rate. All these aspects are important not only for residents of the Czech Republic, but also for potential foreign investors and business partners, for which serve as a measure of economic development of state.

Vliv nízkonákladových bank na bankovní trh ČR / Influence of low-cost banks on banking trade in the CR

The aim of the thesis is to analyse in what ways the entry of the low-cost banks in the banking market in the Czech Republic influenced the fee policy of the large banks. The intermediate aim of the thesis is to find the most appropriate bank for a particular client. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the situation and the development of the banking in the market economy, with the banking system, the financial market, the general overview and the bank products specification. Basic terms closely connected with the bank account are explained. In the practical part low-cost banks working in the Czech banking market are introduced. Here is where their basic market results are compared and the development of the clients number of the low-cost banks in the course of time is presented. In the analytical part the comparison of bank fees related to the use of the current account is shown on the examples of model clients (passive, average and active client) with the three largest banks in the banking market in the Czech Republic before the entry and after the entry of low-cost banks. Hereafter the fees between particular banks on the present conditions in the market are compared. From the analysis follows that the most suitable institution offering the considered services free are Fio Bank and Air Bank with the profile Passive Client and UniCredit Bank and Equa bank with the profiles Average and Active Client.

This thesis deals with changing over to a new currency (euro) in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part focuses on the information about European integration and the establishment of the economic and monetary union. Further it explains Maastricht convergence criteria and finally summarizes the key milestones of integration of the Czech Republic into the EU. The practical part is devoted to the realization of the objectives of this thesis. The main objective deals with analysis of the convergence criteria in the Czech Republic. Secondary objects of this thesis solves the effect of adoption the euro for one thing on economic entities (consumers, companies and government) and for another the main changes in the activities of the Czech National Bank.

Inflation Targeting as a Monetary Indicator of Central Banks Abstract The diploma thesis on the subject "Inflation Targeting as a Monetary Indicator of Central Banks" aims to compare the successfulness of the inflation targeting executed by the Czech National Bank and the European Central Bank. Inflation targeting as a monetary- political regime was used for the first time almost 30 years ago and its merit is to influence the inflation rate based on the adjustments of short-term interest rates and the stabilization of inflation expectations. It is based on the accountability of central banks to fulfill the set target, their transparency and communication with the public, for example via publishing the macroeconomic prognoses. The first chapter of the diploma thesis aims to define the term central bank and inflation targeting. It deals with the purpose of central banks, their instruments to pursue monetary policy, independence and accountability of central banks, and determines the rule of central banks' monetary policy. The Czech National Bank, its legal position and scope of activities This diploma thesis evaluates the legal position and scope of activities of the Czech National Bank through the analysis of the current legislation, literature and other sources. Partial aspects affecting the legal position and activities of the Czech National Bank are described separately, but due to their mutual connections it is important to see them as a part of the whole context. The thesis also points at questionable issues and offers both expert's as well as author's attitudes. This diploma thesis is divided into five chapters. The aim of this thesis is the analysis and subsequent comparison of two different systems of central banking in the centrally planned and liberal market economy in the Czech Republic from 1948 until now. The basic parameters of the analysis are monetary policy, independence of central banking and the regulation and supervising of banking sector. The theoretical part deals with economic theory and the theory of central banking, especially monetary policy, exchange rate policy, theory of regulation, theory of independence, theory of supervising and how different economical schools are looking on this issue. Analytical part is divided into analysis and comparison of the two periods on the basis of specific parameters - legislative and legal anchorage, institutional support, monetary policy, supervisory function and independence. From the final comparison, based on the valuation of the pros and cons, is obvious that a system of liberal economy banking is more successful and more sustainable for the future, because it is based on a high degree of central bank independence, which is trying to fulfill its primary goals regardless of the ruling political power.
