Colaboração e jogos eletrônicos : observações acerca do game design de Dota 2 visando o desenvolvimento de jogos MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena)

Romanus, Juliana Saldanha January 2016 (has links)
Abstract: This dissertation describes the relationship between collaboration and electronic games. Electronic games are considered a new human-computer interaction (HCI) media in relation to the history of computing and design. The potential of this media as a collaborative environment among people has not been sufficiently studied and understood. The question that guides the research is to foster collaboration within a video game. The world of games is wide and subdivided, for these reasons this study is delimited to multiplayer games mode specifically MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena). That method was chosen to encompass dynamic teams and for being considered the game mode most commonly used today. The research development process was initially for a systematic literature search, then unsystematic higher definition search, intuiting the completion of the literature documentary research was also used. The goal of these first steps was the establishment of the theoretical foundation of the research and the development of interaction assay protocol. After the fulfillment of these methodological procedures and data collection, through the interaction test, it was performed a comparison between data in the form of triangulation. This process culminated in the drafting of observations on the Dota2 game aiming to provide bases for the Game Design with encouraging collaboration between MOBA players. "The remarks may serve to aid the professionals working in the development of electronic games (Game Design) whose office impacts directly usability aspects of new games. Keywords: Collaboration, MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), Electronic Games, Game Design.

Investigation into the aerodynamic effects of simulated battle damage to a wing

Irwin, Andrew J. January 1999 (has links)
A key stage in the design-cycle of a military aircraft is the assessment of its vulnerability to hostile threat mechanisms. Such mechanisms inflict battle-damage to the aircraft structure and systems. This experimental investigation considered the aerodynamic consequences of simulated battle-damage to a two-dimensional wing. Key assumptions and techniques were identified leading to the modelling of both gunfire and missile fragmentation damage. Wind tunnel balance measurements were undertaken, together with surface pressure measurements and flow-visualisation methods. Force and moment results indicated extensive changes in coefficient values, whilst both smoke and surface visualisation paint successfully indicated the flow mechanisms present. Using these techniques the influences of damage and experimental variables were investigated, including damage type, size, location and Reynolds Number. Studies were also made into cases of multiple gunfire holes and the influence of internal wing construction. Results indicated that damage at quarter and half-chord locations gave greater coefficient changes than those seen for either leading or trailing edge damage. This was primarily due to reductions in the upper surface pressure peak due to through-flow. Such reductions were seen to extend in both a chordwise and spanwise direction. The flow mechanism identified indicated both similarities and differences to those of flat-plate jets in crossflows. Analysis of both gunfire and missile damage data lead to the development of a set of empirical relationships, which related damage location and size to coefficient changes.

Konsensus a obchodní podmínky: teoretická a komparativní analýza / Consensus and commercial terms: theoretical and comparative analysis

Kočer, Jan January 2015 (has links)
Consensus and commercial terms: theoretical and comparative analysis This final thesis deals with the topic of the battle of the forms using the theoretical apparatus of rules governing the formation of contract. The problem is modeled (and therefore limited) for the case of formation of contract for the sale of goods concluded between merchants when each of them uses his/her own commercial (standard) terms. Another limitation of the thesis is connected with the use of classical contractual paradigm which is based on the continuity of offer and acceptance in the process of contracting. The key element of contract is found in consensus, therefore it is consensus which is analyzed in connection with extensiveness of terms, about which the minds have to meet in order to form the contract, and also in connection with the content of already formed contract. The final thesis has two objectives. First, it is to verify on theoretical level that no matter what principle in the process of formation of contract is used (whether mirror-image rule or not) both law professionals and legal theory are forced to find solutions which are in accordance with the principle of economic analysis of contract. Second, it is to analyze solutions on the formation and content of contract which were adopted by Czech...
