Analysis of Covariance with Linear Regression Error Model on Antenna Control Unit Tracking

Laird, Daniel T. 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2015 Conference Proceedings / The Fifty-First Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 26-29, 2015 / Bally's Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, NV / Over the past several years DoD imposed constraints on test deliverables, requiring objective measures of test results, i.e., statistically defensible test and evaluation (SDT&E) methods and results. These constraints force the tester to employ statistical hypotheses, analyses and perhaps modeling to assess test results objectively, i.e., based on statistical metrics, probability of confidence and logical inference to supplement rather than rely solely on expertise, which is too subjective. Experts often disagree on interpretation. Numbers, although interpretable, are less variable than opinion. Logic, statistical inference and belief are the bases of testable, repeatable and refutable hypothesis and analyses. In this paper we apply linear regression modeling and analysis of variance (ANOVA) to time-space position information (TSPI) to determine if a telemetry (TM) antenna control unit (ACU) under test (AUT) tracks statistically, thus as efficiently, in C-band while receiving both C- and S-band signals. Together, regression and ANOVA compose a method known as analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). In this, the second of three papers, we use data from a range test, but make no reference to the systems under test, nor to causes of error. The intent is to present examples of tools and techniques useful for SDT&E methodologies in testing.

Komparácia zdanenia príjmu fyzických osôb v Českej republike a na Slovensku / Comparison of the personal income tax in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

Kocúreková, Juliána January 2015 (has links)
The purpose of this thesis is to compare the personal income tax in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, focusing on the years from 2004 to 2015. The work is divided into two chapters. The first chapter deals with the development and comparison of structural elements of the personal income tax and social security in both countries simultaneously during the period. In the second chapter on model examples of the employee and self-employed individaul is compared the tax burden from 2004 to 2015. For comparison, the tax burden on an employee's is used average tax rate and effective tax wedge. For self-employed person is also calculated average tax rate and total tax burden.

Porovnání různých způsobů stanovení výchozí ceny pro ocenění rodinných domů nákladovým způsobem / Comparison of Various Methods of Determining the Default Price during the Assessment of Family Houses Using the Cost Method

Háva, Karla January 2011 (has links)
This thesis presents a comparison of different methods of determining the default price for family house by using cost valuation method. Here are compared the default rates found in specific houses by itemized budget, calculating according to technical and economic indicator and obtained under the Ministry of Finance to implement certain provisions of Act No. 151/1997 Coll. Using charts and graphs shows the results for valuation individual houses and their variances. The aim is determine the price shares of construction and equipment of the itemized budget of houses created for this work and compare them to share price valuation in the annex to the Decree Ministry of Finance, perhaps to make an attention to differences or shortcomings in price share valuation announcement.

Vliv změny požárně technických charakteristik na požárně bezpečnostní řešení stavby gymnázia / Effect of the changes of fire technical characteristics on the fire safety solution of gymnazium

Kaczyński, Marek January 2013 (has links)
This thesis examines how the changes of fire technical characteristics could affect the fire safety solution of gymnasium. The fire safety solution was developed for this object. The idea is to prove, that this object, which was designed in 1995, meets current requirements for fire safety of buildings. The method and principles of this solution are described in the introductory part of this thesis. For unsuitable solution was designed modification of this solution, which meets the requirements of fire safety solution of gymnasium. This modification is focused on designing new escape routes. In the next part of thesis is designed object with different operational use - hotel. Subsequently are shown differences in assessment of fire safety solution of building gymnasium and hotel. In the end of this thesis is explained why the fire solution of gymnasium was unsatisfactory, and what are the main differences in assessment of objects with different operational use.

Optimizing Engineered Tendon Development via Structural and Chemical Signaling Cues

Thomas Lee Jenkins II (16679865) 02 August 2023 (has links)
<p>The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles and tendons in the shoulder that function to lift and rotate the arm. Rotator cuff tendon tears are increasingly common: more than 545,000 rotator cuff surgeries occur annually in the US. However, treatment is often complicated by disorganized collagen matrix formed via fibrosis and results in high re-tear rates. Tendon tissue engineering seeks to solve the problem using biomaterials to promote neo-tendon formation to augment repair or regenerate tendon. However, while current biomaterials provide the opportunity to improve tendon healing, they frequently still exhibit fibrosis in preclinical studies. Therefore, a critical need exists to understand the mechanisms of aligned collagen formation when designing biomaterials for tendon tissue engineering. Matrix architecture and transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 4 (TRPV4) regulate aligned collagen formation during tenogenesis in vitro, but the mechanism remains to be determined. Recently, TRPV4 stimulation was found to induce nuclear localization and activation of transcriptional co-activators Yes-associated protein (YAP). YAP expression is upregulated during tendon development, a process characterized by aligned collagen formation, and in response to physiological mechanical stimulation, suggesting it could play an important role in tendon. The objective of this work is to improve tissue engineering strategies and progress toward making a device that regenerate tendon after injury. Aim 1 incorporates tendon-derived matrix into synthetic polymer scaffolds to add biological signaling cues to induce tenogenesis. Aim 2 uses a 2D photolithography system (microphotopatterning) to optimize architectural and structural cues to promote stem cell differentiation toward tenogenic, chondrogenic, and osteogenic lineages. Aim 3 investigates dynamic tensile loading protocols to promote collagen matrix synthesis and improve engineered tendon mechanical function. Aim 4 investigates the role of TRPV4 and YAP in collagen alignment during engineered tendon development.</p>

Podoby malířské exprese v současném českém umění v kontextu českého a zahraničního umění / Forms of Expression in Painting in Contemporary Czech Art Within a Czech and International Art Context

Ropková, Barbora January 2017 (has links)
This dissertation thesis deals with the work of three contemporary Czech artists - Josef Bolf, Jakub Špaňhel and Lubomír Typlt. The reason for choosing these three was the fact that all of the artists represent the same generation which entered the art scene in the late 1990s and their canvases can be equally described as expressive, although right at first glance there are noticeable differences in the intervention of the emotional and sense elements which participated in the creation process of the work of art, but also in its content. Contemporary expressive paintings are influenced by the development of art in the second half of the 20th century which is based on the continuous comparing of expressive subjectivity and its negation or intentional application and irony. That is why I decided to illustratively explore the movements which took place in terms of the foreign and Czech scene during the second half of the 20th century in the field of expressive painting. Because the Czech art arose in different conditions, I explored the changes of this phenomenon separately in these geographical areas, but at the same time I carried out a partial analysis of the works and comparisons with the work of the three chosen artists based on these findings. Subsequently, I analysed the work of the chosen...
