Hoduláková, Barbora January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the iconography and cult of St. Joseph in the Czech lands during the Baroque period. The first part of the thesis deals with the way St. Joseph is presented in sources, namely in canonical gospels, apocryphal gospels of childhood and in legends. The development of the cult and iconography of St. Joseph from antiquity to modern times is also outlined. The main part of the thesis focuses on the cult and iconography of St. Joseph in the Czech lands in the 17th and 18th centuries. The influence of the Habsburgs on the spread of this cult is taken into account. Attention is paid to the reception of St. Joseph among the patron saints of Bohemia and the introduction of his public holiday in 1654, which arose on the initiative of Emperor Ferdinand III. The next part of the thesis analyzes the responses to the reception of St. Joseph among the patron saints of Bohemia in art and also on the examples of his depiction in Baroque art in the Czech lands. Barokní znakové galerie. Heraldická reprezentace šlechty, duchovenstva a měšťanstva, její interpretace a možnosti využití / The baroque heraldic gallery of coats of arms. Heraldic representation of nobility, clergy and burghers, its interpretation and application possibilities

Oulík, Jan January 2012 (has links)
This article focuses on Baroque heraldry, specifically the phenomenon of galleries of coats of arms in the Bohemian lands during the post-White Mountain period. Using auxiliary historical sciences methods, three sets of coats of arms from 1660-1690 are analysed: 1. Heraldic coats of arms and insignia of benefactors on sixteen paintings of the Saint Wenceslas series in the Basilica of St. Wenceslaus in the pilgrimage area of Stará Boleslav near Prague; 2. A set of three painted coats of arms in stucco cartouches on the triumphal arch of the Chapel of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles Borromeo in the former Vlašský Hospital in Prague's Lesser Town; 3. Heraldic coats of arms and insignia on ten wooden plinths of statues of Bohemian patrons in the archdeanery church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Tachov. The article yields a series of named sets of coats of arms, and the identification of most persons to whom they belonged to, including a comparison with coats of arms presented in other sources (seals, designs on deeds for coats of arms, old prints). With the placement into a wider historical context and an analysis of the donor structure, the article also points to the composition of the elite at that time, stemming from a range of higher and lower nobility, clergy and burghers, and to the need to make...

Jazyková analýza barokního kázání / Linguistic analysis of a Baroque Homily

FRIEDRICHOVÁ, Petra January 2011 (has links)
In the thesis Language Analysis of Baroque Sermon I deal with the morphological level of the Baroque sermon written by Karel Václav Černý Medotekoucí sláva na hůře Libanu (Fame on Liban Mountain) dating back to 1727. The thesis is a follow-up of my bachelor thesis analyzing the syntactic level of sermon. Besides this it involved the exposition concerning the Baroque time and the Saint John of Nepomuk. For this reason I do not state this information in my thesis. The thesis is based on the research of grammatical means applied in the text, as in view of the scope the thesis could not be focused on the lexical and stylistic level. Theoretical base are for me the present as well as the historical grammar books. I classify word classes acquired by excerption and focus on their characteristic features. I try to prove everything by examples found in the text. The target of this thesis is to compare the Baroque grammatical means with the means of the present Czech language.

Jazyková analýza barokního historického textu / A Linguistic Analysis of a Baroque Historical Text

VESELÁ, Jaroslava January 2012 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis is a linguistic analysis of a defined part of the first volume of Jan František Beckovský´s baroque chronicle. The theoretical level approaches the life of the author, it summarizes his works and introduces the chronicle called Poselkyně starých příběhů českých I written in 1700 itself. The analysis deals with the phonological and lexical levels of the chronicle in several thematic wholes. Less attention was paid to the morphological and stylistic levels. The syntactic structure of the chronicle was not analysed there. The thesis aims at discussing the basic phonological features of the high Baroque style language and presenting the vocabulary specifics of a historiographical text.
