Inifrån den svarta lackbubblan : Formell teori om samspelet på en svensk fetischklubb

Eldnatt, Frida January 2007 (has links)

The history of Taiwan hypermarket industry began with the entering of Makro in1989. The same year, the French company Carrefour established a joint-venture with President Group in Taiwan. Besides Carrefour and Makro, companies that joined the market include local brands Geant and RT-MART and international brands like Costco and Tesco. After years of fast booming in the early stage of development, the entire industry has faced stagnancy for years. Why the industry suffered a downturn can be explained from the following aspects: investors are not optimistic about the overall macroeconomic conditions, consumer confidence is too weak, the competition within the Taiwan hypermarket industry is intense, and the strategic groups of all the participants in the markets are similar. All the reasons combined caused some company have no choice but leave the market or change their strategy. Macro left Taiwan market and Tesco Taiwan are included in Carrefour Taiwan. However, not every company in this industry suffered, Costco¡¦s sales increased when the industry top leaders, Carrefour and RT-MART, faced decreasing sales last year. The purpose of the study is to understand how Costco satisfies customer demand through its unique way in the competitive Taiwan hypermarket industry, how Costco makes consumers accept its way of doing business and how this unique business model differs from competitors in terms of operation, profit earning by analyzing the external industry competition, consumer demand that Costco faces and Costco¡¦s internal operation model. Besides internal and external analysis, the author designs a questionnaire that focus on Costco¡¦s customers¡¦ feelings about it.

Developing Book Clubs in High School English Classrooms

Chen, Ying 28 November 2012 (has links)
The focus of this research is to examine the book club as a social context for literacy development. Students in book clubs perceive literature authentically in ways of reading, writing and talking through a variety of interactions. Meanwhile, teachers, by observing students’ learning in book clubs, reflect on their language teaching and lead to an innovation of literacy instruction in schools, which can bridge to a community instructional change for language teachers. In this research, I observed, videotaped, audio-taped, and interviewed high school students and the teacher in an urban Canadian high school, who were involved in English classroom book clubs which replaced the traditional instructional mode of teaching literature, trying to figure out a structure for a classroom book club by comparing to an extracurricular book club and by analyzing the diverse reading experiences of students both in and outside of school.

Impact Analysis of Various Centers of Gravity in the Golf Club Head

Chen, Kuan-hong 29 August 2010 (has links)
The center of gravity (CG) in the golf club head is crucial to the launch angle, launch velocity and spin of golf balls after the golf impact. The CG locations in this study refer to the depth of CG, height of CG and distance of CG, which were determined by the change of shell thickness of a golf club head. By means of the finite element method (FEM), the researcher analyzed the impact process for golf balls and golf head clubs. Then he discussed the relationship between club heads and ball behaviors after impact. He also simulated the trajectory by the numerical method on the basis of the impact results of the golf ball. To sum up, a longer carry was generalized by deeper CG, lower CG and higher loft angle for a golfer with a slow club head speed. A shallower CG, higher CG and lower loft on a club head for a golfer with a fast club head speed were also verified in this study. Finally, a series of impacts produced by FEM and numerical method were generalized. Specifically, the method can be used to predict the flying distance of golf ball. It also can help predict the proper CG locations for golf club head designing.

Analysis of impact effect to Varied shape of Golf Club head

Chang, Ting-jang 07 July 2004 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the function of the different structural designs of golf club head models (including a deep head, a shallow back, and a shallow head) and to get the optimum golf club head through the software simulation. By means of software SolidWorks, the researcher draws three main club head models. The C ++ was used for a linear programming to control the golf club head thickness including an impact face, a crown, a sole, a toe and a heel under the definite weight. The simulation also helps adjust the center of gravity position of the golf club head and integrates with the finite element method software LS_Dyna in analyzing the impact procedure between the golf club head and the golf ball. In addition, the researcher preceded the analysis by replacing the crown surface as carbon fiber reinforcement polymers (CFRP). He also investigated the off-centered hit effects through the impact analysis. It is expected that study findings can be extracted. Through the simulation of the hit effects, the golf club head designers will be inspired to create more effective golf club heads.

The optimal pricing strategy of golf clubs' membership

Hsu, Pei-chi 17 July 2004 (has links)
Due to the increasing of substitution and competition of products, the life cycle of products is shorter than previous time and the perishable has becoming visible for service industry and other related manufacturing industries. Wrong strategy and management of pricing make many companies lose the right opportunity to invest and even trapped in the bad financial structure with the apparent character. More and more private club managers use the concept of yield management to deal with their problems and maximize their benefits because of the property of perishable in recent years. However most researchers study about ways to improve the performance and to understand the distribution of consumers¡¦ recognition instead of realizing the factors impacting the products¡¦ pricing. I will develop an initial pricing model and find out how the relationship among the factors which influence the products¡¦ pricing interacts by this model
