#vardeljus : om #metoo-uppropet i Svenska kyrkanTängmark, Karolina January 2019 (has links)
In the autumn of 2017 the #metoo-movement came to change a whole world. In Sweden, many #metoo-movements started, one of which was #vardeljus. #vardeljus means “Let there be light”, and was a movement of anonymous women in The Church of Sweden. The women wanted to illustrate how women have been sexually harassed in the organization. #vardeljus was also a blog with the same name, where the women shared their stories. In this essay, I have studied how the #vardeljus-movement highlighted existing gender structures in The Church of Sweden, and whether or not the movement contributed to an authority displacement. In relation to this, I examined in what way the theory of mediaziation could be useful in the study of these topics. In the making of this study, I have mainly relied on the theory of mediaziation as the main theory. In addition I have also benefited from ideas found in the theory of authority displacement as well as from adding a gender perspective. The text material of my choice was the #vardeljus-movement, publicated in the newspaper Kyrkans tidning, and a selection from the associated blog with same name - #vardeljus. The method of this study has been a systematic text analysis, wherein I have placed my text material in categories. These categories were power, gender structure, sexually harassment and authority displacement. The study found that the #vardeljus-movement illustrated gender structures in The Church of Sweden. These were expressed through sexually harassment, and abuse of power from authorities in the church. Another result of the study was that the movement started a process of an authority displacement, where previously silent stories were heard. In relation to these conclusions, the theory of mediaziation has been used to analyse how these gender structures and authority displacements are presented in the #vardeljus-movement, and how new medias are provided to these conclusions.

Hela Sveriges folkkyrka : En idéanalys av Sverigedemokraternas syn på kristendomen i Sverige och Svenska kyrkan / All of Sweden’s Folk church : An idea analysis of the Sweden Democrats view on Christianity and the Church of SwedenIda, Sotti January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this study is to describe ideas put forward by Sweden Democrats (Swedish: Sverigedemokraterna) about Christianity in Sweden and the Church of Sweden as a Folk Church, a church for a whole people, and how the political party uses Christianity as a part of constructing a Swedish identity. The investigation is based on official documents, newspaper articles, statements and political motions which are analysed using a form of text analysis called idea analysis. The theoretical frame of the investigation is founded on Claire Mitchell’s theory about religious content in ethnic identities and Einar Billing’s and Johan Alfred Eklund’s thoughts about what makes the Church of Sweden a Folk Church. The investigation shows, among other things, that the Sweden Democrats’ view of the Church of Sweden is similar to the thoughts of Eklund but they differ in their lack of references to theology. The investigation also shows that Christianity serves as an important marker for the Sweden Democrats in creating a Swedish identity.

Fyra röster om människan vid dopet : Fyra representanter från Svenska kyrkan och Pingstkyrkan om människosynen i doptraditionenBohnsack, Moa January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate what view of humans that emerges when priests/reverends talk about man in relation to baptism. The study consists of qualitative interviews with four priests/reverends. There were two representatives from the church of Sweden, and two from the Pentecostal church. The aim and questions in the study focus on what view of humans that emerges. Will there be similarities and differences in the view of humans, and is it possible to refer the result to the respective church. The theory that is being used focusses on so called components of how humans are viewed and these components can be seen as building blocks in how a view of humans is formed. The background comes from the varying view of the baptism tradition that exists in Christianity. The church of Sweden mainly baptizes children, whereas the Pentecostal church practices believer´s baptism. The result demonstrates that the reflected view of humans in different ways can prove what each church of the interviewee represents.

Kyrkan som välfärdsaktör? Diakoners uppfattning av ekonomiskt stöd i svenska kyrkanThoms, Nellie January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this essay was to study how deacons view and work with financial support in the Church of Sweden. The questions answered were: What role do deacons consider the church should have in the welfare society concerning financial support? How does a deacon assess when it comes to decisions about financial support and what requirements are being made for the aid? What challenges do deacons face when working with distribution of financial support? The study was made with a qualitative method where five people that work or have worked with financial support in the Church of Sweden were interviewed. The gathered material was then analysed using Gøsta Esping-Andersens theory on welfare states together with a document about guidance for diaconal work produced by the Church of Sweden. The results showed that some informants wished that the church shouldn’t have to be as involved as it is today, while others thought that it was good the way it was but wished for more resources. When it came to making decisions on financial support the informants reasoned in different ways but all seemed to have a base in the theology for diaconal work about being merciful and showing grace. In the end I found that it was hard to say which welfare model Sweden belongs in but that the financial support from the Church of Sweden mainly had a complementary function. It was hard to live up to the theological foundation for diaconal work and at the same time make demands for people looking for help. The informants worked very differently which corresponds to diaconal work being contextually.

Preaching in Times of Pestilence – 1918 and 2020Nystrand, Clara 31 August 2021 (has links)
With the help of sermon manuscripts from the time of the Spanish flu, held within the Church of Sweden, new light is shed on sermons held in the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. The comparison shows, among other things, that a shift has been made in how God is portrayed. It also points to some challenging questions about suffering, hope and the role of eternity in preaching today.

Du med ditt blod, din bittra död, befriar oss från synd och nöd. : Försoningslära i Kyrkohandbok för Svenska kyrkanStumle, Per January 2020 (has links)
This thesis examines atonement theology in the Church of Swedens missal (Kyrkohandbok för Svenska kyrkan) published in 2018. By identifying atonement motifs the thesis identifies and discusses which types of atonement theology that dominates the missal. Four subquestions are used to identify and discuss the atonement theology expressed; Why is atonenment needed? What is atonement? How is atonement acheived? Is there potentially problematic aspects of the atonoment theology that is identified? The atonement theology which is identified is mainly of two sorts. The healing process and the atoning obedience. The thesis then tries to handle one such problematic aspect by discussing how to understand the concept of sacrifice which is central to the atoning obedience and by integrating the atonement theology of divinization, theosis, into the understanding of atonement that is dominant in the missal of the Church of Sweden. The thesis argues that properly understood, sacrifice and divinization offers a way forward in order to understand the theology of atonement in a way both true to the christian tradition and and comprehendible to society in the 21st century.
