Andersson, Maria, Persson, Carin January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to create an understanding of how consumers experience the use of digital product catalogs and what kind of value they give them. To investigate this, an observation was made in combination with an interview of ten respondents aged 21–72. The respondents had to find and use one of three pre-selected digital catalogs in the category of rare goods and then describe their user experience. The researchers worked on an interview guide in connection with the interviews, which took 15–20 minutes each. The results show that most respondents experience some type of difficulty in the use of the digital catalogs and when they were given the choice, only one out of ten preferred a digital catalog over a physical one. In addition, only three of the ten respondents had been in contact with a digital catalog before compared to the physical edition that everyone had used before. Based on this result, it appears that the digitization of product catalogs seems to have reduced its use and consumers no longer come into contact with product catalogs to the same extent when they are presented on digital platforms. The result also shows that most of the respondents believe that the value they get from digital product catalogs is inspiration, regardless of whether they chose a catalog during the observation more based on presentation of assortment than with an inspiring approach. It appeared however, that even with a good experience and the inspirational value most people prefer to search for products directly in companies' online stores instead of using digital product catalogs.

A study of interacanding and companion galaxies: implications for cosmology

Petrillo, Kristen 08 May 2008 (has links)
This paper examined a few different types of interacting galaxies and the implications the data has on cosmological theories. An analysis of the Holmberg Effect, Holmberg (1969)’s observation that companion galaxies tend to be near the poles of edge-on galaxies rather than in the planes, was done by reexamining the spirals viewed by Holmberg. Only using radial velocity confirmed companions to test for this effect showed that if anything, the opposite of the Holmberg effect is true. However, due to small number statistics, more edge-on spirals and their companions would have to be viewed in order to determine if this is an actual physical effect of anisotropic companion distribution around primary galaxies. It is important to discover if there is a preferred distribution, because it could point to the distribution of dark matter around the primary galaxies, and have interesting impacts on large-scale universal structure and cosmology theory.

Katalogizace webových služeb založených na architektuře REST / Catalogization of RESTful webservices

Koch, Ondřej January 2011 (has links)
Currently there is a lot of enterprise middleware platforms based on SOAP-oriented webservices. However common message oriented middleware does not fully satisfy the need of integration small to middle sized services keeping the expenses reasonably low. The main goal of this thesis is to provide the analysis, and achitecture of a catalog for REST based webservices and to provide implementation at least for the purpose of practical examples. This catalog should enable it's users the publication of REST webservices, their categorization, searching, sharing and providing metainformation and therefore providing support for the deployment process, propagation, maintanance and further development and therefore lead to higher standarization of these services. The system should be percieved as a proof of concept of support system of a RESTful MOM.

Imagens de uma escrita a contrapelo. A leitura do que não está escrito

Franceschini, Érica January 2017 (has links)
This work approaches the movements of study and research in the field of Social and Institutional Psychology as an experience in which life and thought are engendered. From then on, we constructed the dissertation as if we were cultivating a construction site, in which we threw seeds on the land, revolved the ground and brought to the surface its findings. In addition, we follow the intensive and extensive movements of the student-researcher, this being a conceptual character, who seeks to sew the plot, based on encounters with other bodies and plats, other images that come to modify the landscape, as well as the look of who finds them. Therefore, we compose this dissertation devoid of pre-established maps or scripts, tracing it by lines of error, death lines, lines between lines, sewing lines, lines in notes, pens, books, moving lines. Lines that are made by the movements of writing and reading, since writing and reading surpass the normativity of its use to receive heterogenous, dissonant elements and in composition that act unpublished images to the research and the study. Such images - which resemble images of search - gain an outside, a place to dwell provisionally, once the attempt is made to produce a catalog-desecrated images of writing against the grain, where fragments appear and multiply, giving to see the power and life of the student-researcher.

The Choral Music of Joseph Willcox Jenkins

Skirpan, Richard 13 May 2011 (has links)
Composer Joseph Willcox Jenkins (b. 1928), longtime professor at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylania (since 1961) and the first arranger for the United States Army Chorus (1956-1959), has composed and arranged a prolific amount of choral music, much of which has remained unpublished. After presenting a brief biography of Jenkins, this essay examines a sample of seven of his choral works, with analyses and scores of each. Catalogs of the choral compositions to which he assigned opus numbers and his U.S. Army Chorus arrangements follow, along with a classified list of remaining choral works and arrangements. The document concludes with the transcription of a conversation between Jenkins and the author about his career and music. It is hoped that this resource for choral musicians will encourage a more widespread knowledge of Jenkins’ choral music, providing increased possibilities for performance and further study.
