Apresentamos ainda, algumas aplicações em Biomatemática onde podemos comprovar, em situações concretas, a eficácia, versatilidade e robustez da teoria desenvolvida / Abstract: A p-fuzzy dynamic system is a system whose dynamics is obtained through a fuzzy rule-based systems. ln this work we present an analytical study of the stability of p-fuzzy dynamic systems. We establish necessary and sufficient conditions to existence of equilibrium point for one variable and two variable p-fuzzy systems and, we derive conditions for stability of this point. We saw that, a sufficient condition for existence of equilibrium point is a change of signal in the output of the controller This work still shows, that the stability of an equilibrium point depends, mainly, fuzzy rule-based systems's input-output. Many mathematical results has been found and demonstrated rigorously. We still made many computational experiments and its results show that all developed mathematical theory is efficient. We still present, some applications in Biomathematics where we can prove, in real situations, the efficiency, versatility and robustness of the developed theory in this work / Doutorado / Doutor em Matemática Aplicada

An Investigation of the Attractiveness and Feasibility of Introducing Temocillin to the Swedish or Scandinavian Market

Hultqvist, Lovisa, Jonsson, Cajsa, Kani, Sufyan, Regnell, Julia, Weiden, Lovisa January 2023 (has links)
Antibiotic resistance is a global health concern. Its increasing development is seemingly due to the irresponsible use of antibiotics and their availability. To ensure the correct treatment of patients and avoid unnecessary strain on the individual and society as a whole, it is vital to ensure access to both new and old antibiotics where there is a distinct need. Temocillin is an antibiotic used in the treatment of febrile UTIs. It is currently unavailable in Sweden, although being well-established and proven effective in other European countries. Hence, this report aims to investigate the introduction of temocillin to the Swedish or Scandinavian market in regards to the economic, technical, medical, and regulatory possibilities and barriers. The research is based on literature, internet, and database reviews and empirical data collection through interviews with people of expertise within the fields of antibiotic resistance and concerned aspects. This study emphasizes the great potential of introducing temocillin to Sweden. The evident conclusion drawn is that a production of the antibiotic is not possible in Sweden in the near future. Despite this, an identified supply chain in Europe can enable a role for Sweden as a distribution country. Through a performed break-even analysis, the calculated break-even point and profit margins indicated a low risk of financial loss for a MAH acting as the supplier of temocillin, such as the company Eumedica S.A.. Only 1 % of the Swedish market would have to be covered to break even, and regardless of the estimated volumes of usage upon introduction being either 50 % or 25 % of the total medical need, a profit is likely. In addition, temocillin holds a great medical and social value. However, the obvious obstacle observed is its out-dated documentation. The dossier is of the wrong format, which complicates the regulatory procedure. Thus, this needs to be taken into consideration for an introduction to be possible.

This study identify the break-even-point between Rigid and Flexible pavement use function of the traffic and subgrade support related to cost/m2 and discount rate, through CBR method of Flexible Pavement Design and PCA/66 Rigid pavement design. Consider intervention scenarios of 10 and 40 years with materials variations referred to the pavement structures of the same monetary and temporal landing through dependent variable Net Present Value (NPV). Show that wherever be the design pavement procedures to define the pavement structure in a roadway enterprise is mandatory to come with an economic analysis using the Life Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA) conceptions. As a conclusion is showed to be mandatory to avoid option for a pavement structure that involves initial and interventions costs, based only on its initial costs. The simple initial cost analysis couldn¿t be best option over the investor point of view considering the money cost available in the market / Mestrado / Transportes / Mestre em Engenharia Civil

Economic viability of a floating gas-to-liquids (GTL) plant / Michael Etim Bassey

Bassey, Michael Etim January 2007 (has links)
Today, a large proportion of the world's plenteous offshore natural gas resource are stranded, flared or re-injected due to constraints pertaining to its utilisation. The major constraint in the utilisation of this resource is linked to its properties, which makes it difficult to transport or store. Although the resource presents an excellent opportunity for the Gas-to-Liquid (GTL) technology (process for converting natural gas into high energy liquid fuels with qualities that surpass the most stringent current and future clean-fuel requirements), the further processing of this resource is still impeded by high cost of transportation. However, it is believed that the emerging Floating GTL concept could offer superb opportunities to bring such offshore stranded natural gas reserves to markets by converting the gas into high quality liquid fuels, at the production sites, before it is transported using conventional oil tankers or vessels. But the question is: can this venture be profitable or economically viable? In response, an Economic Model (the EV Model) to review the economic viability of the Floating GTL option was developed. Analyses on technical and economical aspects of the floating GTL application offshore are presented with case studies on Syntroleum's and Statoil's floating GTL designs. Profitability analyses were conducted using the EV model to evaluate economic parameters such as Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Discounted PayBack Period (DPBP), Profitability index (PI), Break-Even Analysis (BEA) and Scale Economies for some assumed case scenarios involving both designs. In addition, sensitivity analyses were also carried out to find the most sensitive parameters which affect the viability of the floating GTL option. The economic analyses revealed that, a modest feedstock cost (~0 - $3/MSCF), high crude oil price (that stays above $30 per barrel) and reduction trend in capital expenditure (for stand alone Floating GTL plant) up to $20,00O/BPD or lower in the next few years, will open windows for the floating GTL concept. Finally, the energy policy needed to achieve the capitalisation of the plenteous offshore stranded gas resource via floating GTL is also discussed. / Thesis (M.Ing.
