The Boulevard As A Communication Tool / Ataturk BoulevardKesim, Berk 01 October 2009 (has links) (PDF)
The main concern of this thesis is examining the affects and causes of traffic oriented design on the social generation of boulevards in terms of communication. For this purpose, boulevard concept and its historical evaluation are explained. In addition, communication is used as a tool for understanding, combining and examining the social and technical structure of boulevard.
In this respect, this thesis aims to explore the boulevard concept with the spatial communication measures. To provide empirical evidence, a chart of categories of communication is prepared in terms of human and machine interposed aspects of communication. The activities of relation along the boulevard are examined by transversal and longitudinal movements with the help of the behavioral sciences and proxemics and the theoretical relation between boulevard and communication is applied on the case of The Atatü / rk Boulevard, Ankara. It is observed from the findings that, longitudinal movement prior to situated activity is increased, the transversal movement prior to random activity is decreased. This causes the loss of human aspects along the boulevard, which is designed for human.

Previous issue date: 2011-08-12 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This paper refers to research in the area surrounding the Boulevard Mall in Campina
Grande, in order to deal with these changes and restructuring in the urban space of
Campina Grande - PB, in the period 1999 to 2011. The research reveals the changes
which have occurred in Campina Grande in the last decade, due mainly (but not
exclusively), to the installation of the Boulevard Mall. Thus, there is a real process in
this period of urban restructuring in the city, represented by the decentralization of some
commercial activities and services in the traditional center, driven by the expansion of
the city in East direction along with the direction of that mall s place. In order to verify
this fact, a survey of urban land use in Otacílio Nepomuceno Street and Severino Cabral
Avenue was conducted, in order to count the number of shops and services, land and
homes. In addition to analyzing these two access roads to the mall, observations of the
streets lying across these pathways were also made. We made the documentary research
through analyzing newspapers, in order to gather information for the period prior to the
construction of the mall, as well as in classified real estate sales in the years after the
inauguration of the project, to see the process of valuation of urban land in this area.In
addition, interviews with some former residents of Catolé neighborhood and with
employees who work in dealerships around the Boulevard Mall were carried out. The
research reveals the formation of a new centrality in Campina Grande, in the area
located in the neighborhoods of Mirante, José Pinheiro and especially Catolé
neighborhood. This process has triggered several changes in space. The Catolé
neighborhood, particularly, used to have exclusively residential profile, but has
undergone intense restatements in the last decade and has become a major area provider
of services, including becoming the unifying area of flows originated not only from
other neighborhoods in the city, as well as from other municipalities in the state, and
neighboring states.
A pesquisa
revela o princípio de formação de uma nova centralidade em Campina Grande, na área
localizada entre os bairros do Mirante, José Pinheiro e principalmente do Catolé. Tal
processo vem desencadeando várias alterações no espaço.
vizinhos.

A Record of the Development of a High School Summer Repertory Company in Plano, Texas from 1978-1981Steele, John A. (John Armin) 05 1900 (has links)
This thesis records data on the development of The Park Boulevard Players, Plano, Texas, as an innovative school district theatre arts program. Data is organized to illustrate program growth based on educational and performance needs of involved students and community citizens. It proves that high school students are capable of producing summer entertainment worthy of community viewing. Being original in form and content, this thesis should serve as a resourceful guide for similar programs. The thesis contains five chapters arranged in chronological order. After Chapter I, Introduction, three chapters span three separate company seasons: June, 1978; June, 1979; June, 1981. The final chapter summarizes the program and presents evaluations and conclusions.

Craft brewery HACCP: prerequisite programs based on good manufacturing practices developed for Boulevard Brewing Company, Kansas City, MO.Baughman, Neal R. January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Food Science Institute / Fadi Aramouni / The brewing industry has, historically, had little food safety regulation. In response to the
September 11th attacks, new legislation culminating in the Food Safety Modernization Act of 2010 was established and reinforced food safety regulations for the brewing industry. Under this expanded regulation, breweries are required to comply with the modernized Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). The regulatory climate for the brewing industry is very complicated. The brewing industry is regulated primarily under the jurisdiction of the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau
and the Food and Drug Administration. Based upon the regulatory environment and business considerations, Boulevard Brewing Company has opted to develop a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan. Before a HACCP plan can be implemented a foundation of prerequisite programs, based on the FDA’s cGMPs, must be in place. Prerequisite programs establish the operational and environmental conditions required for a successful HACCP plan. Failure to comply with the cGMPs can
lead to fines, re‐inspection fees, forced recalls, and possible criminal prosecution. Prerequisite programs were developed for the following areas: facilities, including sanitary design principles, utilities, traffic and product flow; production equipment, including preventive maintenance and calibration; receiving, warehousing, and shipping, including supplier control, chemical control, and raw material
testing; pest control for insects, rodents and birds; cleaning and sanitation under a Master Sanitation Schedule; specifications, including ingredients, products, and packaging materials; personal hygiene for both employees and visitors; and lastly a system of traceability and recall. These prerequisite programs, based on cGMPs, are required to ensure regulatory compliance while minimizing regulatory and fiscal
risks.
