The dissertation provides information about problems of school maturity. The theoretical part of the dissertation focuses on elucidation of problems of school maturity from the pedagogical-psychological point of view, including its definition as well as specification of terms. This part is also concentrated on possible causes of school immaturity and on the methods of school maturity identification either. The practical part of focuses on scanning of children with necessary postponement of school attendance in two stages {--} the January 2007 enrolment of children and the February 2008 enrolment of the same group of children after a year postponement of school attendance ( the experimental sample included 20 children at the pre {--} school age ). Characteristics of the children in the time of the first enrolment and after the postponement a year later were recognized by means of questionnaire methods, the Fundamental Test of School Maturity and examination. Those characteristics were compared and evaluated. Consequently, designated presumptions concerning of functionality of school attendance postponement were clarified. The conclusion summarizes detected facto about school attendance postponement that was proved to be effective in the case of the examined children.

This diploma thesis deals with an admission procedure to the first form of primary education, school readiness, beginning of the school attendance and a formation of initial literacy in the first form of primary school. The theoretical part focuses on the ontogeny of a child in the pre-school and young school age, school readiness, the beginning of school attendance and the initial reading and writing skills. The research focuses on the preparation of children in kindergartens for school. It also describes three processes of admission procedure to the first form of primary school at three different schools. The author also analyses results of these admission procedures in 2018. She also analyses the human body drawings in connection with the school readiness. Last but not least she analyses the formation of hygiene habits of pupils in the first forms. The findings of this research are compared with the information in the theoretical part. There are also many appendices that document the research. At the end of the thesis there is the interpretation of the research and a description of contemporary school readiness issues.

The diploma thesis deals with the mediation of a preview of the development of adaptation during the beginning of school attendance in pupils of the first class by the view of children, parents and teacher. The diploma thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is divided into two chapters. The first chapter deals with the current concept of the first level of basic education and describes the important curricular documents that constitute the White Book and the Framework Educational Program of Basic Education. The second chapter deals with a child initiating school attendance and this breakthrough event is framed in the subchapters describing school maturity and school readiness, school as an impersonal institution, classmates and friends, evaluation and school success, teacher and his / her work, motivation of the pupil, adaptation to the beginning of school attendance, a change of the daily regime, and the family as the inseparable emotional support of the child. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research, which was attended by seven children who have just started their compulsory schooling, their parents and the teacher. In-depth interviewing and qualitative questionnaires are used.

This thesis deals with the postponement of compulsory school attendance. The theoretical part defines the characteristics of the pre-season in terms of the development of key competencies and skills as a prerequisite for entry into school and also describes the concept of school readiness and legislative definition postponement of compulsory school attendance. It also discusses the risk areas for children and their removal. The work also addresses the key factors that may dominate in the postponement of school attendance (eg. Family socio-culturally disadvantaged environment, attention deficits, speech problems, health problems) and possible sources of support for the child at risk for school attendance postponement (eg .: Family , kindergartens, educational-psychological counseling centers, special pedagogical center, leisure activities, etc.). I also mention the risk of early entry into primary school. In the practical part we will learn what areas of risk in children most often. Results get the records of the child's progress during the first term of the school year, based on which we can experience a significant shift of children in different areas and with the help of a questionnaire survey, observation of children. The aim of the submitted diploma thesis is to find and describe how parents look back on the early school attendance in their intellectualy gifted children, what parents led to this decision and what were the reactions of the neighbourhood. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis deals with topics related to the issues of talent, developmental acceleration and premature start of school attendance. The theoretical part is divided into three major parts-the first one is dedicated to talent, its definitions and developmental acceleration and also the relationship between talent, intelligence and heredity. Some models of talents are also mentioned here. The second part deals with the gifted child, its characteristics and asynchrony in its development. The last part focuses on the initiation of education in children with accelerated cognitive development, school maturity and readiness and the possibility of acceleration in education. The practical part is dedicated to qualitative research ivolving parents of six children who started school attendance early and at the same time were intellectually accelerated. Later talent in the intellecutal area was diagnosed in all children based on repeated examination in Pedagogical Psychological Counseling Office.

This diploma thesis focuses on the support of reading preliteracy in preparatory classes. The theoretical part discusses literacy in general, reading literacy as its key domain and literacy as preparation for acquiring knowledge. The support role of family and preschool is defined. Further this thesis discusses preparatory classes, school maturity of pre-school children and postponement of compulsory school attendance as an indicator for admission to preparatory classes. The aim of this research was to find out how teachers support reading literacy in preparatory classes. Data was obtained through semi-structured interviews with teachers of preparatory classes for the school year 2017/2018. The research questions focused on the population of preparatory classes, methods and practices of teachers to support reading literacy, collaboration with other professionals and organizations supporting reading literacy and the tools used in teaching. The experiences of teachers of preparatory classes show that the respondents are interested in reading literacy and are knowledgeable in this issue. The educators are initiative during the classes and reading literacy is highly valued.
