Suchánek, Petr January 2018 (has links)
This thesis occupies itself with the background of the idea of czechoslovakian state through the outlook of national revival and perspective of T. G. Masaryk. The goal is to inquire how the individual components change in time between 19th and beginning of 20th century. For that purpose methods of analysis and comparison of primary texts of authors who occupied themselves with the topic are used. Contribution of this work is in looking at the problem through the lenses of contemporary documents. Main finding is that some of the arguments on which the idea of czechoslovakian state lays are not very solid.

Prelude and Fugue in A Minor by Miloslav Gajdoš A Transcription for Guitar and Performance Guide

January 2017 (has links)
abstract: This research project introduces the Czech composer Miloslav Gajdoš (b. 1948) to classical guitarists through his composition Prelude and Fugue in A Minor, composed in 1998. Gajdoš is a double bass virtuoso who has enjoyed a successful career performing, composing, and teaching. After the fall of the communist regime in Czechoslovakia in 1989, Gajdoš was allowed more opportunities to perform outside the Czech Republic and to become better known throughout the world. His Prelude and Fugue in A Minor, originally for solo double bass, works well on the guitar and is a rewarding piece to learn and perform. A transcription is presented here that is of publishable quality, together with a biography of Gajdoš and a performance guide. The biography was written from available research materials as well as from direct email correspondence with the composer, and includes authorized quotations from those emails. This project also includes a description of the piece together with musical and technical suggestions that will aid the performer in creating a satisfying musical interpretation. Chapter Three includes a description of the left-hand challenges that were encountered while the piece was being transcribed and the solutions that were devised to mitigate them. Finding new pieces to transcribe for the guitar has long been an important activity of serious players, and this transcription adds a substantial and expressive piece to the growing repertoire of the classical guitar. / Dissertation/Thesis / Complete score of the transcription. / Doctoral Dissertation Music 2017

Postavení a činnost české lékařské komory / The position and activities of the Czech Medical Chamber

Klůfa, Jaroslav January 2011 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is the position and activities of the Czech Medical Chamber. Its aim is to analyze the role and purpose of this professional chamber in the Czech Republic. I have chosen this particular topic because I mean that although the self- government of professional associations, especially the Czech Medical Chamber, belongs to very important institutes of the legal order of the Czech Republic; the literature addresses this issue only marginally. The next reason for my research is the fact, that just the Czech Medical Chamber is very questionable professional chamber. The thesis is composed of five chapters; each of them describes particular aspects of Czech Medical Chamber (CMC). Chapter One is introductory and is trying to explain the notions self-government and public corporation. The last part of this chapter deals the political, economic and sociological aspects of the CMC. Chapter Two consists of two parts. Part One surveys historical development of the CMC from year 1891, when the Habsburg monarchy issued a law on the establishment of medical chambers, to the present. Part Two look at medical chambers in other countries of Central Europe and endeavours to compare these organizations. Chapter three is subdivided into two parts. Part One focuses on functions of the CMS and...

Cohort fertility and educational expansion in the Czech Republic during the 20th century

Zeman, Krystof January 2018 (has links) (PDF)
BACKGROUND: During the 20th century the Czech Republic went through profound changes in female employment, gender roles, population and family policies, and public childcare. The educational structure of the female population changed tremendously. At the same time, completed cohort fertility fluctuated between 1.8 and 2.2 children per woman. OBJECTIVE: This article analyses the changes in the level of completed cohort fertility by education, during educational expansion in the Czech population under the economic, cultural, and institutional background of the state socialist regime, and after its breakdown. METHODS: The changes in the level of completed cohort fertility by education are analysed by means of decomposition, complemented by the analysis of parity composition. RESULTS: uring the 20th century, education-specific completed cohort fertility increased, rather than declined. Fertility levels converged upwards, contributing to high uniformity within educational categories. The overall changes in fertility levels were driven by changes in the educational structure. These trends resulted in the dominance of the twochild family, while large families were disappearing and childlessness dropped to the biological minimum. CONCLUSIONS: An egalitarian economic system with traditional family-friendly policies, in combination with a family-unfriendly labour market, developed into a male breadwinner model of low gender equity. Future family policies should focus on the reconciliation of work and family. CONTRIBUTION: he study contributes to the discussion on links between education and fertility, adding a new picture to the mosaic of country-level analyses. The Czech Republic is an example of a country with high educational homogeneity of fertility behaviour where the education-specific levels of fertility converged upwards.

Složená adjektiva v době barokní a jejich vývoj v době národního obrození / Compound adjectives in baroque period and their development in czech national revival

NOVÁKOVÁ, Veronika January 2018 (has links)
Topic of this dissertation are compound adjective, their development and usage during two historical periods. Compounding is on the edge of czech word-formation methods. This method of creating new lexical units has spread the most during Czech National Revival as one way of expanding czech lexicon. Authors used mostly semantic fullness, economy of expression and uncommonness of compounds in both specialized and artistical texts and in both prosaical and poetical texts. Compounding already started to evolve more in Baroque period, compounds were used for their communicative value and unusualness. Basic classification is adopted from monograph Česká kompozita diachronně by Dušan Šlosar (1999), secondarily from monograph Tvoření slov skládáním by Ivana Bozděchová (1994). The aim of the work is to capture development of structures used in adjective compounds formation during these two periods, also to examine their occurences, functions and types, how they developed and changed during the periods of Baroque and Czech National Revival. The work contributes to analytical examination of the historical development of word-formation level of czech language, specifically of the method of compounding.

Inflation Targeting as a Monetary Indicator of Central Banks Abstract The diploma thesis on the subject "Inflation Targeting as a Monetary Indicator of Central Banks" aims to compare the successfulness of the inflation targeting executed by the Czech National Bank and the European Central Bank. The first chapter of the diploma thesis aims to define the term central bank and inflation targeting. It deals with the purpose of central banks, their instruments to pursue monetary policy, independence and accountability of central banks, and determines the rule of central banks' monetary policy. Additionally, it explains medium- and long-term vertical Phillips curve and Taylor's rule. The second chapter addresses the topic of the Czech national bank and aims to describe its function and inflation targeting. It specifies its main purpose, instruments of the monetary policy and...

CAISOVÁ, Lenka January 2007 (has links)
The genus Stigeoclonium is taxonomically very problematic. The relationships between species of this genus are very little known. There are only a few studies that deal with only morphological revision of the genus Stigeoclonium. Hovewer, up to now no phylogenetic analysis of this genus exists. This study summarizes the knowledge about the genus Stigeoclonim in the Czech Republic and shows the first phylogenetic analysis of this genus.
