Macroeconomic Impact of Maternity (Parental) Leave Comparing the Czech Republic with Brazil / Makroekonomický dopad mateřské (a rodičovské) dovolené ve srovnání České Republiky s Brazílií

Kalkusová, Marie January 2015 (has links)
This thesis aims to estimate the macroeconomic impact of maternity and parental/paternal leave in the Czech Republic and Brazil. In addition, the thesis stresses out the costs of Czech model application to Brazil and vice-versa. The first chapter brings a theoretical framework. It compares the analyzed policies in both countries and introduces the relevant terms. The second chapter estimates the costs of maternity and parental/paternal leave related to public expenditure and GDP for the years 2005-2014 and brings own simulation model for Czech model application to Brazil and vice-versa. The third chapter analyses the inefficiencies and suggest possible mitigation. The results show the costs of 0.71% of GDP and 1.66% of public expenditure in the Czech Republic and 0.50% GDP and 2.27% of public expenditure in Brazil in 2014. The Czech model applied in Brazil would be very costly and the opposite scenario would lead to the decrease of macroeconomic burden in the Czech Republic. The thesis also analyzes the influence of maternal and parental leave in other areas, such as labor market, where the current structure may penalize Czech women in long term. By this analysis, the thesis contributes to the current debate about the impact, the length and costs of maternity and parental leave.

Návrh zařízení pro erozi materiálu vodním paprskem / Design of device for water jet erosion of materials

Mikulášek, Tomáš January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to design experimental setup for planar samples erosion by means of the water jet on the rotational sample configuration, laboratory experimental testing and its evaluation by means of the 3D optodigital microscope Olympus DSX 510. There were observed typical erosion patterns at the solid tested material surfaces as well as the cavitation erosion. Experiments were carried out at the following water pressures: 0.432 MPa, 1.50 MPa on the rotating sample, at 2.50 MPa on steady sample and on flooded sample for different treatment times. Experimental results of waterjet impact on rotating sample were compared with the theoretical modelling data obtained by CFD modelling. Computational modelling was done in two parts: 3D modelling of water jet flow impact on rigid steady surface and 3D modelling of water jet impact on rigid moving surface. The latter modelling was solved as two phase modelling, where the computational model “Volume of Fluid” was employed. The aim of the study was to find out for the individual cases under study appearance of the water flow and the changes of the magnitude of the force of the impinging water jet on the wall.

Current crisis in Ukraine: the impact on Czech migration policy Bc. Tereza Jarolímová Abstract In November 2013 protests in response on cancelation of Association Agreements preparations between EU and Ukraine stand on the beginning of crisis, which resulted in annexation of Crimea by Russian Federation and in armed conflict at Eastern Ukraine. Those events led to a significant deterioration of security and socioeconomic conditions and influenced migration flows in Ukraine. In April 2015 there was 1 192 000 Internally Displaced Persons and more than 700 000 people fled Ukraine. This situation also affected Czech Republic that is common target of migration from this country. This thesis analyses the reaction of the Czech state institutions on Ukrainian crisis and its influence on migration flows. Migration policy is in this thesis divided in immigration policy, asylum policy, integration policy, external dimension of migration policy and crisis reaction. Author analyses budget changes, Government Resolutions and changes in state strategies concerning migration or security in connection with possible migration flow from Ukraine. It is also evaluated how Czech Republic grants different kinds of international protection to refugees from Ukraine.
