Are Financial Market Anomalies Real? Evidence from Stock Markets in Five Countries / Are Financial Market Anomalies Real? Evidence from Stock Markets in Five Countries

Ficik, Jozef January 2014 (has links)
The financial market anomaly can be characterized as the event when observed stock returns differentiate from those expected by concrete pricing model. Many anomalies have been detected so far, and some of them vanished, while other persisted, after they had been published by academics and researchers. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the potential presence of selected types of anomalies in the financial markets and to provide relevant empirical evidence. The theoretical section will supply the reader with the descriptions of several types of financial market anomalies and the results of past studies documenting the existence of these anomalies, with possible reasons justifying the presence of this phenomenon. The analytical section will focus on the few selected anomalies and test whether they are still present in the selected financial markets.

Vliv efektu flow na prožívání, chování a zkušenost člověka / Influence of flow on feelings, behavior and experience

Čašková, Barbora January 2015 (has links)
Author of the thesis is describing the possibilities of using games and flow for self- knowledge. A theoretical analysis defines social game and describes possible goals of the game, that could be aimed by it. The paper shows that the game is an important means also for adults. Author introduces the method of experiential learning that systematically works with the game and presents ways to use it as a therapy. The paper describes dimensions of flow phenomenon, which characterize it. The similarities between flow and play are shown and the possibilities for its use in psychology are indicated. The chapter self- knowledge acquaints reader with this concept and with ways of self-knowledge. The second part of the thesis presents empirical research. Interviews with participants of the experiment are the basis for qualitative analysis and interpretation. The aim of the research is to determine if the experience of the game and flow leads to self-knowledge. The results shows that play brings a lot of interesting impuls to self-awareness. It turned out that the flow didn't have to be the sole condition for self-knowledge, experience from unexpected situations or frustration is also a good source. The fundamental discovery was the determination of importance of membership in the group and the need for a...

YORP efekt pro asteroidy s heterogenním rozložením termofyzikálních vlastností povrchu / YORP effect on asteroids with heterogeneous distribution of surface thermophysical properties

Chrbolková, Kateřina January 2016 (has links)
In this thesis, we study the influence of heterogeneous distribution of optical and thermal properties on asteroid surfaces onto the YORP effect. Modelling of the surface heterogeneities is done in three ways. In the first one, we create an impact crater with higher albedo regolith on a regolith-covered asteroid. In the second way, we suppose presence of higher albedo regolith on steep slopes (slope angle > 35◦ ) and in the third one, we state properties of bare rock (with different thermal parameters) in these areas. Then we evaluate the influence of torques caused by scattered or thermally emitted radiation on 200 asteroids based on different distribution of described parameters by means of statistics. We have found that the presence of heterogeneities caused by landslides on asteroid surfaces does not significantly affect the YORP effect with two exceptions: a slight inclination to decelerate the rotation in the case of landslides uncovering bare rock due to critical rotation and significant preference for deceleration in the configurations with uncovered higher albedo regolith on steep slopes. Our data suggest that the influence of heterogeneous distribution of optical properties caused by landslides on the value of typical acceleration time, so-called doubling time td, is 2 % and it does not exceed 5 % in the case...

Má Bitcoin potenciál koexistovat s klasickými měnami? / Does Bitcoin Have Potential To Co-Function with Fiat Money?

Kurka, Josef January 2016 (has links)
This paper examines the potential of Bitcoin, a decentralized digital currency, to pose competition to fiat currencies. To accomplish that, Bitcoin would have to become efficient as a store of value. Thus far, high volatility makes it inferior in that respect. We analyze the dynamics and drivers of Bitcoin volatility using GARCH and HAR models. Moreover, we test for presence of asymmetries displayed by stock, commodity and currency markets. That way we can conclude, whether volatility of Bitcoin behaves similarly to currencies, commodities or stocks. Lastly we reveal interconnections between these markets and market for Bitcoin. We find significant evidence for the leverage effect documented for stock market. Furthermore, the effect of trading volume, documented for currency markets, displays an opposite sign in our research. Results of spillover estimation suggest Bitcoin is the most interconnected with commodity market. Thus, we conclude Bitcoin does not behave similarly to currencies in terms of volatility; hence is not a good candidate to substitute them. Aktuální vývoj na světovém trhu emisemi skleníkových plynů

Vlček, Ondřej January 2006 (has links)
Rostoucí emise skleníkových plynů přispívají k urychlování klimatické změny. Jednotlivé státy k řešení tohoto problému přistupují různými způsoby. Prozatím jediným globálním přístupem je Kjótský protokol. Kjótský protokol navrhuje k řešení klimatické změny využití flexibilních nástrojů - emisního obchodování a projektových mechanismů. Teorie i dosavadní praxe dokládá ekonomickou výhodnost těchto nástrojů. Použití systémů obchodování s emisemi skleníkových plynů se rozšiřuje i v zemích, které neratifikovaly Kjótský protokol. Práce hodnotí mimoevropské povinné systémy emisního obchodování zavedené i plánované.

Humor a vtip v reklamě / Humour in Advertising

Krůtová, Iva January 2007 (has links)

Bláha, Martin January 2015 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis was to elaborate the overview of applied strategies in salmonid rearing under the conditions of intensive aquaculture systems and to evaluate their production effect. Two feeding tests run within the NAZV program QJ1210013. The first feeding test was carried out from 15th May to 12th June 2014 in the Department of Fisheries and Hydrobiology, MENDELU. For this feeding test monosex female population of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) was included. Two types of dry food were administered ALLER AQUA -- ALLER SILVER and BioMar -- INICIO 918. The second feeding test was carried out from 11th June to 3rd September in the salmon farm in Pravíkov (BioFish company). To this feeding test, crossbreeds of brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis) and arctic char (Salvelinus alpinus) were included. Two types of dry food were administered ALLER AQUA -- ALLER GOLD and BioMar -- EFICO ENVIRO 920. The length-weight parameters of individual fish were measured at the beginning and at the end of tests. The amount of administered feeds was recorded. Also basic physico-chemical properties of water were monitored. At the end of these tests the production (FCR, SGR, PER, etc.) and economy parameters were evaluated. The most favourable FCR (0,63) was achieved in the crossbreeds of brook trout and arctic char fed by ALLER GOLD. The most rapid growth of fish (SGR = 3,68) was achieved in the fish of monosex female population of rainbow trout fed by INICIO 918. The greatest yield (3 700 CZK per 1m3 of water) was achieved in crossbreeds of brook trout and arctic char fed by EFICO ENVIRO 920, when fed costs were 1 487 CZK per 1m3.

Zhodnocení migrační propustnosti krajiny - případová studie na dálnici R 10 / Evaluation of landscape permeability and migration potential - A Case Study on the motorway D10

Novák, Libor January 2016 (has links)
This thesis deals with the influence of technical barriers to accidents with wild animals. On the highway D10 during the years 2006-2014 a total of 598 accidents with animals happened. Six categories of barriers were determine: 1) no barrier, 2) metal guardrails, 3) concrete dividers, 4) reinforced metal guardrails, 5) noise barrier wall, 6) fence, which had been given spatial location during the field survey. The paper also addressed the impact of urbanized areas and created the density of accidents per 1 km of the highway. The results show that there was no evidence for an effect of technical barriers (p = 0.73164). An analysis of accidents density implies some hotspots where there is > 19 accidents / km.

Záhora, Adam January 2016 (has links)
The thesis deals with testing the antimicrobial activity of the seed extracts from grapevine, in the research data summary of biologically active substances contained in the vine seed (Vitis vinifera) and brief general characteristic of selected species of microorganisms. In the practical part of thesis was examined antimicrobial effect of seed extracts obtained from grape wine varieties grown in ČR. The first part of thesis deals with the process of producing extract. It was tested nonmethanol extract exposed to oxdiation, fresh methanol and nonmethanol extract in appropriate diluted concentrations. These extracts at 100 %, 50 %, 10 % concentrations were tested by using the agar difusion method, including Escherichia coli, Enterococcus faecalis and Candida tropicalis. All tested microorganisms were inhibited by the grape seed extracts using agar well difusion method and they were cultivated in their optimal conditions for the growth and reproduction after 24 hours and 48 hours. Finally were performed measurings of the inhibition zones.
