Thesis covering topic of Linking social novel and fantasy on an example of Kirsten Boie. Didactic adaptation of the novel "Alhambra" deals with the use of literature in foreign language teaching. The theoretical part discusses its overall contribution to the development of key skills of mastering a foreign language for a student, on the conditions and rules for its use in class. Literature used in class may represent a new source of information about the target language and society that uses it, so it can be used also for multicultural education and with cross-subject projects. The second part deals with the personality of Kirsten Boie and her art, especially the novel "Alhambra" and its theoretical and practical specifics, including a possible contribution to the lesson. In this part an alternative educational material was created, which alone represents a new impetus and a change in the method of teaching for pupils and teachers. Theme and stylistic style of social novel "Alhambra" with historical and fantasy elements doesn't resemble a classic-sounding articles in textbooks, it is thematically attractive for students and arouses curiosity and motivation to read it. The present thesis deals with a possible approach to the literary text in the teaching of literature in secondary school. It discusses the choice of the literary text, its reading, interpretation and meaning. The whole approach is demonstrated on Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road; the theoretical framework of the thesis is provided by Přemysl Blažíček's texts. The thesis aims to figure out whether Blažíček's literary thought is as viable and useful in the pedagogical process as it is in literary criticism and theory.

Středoškolská výuka geografie obyvatelstva a sídel s využitím tabletů / Teaching population and settlement geography at high schools with tablets

Using of modern technologies has been increasing in the sectors of economic and by people. If educational system shall prepare students for the future, it should learn them to work with that technologies, for example computers or tablets. Modern technologies have been entering to schools increasingly but very slowly. Effects of their usage in the educational process have not been examined sufficiently. This thesis applies to advantages and disadvantages of teaching population and settlement geography with a tablet, particularly using the Nearpod application. The influence of teaching with tablet on students' test results is analyzed on the basis of taught lessons and didactic tests. Then, advantages and disadvantages of tablet using at school are established for students and teachers according to interviews and observation during the lessons. This study shows that tablet using does not have to mean higher students' scores in the tests. Students are more motivated, lessons are more entertaining for them in comparison to traditional lessons. Tablets also provide priceless feedback to them. Abstract this thesis focuses on the draft process of the curriculum in the sphere of management accounting in the subject of accounting business academies in the Czech Republic. The work is divided into two parts, which are theoretical and practical. The first part involves analysis of current findings in the terms of economic and financial thinking and analysis of curriculum documents and educational aspects of teaching. The practical part consists of two parts of the research. Firstly, it investigates the opinions of accounting teachers about didactic aspects of teaching and subsequently it verificates the draft instruction with didactic tests.

The thesis deals with contemporary Czech poetry, with trends in the evolution in last five years and with didactic potential of the modern poems. The theoretical part summarizes the changes in the evolution of contemporary Czech poetry based on the information from the anthology called Nejlepší české básně and offers two large interpretations and five short reflections of the modern Czech poems. Finally this part pronounces the student's priorities of the selection of poems in the lessons of literature. The practical part of the thesis contains one lesson proposal built on the poem Rasistická poezie by Jan Těsnohlídek ml. and a questionnaire intended for the grammar school teachers about contemporary Czech poetry. The results of the practical part of the thesis are presented and the general conclusions about didactic potential of a contemporary Czech poetry are pronounced. In today's fast changing world, global development of information and communication technology significantly affects many fields of human activity including music and education. As a result, questions concerning effective using of modern technology in musical education have become a major topic within the pedagogical community. Presented dissertation thesis examines utilization of notation software as a modern teaching tool. The software was specifically used to further improve musical creativity of pupils at secondary school (grades 6 to 9). The very first part of the thesis focuses on research framework, contemporary musical technologies, and available notation software tools. A special attention was drawn to MuseScore software that was used in the research. Last but not least, this part of the thesis outlines vital facts connected with musical creativity field of knowledge. Second part of the thesis is dedicated to author's research and starts with determination of project scope, goals, and basic working hypothesis. The actual research was carried out in several phases with subsequent real-life verification of acquired results. Thesis Abstract The thesis deals with the visual content of the media of official memory, in particular the visual material of history textbooks and the exhibition of the National Museum. It examines the formal and content features of the representation of four key events of modern Czechoslovak and Czech history which entered the awareness of the general public as "eight" events: the founding of Czechoslovakia (1918), the signing of the Munich Agreement (1938), the communist coup (1948) and the invasion of the Warsaw Pact armies (1968). Moreover, it relates the modes of representation of these events to the issue of the political transition of 1989. By means of mixed methods research, it examines a sample of textbooks published during the communist era (1967, 1973, 1982, 1983, 1983), the post-communist era (1995, 1996, 1999, 1999, 2000, 2009, 2011) and the exhibits from the permanent exhibition Crossroads of Czech and Czechoslovak Statehood (opened in 2009). In its findings, the thesis presents 34 visual memory figures related to the representation of the selected historical events. It points out the circulation of these images between the medium of the textbook and the historical exposition, thus following the dynamic concept of memory discussed in the theoretical part of the thesis. This thesis deals with the use of didactic games in geography lessons in Czech schools. Its main goal is to use the questionnaire survey to find the so-called examples of good practice in schools. In the introduction there is a short literature search and definition of the term didactic game according to various authors. The main research method is an electronic questionnaire. A total of 72 faculty schools of the Faculty of Science of Charles University were addressed. Finally, 30 primary and secondary school teachers took part in the research.The questionnaire was divided into four parts. In the first part the general opinion of teachers on the concept of didactic game was investigated. The following section of questions was focused on teachers who use didactic games - the extent of games usage, in which topics of geography, as well as specific examples of games and their evaluation. The third section of the questions was intended for teachers who do not use games and found out the reasons that prevent them from using games. The last section of the questions deals with the sociodemographic characteristics of the research sample. Nowadays, information is increasingly presented in the form of various graphic materials. One of the key means of information visualisation is a map. Maps are complex representations and it is necessary to comprehend several cartographic concepts and to acquire skills and strategies for their efficient use. For this reason, it is important to give maps sufficient attention in the course of education. For the education to be of high quality, it is fundamental to understand the process of the map use and factors affecting this process and its successfulness. Therefore, the general purpose of the dissertation thesis is to develop this understanding. Specifically, the thesis has four main aims. One of them is to identify a map skill level of Czech students while using thematic maps since the popularity of thematic maps is increasing together with the number of cartographic insufficiencies they contain. These insufficiencies can inter alia cause a formation of misconceptions both about the maps and phenomena and regions they display. Výuka tlumočnické notace ve Spolkové republice Německo / Teaching Note-taking for Consecutive Interpreting in Germany

The present thesis focuses on the teaching of interpreter`s notes within selected universities in the Federal Republic of Germany. The aim of this theoretical-empirical study is to find out how lecturers teach note-taking, which sources they use, and how much importance they assign to teaching note-taking. Findings from German universities are compared with responses from research participants from a university in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of this study introduces the topic of note-taking in a wider context of interpreting, discusses the prevailing systems of note-taking in more detail and deals with teaching note-taking and some of its aspects. Tools and technologies used for note-taking are also mentioned. In the second, empirical part of the thesis, the goals, chosen methodology and possible limits of the research are presented. Participants and universities selected for the research are also introduced. The data is collected by means of questionnaires and semi- structured interviews. Findings from both of these methods are then compared based on thematic areas. Although the target group of the research is relatively small, and the results are therefore not fully decisive, a number of noteworthy trends have been identified which may serve as basis for future research.
