Logistické procesy e-shopu / Logistic processes of e-shop

Jindra, Jan January 2011 (has links)
Master's Thesis focuses on logistic processes of e-shops. This branch is significantly developing and many sole traders and Small and Medium Enterprises join it. Due to strong competition it is necessary to find possibilities, how to be different from other e-shops. Such competition advantage can be reached with higher level of logistic services. Types of logistic chains that can be used in electronic commerce are defined in Thesis. Work of particular members of chain is described as well. Thesis also deals with evolution of e-commerce and various kinds of online retailers. I focused in great detail on function of e-shop that works according to pull-principle. Processes of this e-shop was compared with processes of e-shop that sell. goods from its stocks. The aim of this comparison was to find competition advantage that can be transfered to e-shop working without stocks. The last passage of Thesis deals with possibility of outsourcing that can make better services of e-shops.

Student Management Practices in the Secondary School Shops of Utah

Cheney, U. Sterling 01 May 1954 (has links)
Background It is wrong to think that industrial education had its beginning recently. Merely because industry has made revolutionary changes and advancements during recent years does not mean that industrial education has not been in existence for a long time. Industrial education in some forms is probably as old as the human race. In the development of industrial education it is interesting to note that both anciently and during modern times the emphasis has been placed on the value of handwork. The cave man's life depended upon his skill and ability to make and use the various types of primitive tools. We still place great importance on our knowledge of handwork.

A method for setup time reduction in high precision machine cells

Szatkowski, Paul Michael 09 May 2009 (has links)
This research focused on an important aspect of production, machine changeover, or setup time. Setup time is defined as the elapsed time between producing the last part from the most recent lot to the first part of an incoming lot. The research had four objectives. First, an existing method to reduce machine changeover time was evaluated in a high-precision machine cell (HPMC). Second, the causes and effects of setup problems in an HPMC were identified. Third, a method to reduce setup time was developed to more fully address some of the identified problems. Fourth, the developed method was evaluated in another HPMC. After reviewing published setup reduction methodologies, the Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) approach was selected for evaluation in machine cells. According to its developer, SMED can typically reduce setup time by 70 to 90%. The case study did not fully support this claim. Possible explanations for the mixed results were developed. Also, a number of setup problems were not fully corrected. These problems included machine and tooling failures, delays from tasks not completed at the machine area, and labor-related problems. A method to reduce setup time was developed. The method applied the work simplification approach to reduce setup time. The developed setup reduction method consisted of five steps: (1) document the existing method, (2) simplify the current method while using the same tooling and procedures, (3) identify opportunities to reduce setup time, (4) prioritize the opportunities and (5) implement the prioritized projects. The method includes the basic setup reduction principles of SMED and addresses problems that were not fully corrected by SMED. The developed method was tested in another high-precision machine cell. An additional 22% reduction in setup time occurred as a result of correcting problems not fully addressed by SMED. It was concluded that because the new method focused on the manpower, materials, and methodology used during a changeover, it reduced setup time further than existing methods. / Master of Science

No. of bitstreams: 1 Silvia Cristina Copia Carrilho Silva Martins.pdf: 14014733 bytes, checksum: fe3245103944e46851953298481a84e5 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2014-08-04 / The present study aims to analyze the personification as persuasive appeal in advertising campaigns dedicated to Pets Shops (a shop specialized in products and services for pets). To this end, we selected 12graphic design pieces published in the Cães e Cia. Magazine, from January to December 2013. The primary focus of the research is on the discourse of advertising, and especially about his attempt to entice pet owners - highlights on the fact that the pet owners represent a significant portion of consumers that has grown substantially in recent years. In this sense, the research has an exploratory nature and employs documentary research and literature review. This study takes as instrument, articles, materials and advertisements published in specialized magazines, targeting the world of pets . Authors such as João Vicente Cegato Bertomeu, João A. Carrascoza, Vestergaard and Schroder and are used for the foundation of the main ideas that guide the study, however, the fundamental strategy lies in the fundamental review of the theories of embodiment; the theoretical path and image analysis of the selected graphic design pieces that depict the use of personification and the persuasive speech of advertising. In this sense, note that the research was guided by the collection and examination of graphic pieces that employ personification as textual and visual appeal, using instruments of communication studies for analysis. The analysis was based on theories that focus on temporal, cultural and behavioral relationships. The areas of phenomenology (here we use authors like Merleau-Ponty e Furlani and Bacchi), the proxemics (using ethologist and anthropologist Edward Hall) will translate the constraints of human perception filters in the act of production and reception advertising discourse, as well as other authors who also pass through these areas. It is noteworthy that the references of this research include data collected in magazines (veterinary or otherwise), such as the magazine of the newspaper Folha de S. Paulo, National Geographic and Galileo, as well as official sites like ABINPET (Brazilian Association of the Industry products for Pets), ANFALPET (National Association of Manufacturers of Food for Pets), since these publications are more updated than academic research (masters and doctorates) on the topic.

Finite Element Analysis Of Bending Operation Of Aluminum Profiles

Penekli, Ufuk 01 May 2008 (has links) (PDF)
Bending process is an important forming process in most industrial fields. Springback and cross-section distortion are commonly faced problems in bending process. Springback behavior of closed and open section beams changes with different parameters such as cross-section type, cross-section dimensions, bend radius and bend angle. For closed sections like tube, the dominating problem is cross-section distortion. The thickness of the tube at intrados (inner surface of tube being in contact with die) increases, whereas the thickness of the tube at extrados (outer surface of tube) decreases. Furthermore, another cross-section distortion type for tubes is flattening at extrados which is undesirable in some manufacturing operations. The present research, using finite element method, focuses on investigating the springback behavior of commonly used aluminum beams which are T-Shaped, U-Shaped and tubular for different cases. A series of analyses is performed for a beam and the changing parameters in the analyses are bend radius and thickness. Furthermore, for tubes, the effects of axial force on springback behavior are investigated. It is seen that the axial force causes stretching and the springback angles are decreased. Moreover, in order to overcome cross-section distortion in flattening for tubes, different internal pressures are used and the effects of internal pressure are investigated. By applying appropriate internal pressure, the flattening distortion is mostly eliminated. Conclusions are drawn revealing springback behaviors and cross-section distortions with respect to bend radius, bend angle, thickness, axial pull and internal pressures. They are in good agreement with other published researches and experimental results. Therefore, the models can be used to evaluate tooling and process design in bending operations.

A case study determining the relevance of motor body repairs focusing on niche markets outside the insurance industry, to establish a position of competitive advantage.

Winter, Brett. January 2002 (has links)
When one thinks of motor vehicle accident damage repairs, one often thinks of unscrupulous operators and a scurrilous industry. While this is regrettably often the case, there is a counterpoint, being the significant number of motor body repair firms that have invested significant sums in establishing accredited and certified motor body repair outlets, and who offer a premium service. The industry is one that is regulated by the South African Motor Body Repair Association, a body that seeks to dictate a standard of repairs by dictating membership eligibility relative to investment in equipment. Most unfortunately, this stipulation does not adequately take into account the flow of work that there may be from the motor vehicle insurance industry, and many repairers find themselves having to resort to nefarious means to ensure that business comes their way. The author of this report is a co-owner of an advanced major structural motor body repairer. Rather than stooping to unethical practices, the owners have sought to undertake a position appraisal and gap analysis with the intention of uncovering the strategic alternatives available to their firm. The firm has implemented the strategic choices highlighted by this report to good effect and has enjoyed enhanced revenue streams and business competitiveness as a result of undertaking this exercise. This report serves to document the highlights of that process. / Thesis (MBA)-University of Natal, Durban, 2002.
