Problematika odkladu školní docházky v Kladně / Issues of postponement of school attendance in the town of Kladno

The thesis is mapping the region of Kladno in period of 4 years and is pointing to an increase of school suspension in 2011by about six percent, compared to the average in previous three years. With help of used research methods, interviews and data analysis, we have confirmed and determined a hypothesis, that the most weakened components of children's personalities in Kladno are connected to social maturity, which pointed out self- sufficiency problems and problems with making contacts with peers. At the field of mental maturity we detected speech defects and inability to focus on classwork. Also we concluded that school suspension is more frequently granted to boys. This is pointed out in the theory of Langmeier, J., Krejčířová, D. 2006 and ÚIV. However, the month of birth, which also determines accession to the school, is important. At the end of our thesis, which contains general summary, we highlighted the uncertain areas and we suggested other possible topics, which needs to be further investigated.

Thesis, "Analysis of reasons for delays in the school attendance within the regional investigation" deals in the theoretical level with the concept of school maturity and school readiness, and reasons leading to the postponement of school attendance. Most major theme of the thesis is to identify reasons for the school attendance delay in the Náchod region. It gives examples of test methods and remedial methods used in the educational-psychology counselling centre in Náchod and the kindergarten in Hronov. There are set the goal and hypotheses in the empirical part of the thesis, leading to the processing of the data obtained through questionnaires and interview. The resulting analysis is treated in the conclusion of the thesis.

In my Master Thesis, I am dealing with the issue of posponing child's school attendance with a special regard to the motives of parents leading to suspension. The Thesis is bothe theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is mapping the theme of suspended school attendance and socio-pedagogical aspects related to the decision making process leading to suspension. The empirical part offers selected examples of parents' motivation apllying for postponing of their child's education. My research is based on interview and questionnaire. I used available Czech materials as a source of expert information and I draw from the experience of my empirical research in the last chapter.

Odklad školní docházky v říčanském regionu / Delayed School Attendance in the Region of Říčany

Diploma thesis "Delayed School Attendance in the Region of Říčany" deals with survey of the region of Říčany with respect to opinions and experience of kindergarten and primary school teachers. The work is divided into two parts. The theoretical part contains information on delay school attendance issues necessary for successful realisation of a pedagogical research. The practical part is focused on answering of defined survey questions and on verification or falsification of the hypothesis. The research is based on the quantity method of questioning (by means of questionnaire and interview) and qualitative method of observation. The survey took place at 24 kindergartens and 7 primary schools taking into account 54 kindergarten teachers and 15 primary school teachers in the region of Říčany. It was found out, that the number of delayed school attendance in the region of Říčany is lower than the average value in the entire Czech Republic. Further, kindergarten and primary school teachers agree, that children often have problems with communication and concentration. Other important findings are that teachers don't feel any difference between children with and without delayed school attendance; they have individual approach to children on the basis of their abilities and needs. Suspension of the school attendance is a current problem due to prepared changes within the school act. Since the validity of the new Shool Act No.561/2004 coll. in 2005, the child at the age of six in the current school year must enter the compulsory school attendance unless suspension is permitted. The child at the age of six within the period of the beginning of the school year and the end of the calendar year may be adopted for the compulsory school attendance under certain circumstances even in this school year. There are lots of discussions performed by society, professionals or politicians about the earlier or later initiation of the school attendance. Since 90th in the last century the number of the suspensions of the school attendance has increased. Parents ask for suspension more often than in the past and the suspension is proposed and realized at one fifth of the children in the current school year. This means that the demands on children at the beginning of the shcool year are increasing and that parents have realized their responsibility for the success of their child. The beginning of the school attendance is a very important moment in the life of their child and no rush is necessary. In my thesis I investigated diagnostics of the school maturity used in the Czech Republic, mainly in the pedagogical-psychological counselling centres, posibilities of non mature functions development, leaflets and advices for parents and programmes used in the counselling centres. In my thesis I dealt with general problems of the pre-school child development and the assessment of the school maturity non-professional and professional in the pedagogical-psychological counselling centres. I summarized basic abbilities from each area which should be adopted by the child before the beginning of the school attendance, what should parents notice and also testing methods and materials used for the examination at the pedagogical-psychological counselling centres. In my research part I focused on the families with pre-school children asking for suspension of school attendance.

The topic of this thesis is the completion of compulsory education at elementary school. The goal of the theoretical part of this thesis is detailed description of specifics which relate to 9th grade. It can be useful to teachers who are, at the moment, teaching this grade and could help them to realize all the factors that influence their work. They might also find some new options how to improve their work. The practical part of this thesis is focused on a case study of project that is realised at Elementary School Josefa Kajetána Tyla, Písek. It is the 9th grade student's prom. The main focus is on what are the students learning, whether and how it influences their teaching and what does organizing this kind of event entitles.

This thesis deals with diagnosing school readiness at enrollment for compulsory school attendance. The paper defines the terms of school readiness, school maturity, enrollment for compulsory school attendance, school attendance postponement and acceptance of the child younger than six years. Another part describes the enrolment process for compulsory education in primary schools in Českobudějovicko. Three goals have been set: how teachers of selected primary schools in Českobudějovicko diagnose school readiness during enrollment for compulsory school attendance, what is their experience with school start postponement and early school starts (before 6 years), and to see if elementary schools cooperate with kindergartens in enrollment for compulsory school attendance. To achieve the goals was used qualitative research, an interrogation method, semi-structured interview technique. Through interviews with selected teachers coming from nine primary schools these objectives have been met. Elementary schools use different methods for diagnosing school maturity, but in most cases they diagnose the child in the fields recommended by literature. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the topic of school-matureness diagnostics.Through theoretical background it presents, at which level a child should be developed enough in terms of his/her character and knowledge, before entering the compulsory school attendance. Terms such as school knowledge and school readiness are tightly connected to the topic and explained in this research. Recent and former legislative requirements concerning the beginning of one's compulsory school attendance, school enrollment, and postponement of compulsory school attendance are mentioned. Following the theoretical part, the practical part of this thesis diagnoses school maturity. The Preliminary test of school maturity by Jaroslav Jirasek is described in detail, other often used diagnostically materials and publicly available publications with content being well usable for the diagnoses are also shortly introduced. Base don those publications a test for the diagnosis of school maturity was developed, and it was together with Jirasek's Preliminary test of school maturity used for testing school maturity with a research sample. This diploma thesis deals with theme of a work of a novice drama teacher at the beginning of school attendance. Specially in the first mid-term of the first class. The theoretical part is a vocational knowledge file which is the practical part based on. The thesis allows a deep view into the drama education. It will help us to learn about a child in the start of schooling and also the aims of the early education of the first mid-term. It also defines the drama education and its principles, goals and forms. The thesis describes an inclusion of drama education in FEP (for Elementary Education) and the ideal properties of a drama education teacher. It deals with an idea of dramatic game, system of the preparatory games and exercises. It does not only introduce methods and techniques of drama education, but it also helps us to create and plan the lessons, often with a use of literary basis. This thesis deals with the issue of attendance recording. The aim of the thesis was to design a solution and then create a hardware terminal for the electronic attendance system. The whole system is based on the latest web technologies using the Raspberry Pi hardware, for the client terminal. Future use of the device is possible for both home and commercial use. The whole system was distributed globaly as Open Source project. The result of thesis is a physical prototype of a client terminal, based on the Raspberry Pi platform, Electron based application for terminal and a web application communicating with the server solution.
