Developent of a Vending Cup.- Mistral Vending Cup.Núñez Ramos, Patricia, Romero del Hombre Bueno Mérida, Juan January 2009 (has links)
This is a Bachelor Degree Project report based on the design of a plastic vending cup.The project is carried out in cooperation with the company Promens Lidköping, manufacturer of a wide range of plastic products as food packaging, trays, pots, cups andsheets for the food industry. A vending cup is a product used to contain hot beverages which come from vendingcoffee machines. It is a product daily used in many different environments as hospitals, offices, libraries and common places, etc. Consequently it is aimed at a varied public. The redesign was focused mainly on the aesthetics aspect attempting to transmit aninnovative touch that would change the concept of today’s simple vending cup in a waythat it attracts the customer’s attention. The so called Mistral Vending Cup is a plastic cup which is out of the ordinary currentvending cup by means of a new bright colour, orange, and also its innovative shape, inthis field, constituted basically from organic lines and curve surfaces unlike the today’svending cups. The Mistral Vending cup introduces a great change, a new era in thehistory of the vending cups due to its organic shapes never seen in the market.

Examensarbetet – en kvalitetsindikator inom högre utbildning? : exemplet högskoleingenjörsutbildningSvärd, Ola January 2014 (has links)
This thesis focuses on the concept of quality in higher education, more particularly quality of the degree project. The overarching issue is whether an assessment of the quality of a degree project can be used for evaluating the quality of the entire programme where it forms a part. The subject is partly initiated by the design of the quality evaluation system in Sweden introduced in 2011, in which a quality indicator function of the degree projects is vital. The notion of quality in degree projects is analyzed through three perspectives – as articulated in the research literature, as stated in the policy documents and curriculum documents regarding a Swedish engineering programme, and as experienced by the actors – examiners and supervisors – of this same programme. If the three perspectives testify with reasonably equal meaning to the concept of quality, an indicator function of degree projects can be considered appropriate. Different methods have been combined. The policy documents are investigated by a qualitative and quantitative textual analysis, while the perceptions of the examiners and supervisors are explored by in-depth interviews. Results are interpreted by using an arena concept proposed by Lindensjö & Lundgren, and an analysis system suggested by Bernstein. The results show that quality of a degree project is an ambiguous notion, and that different aspects of quality are reflected in the three perspectives. The conclusion is that assuming a quality indicator function of a degree project is problematic and not self-evident. In a formal sense, the degree project course is clearly separated from other modules of the programme, i.e. it is strongly classified. At the same time it is weakly framed and the actors feel near-total freedom in implementing it. Conceivable consequences of the evaluation system used in Sweden since 2011 are also discussed. Uniformity in the design of the degree project course can be expected, as well as undervaluation of the conditions for the programme and the teaching processes of it.

English pronunciation in Swedish Upper Secondary School Students : A qualitative study of Swedish students’ pronunciation tendenciesFlisberg, Julia January 2018 (has links)
Geographically, Sweden is significantly closer to England as opposed to America, two English speaking countries with two rather different varieties of the language. With regard to Britain’s history of colonization it could be assumed that British English (RP-variety) would be most frequently used globally. However, America’s power position in politics, economics, international businesses, and movie industries have contributed to making the American English (GA-variety) the more predominantly used variety of the two (Barber, 2000, p. 236). In the different varieties, the vowels /əu/ /ou/ /ju:/ /u:/ /ɑ:/ /æ/ /ɒ/ /ɑ/ /aɪ/ /i:/ and the consonants /ə/ /r/ /t/ /d/ show the most prominent difference in pronounciation (Navrátilová, 2013). Furthermore, Axelsson (2002, p.144) (in Alftberg, 2009, p. 4) claims that with regard to the previously mentioned factors, Swedish students come in contact with several different varieties of English on a daily basis, thus a one-accent-only approach seems outdated for learning purposes. In addition to this, the syllabus for teaching English in Sweden, LGY11 (SNAE, 2011) lays focus, not explicitly on pronunciation, but on intonation and fluency, two factors which are certainly affected by one’s pronunciation and prosody. The document also emphasizes the importance of incorporating different varieties of English from different English speaking cultures and countries into the lessons (SNAE, 2011).This raised the question of whether or not Swedish upper secondary school students tend to follow the global Americanization of pronunciation, if they still adhere to using RP due to its geographical proximity and former prestige, or if they mix different varieties. Therefore, a study was conducted on Swedish students’ pronunciation tendencies and attitudes towards different pronunciations. 58% of the students claimed to use GA and said that TV/YouTube is where they hear English the most. Only 17% claimed they used RP. However, the recordings of the students indicated that the majority used a mixture of the two, and only one student was completely consistent in their variety.
The way to express graphically the project‟s initial conceptualization stage, entitled architectural concept through diagrams is the subject under discussion in this research. Therefore, architectural competitions and final degree projects are an important source of analysis, because in both cases you need to present a solid explanation of the project through graphic elements, in order to clarify the projective intentions and convince the evaluators. The freedom in graphical representation that students have instigated the choice for this study universe, since during the learning process restrictions like rules and graphic patterns do not apply, which encourage students to propose different and often unusual solutions. So, this work presents a comparative study of international and national competitions, as well as final degree projects, with the intention of presenting similarities and differences between the studied samples, and to verify the recurrence of formulating strategies of concept diagrams, which enables an investigation of a more resolute possible representative form of design conceptual stage. We concluded that the objects of this study have more similarities than differences, and it is not possible to characterize a standard way to represent the concept diagram. However, it can be cited relevant elements in the formulation of an architectural concept diagram, like drawings on prospects, keywords, explanatory phrases, colors, arrows and pictograms.

Analysis of Autonomous Buses impact on transportation between Stockholm’s universitiesUrtasun López, Marc January 2019 (has links)
The city of Stockholm is developing fast and its population is strongly growing, new solutions for urban mobility must be found. Implementations in the publictransport network are needed and the use of automated buses is a present topicfor efficient and sustainable transportation. The Vetenskapsstaden area has threeof the main university campus coexisting, this leads to a generation of campusto-campus trips which creates an impact in the Stockholm’s public transport. The unique environment and singular users arise the aim to execute a potentialsolution to release ridership from the public transport network. This thesisanalyzes and evaluates whether a new automated bus line is needed or not inthe studied area. A cost model will study the proposed solutions through therated decision variables: frequency and capacity, commercial speed and differentrates of demand. The relative efficiency of the proposed implementations isstudied compared with the costs of the current public transport modes used inthe area. Numerical analysis and results are given for two different scenarios:implementing one bus line connecting the three campuses or three lines betweencampuses. The former scenario shows to be more sensitive to the studied variablesand presents higher costs whereas the second-option costs have a robust responseand lower overall price evaluation. For both infrastructure models, the rateof demand is crucial to evaluate the advantages of a potential solution. Theestablished method and criteria contributes to a better understanding of theimpact of autonomous buses to low-demand analytic models.

A web portal with usersubmitted content : Creating a web portal and minimizing its need for administrative workWinge, Daniel, Winge, Christer January 2017 (has links)
A web portal that publicly displays user-submitted content requires administration in order to ensure undesired content, that is potentially malicious, is excluded. Other administrative aspects that come with a web portal with user-submitted content include user-support and service maintenance. This project was formed in part to develop a new version of an existing web portal for advertising degree projects. The goal of the project is to develop an improved version of the old web portal and ensure that the new version requires as little manual administration work as possible. As how to minimize administration for this type of service was deemed unknown, this thesis takes an inductive approach to exploring how to minimize administration for a web portal with user-submitted content. This thesis results in the presentation of a web portal with new functionality and modified in aspects that the product owner wanted improved. The visual layout is presented along with information on what parts were reused from the old version of the web portal. Design choices that were made with a focus on minimizing administration and design choices in general that were deemed important are presented and motivated. Finally, the thesis concludes that possible areas where administrative work could be reduced depends heavily on the requirements set on the web portal and that the methods used in this thesis were successful in identifying administrative work aspects that can be reduced or eliminated on the web portal developed in this project. It is also concluded that sufficiently advanced automated systems could be useful in reducing the administrative work needed by any type of web portal with user-submitted content.
