Addo, Richard Amankwah, Mancuso, Giancarlo January 2021 (has links)
Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of social media in building brand and relationship for sport organisations during a global pandemic.   Methodology: The methodology in this study is built on a qualitative method based on a inductive approach. The authors conducted semi-structured interviews when interviewing the sports organisations and fans. Furthermore, a content analysis was employed as it served the aim of the study best. Findings & Conclusion: With regards to building the brand through the use of social media, findings showed that transparency, the history of the club and their image play a vital role in building a distinctive brand. With regards to building their relationship through the use of social media, findings showed that although efforts were made by the hockey clubs to interact and engage fans with various strategies, there was a lack of consistency in order to build their relationship with their fans. Thus, the findings of the study revealed that sport organisations have been able to build their brand as well as maintain their relationship with their fans during the global pandemic through the use of social media. Contribution of the Study: The study has both theoretical contributions and practical contributions. With regards to the theoretical contribution, the study introduces a framework that focuses on what factors influences the effectiveness of social media (SM) use for sports organizations to build their brand and relationship with their fans. Also, to the practical contribution, consistency in interacting and engaging with customers on SM should be a top priority for sport organisations’ relationship managers to build their relationship with fans on SM. Reflections on the Study and Suggestions for Future Research: As the study has been limited to three hockey clubs from Swedish Hockey League, the scope of the study could be broadened in future research. Also, conducting a quantitative method is recommended for future research to determine the link between interaction and engagement. Key Words: Relationship Building, Brand Building, Interaction, Engagement, Social Media, Sports Organisations

Influencermarknadsföring som marknadsföringsstrategi : En kvalitativ studie om varumärkesbygge hos uppstartsbolag / Influencer marketing as marketing strategy

Möller, Amanda, Tengblad, Oskar January 2022 (has links)
As a result of the large number of users on social media, brands need to rethink, adapt and search for new marketing opportunities. One of the fast-growing strategies applied by brands as a result of the shift is influencer marketing. For those brands who want to introduce influencer marketing in their digital strategy, strategic planning is of great importance to reach the right target group. Specifically, the challenges are relevant for start-ups that tend to lack both capital and experience regarding the strategy. Therefore the following study was carried out with the aim of increasing understanding of how strat-ups work with influencer marketing, influencer marketing as a marketing strategy and to highlight the possibilities with the strategy. Based on a qualitative method, semi-structured interviews were conducted where start-ups registered in 2018 or onward acted as informants. It was clarified that a strategic process often fails when a start-up company applies influencer marketing in its digital strategy. Despite this, the informants for the studies state that the strategy went with a successful result and further formed the basis for strong brand building.

Ahlén, Lisa, Collin, Alva January 2023 (has links)
Aftonbladet, Expressen and TV4 Nyheterna are the largest Swedish news media on TikTok, and this essay focuses on how these media outlets evaluate news and what the news selection looks like on the platform. We proceeded from the theory of commercialization, news evaluation and agenda setting in combination with previous research on news evaluation and news selection on social media to answer our questions. A method triangulation worked well in this essay, where the quantitative part answered the question of news selection, while the qualitative part answered the question of news evaluation. The quantitative part is based on 300 TikTok clips and the qualitative part is based on 5 interviews with journalists. The results show that crime is the most common news genre on the app and that the news evaluation is greatly influenced by the target group and the design of the platform. The result also showed that bad and surprising news are the most recurring news values according to the news selection and that news that takes place in Sweden are the most common. Social, political, and economic issues are the news that engages the audience the most and can be seen in the number of shares, likes and comments. The commercialization of journalism is also prominent in the journalists' evaluation of the news on TikTok, as well as which news is published. However, further research is required to understand the relationship between news rating and news selection on TikTok, as well as additional aspects such as framing and angle.

Brand Building for Startups : A brand building framework for startups to establish a coherent and long lasting brand / Varumärkesbyggande för startups : Ett ramverk inom varumärkesbyggande för startups för att etablera och utveckla ett enhetligt och långsiktigt varumärke

Pilz Sonnby, Anna, Knutsson, Pauline January 2022 (has links)
The brand is something every company must deal with whether they like it or not, and as a company grows it develops and works as a way to build recognition, trust, customer loyalty and employee branding (Jones, 2022). In the fast-paced startup environment, the resources are limited, and focus has to be split between different tasks and the most urgent problems are the ones to be dealt with - leaving the rest to be, where the unmeasurable and intangible focus areas such as branding often get deprioritized. The purpose of this study is to investigate the brand development process amongst startups, and to investigate how this aligns with the developed brand building framework for startups. The methods used are of qualitative nature, including 3 exploratory interviews, a literature review, framework development, 8 semi-structured interviews and thematic analysis of the collected data. The thesis resulted in insights on the brand understanding in startups, as well as findings concerning thresholds for startups to invest in their brand work. A varying level of understanding of brand between the startups could be seen, both in regards of what brand includes, but also which building blocks are necessary and how the brand can elevate the business. This paper is expected to contribute both toward a deeper theoretical understanding of branding frameworks for startups as well as working as a practical guide. In practice, this paper will guide startups in how to properly build their brand and keep a balanced approach to brand and how to properly build the brand and brand foundation.
