Wesley Seidel Carvalho 24 February 2012 (has links)
Named Entity Recognition (NER), a task related to information extraction, aims to classify textual elements according to predefined categories such as names, places, dates etc. This enables the execution of more advanced tasks. NER is a first step towards semantic textual analysis and is also a crucial task for systems of information extraction and other types of systems. In this thesis, I analyze some Machine Learning methods applied to NER tasks, including two methods applied to Portuguese language. I present three ways of evaluating these types of systems found in the literature. I also develop an NER system for the Portuguese language utilizing Machine Learning that entails working with a maximum entropy framework. The results are comparable to the best NER systems for the Portuguese language developed with other Machine Learning alternatives.

Arabic named entity recognition

Benajiba, Yassine 24 May 2010 (has links)
Benajiba, Y. (2009). Arabic named entity recognition [Tesis doctoral no publicada]. Conceptual model builder

Lin, Chia-Yang 01 January 2004 (has links)
Whenever one designs a new database system, an Entity-Relationship Diagram (ER diagram) is always needed to present the structure of this database. Using the graphically well-arranged ER Diagram helps you to easily understand the entities, attributes, domains, primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, and relationships inside a database. This data-modeling tool is an ideal choice for companies and developers.

Marín-Arraiza, Paloma January 2019 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The publication of research results based on the textual document has been considered since the 17th century as the primary means of scientific communication. The arrival in Science of the paradigm based on data and the Open Science movement initiates the demand for publication of other research assets/assets of different nature. We contrast the need for new ways and approaches to the publication of assets to have an adequate description to ensure the findability, access, reuse and reproducibility. One of the avenues for this publication is the expanded scientific publication. Based on the tools provided by the quadripolar method, this research analyses the epistemological, theoretical and technical transformations of the scientific communication process. The main aim is to formalize a model for enhanced publications, which considers the semiotic aspects derived from the hybridization of languages in this type of publication and the relationships between the different entities that comprise the publication. The analysis starts from the conceptualization of enhanced publications as semiotic spaces of homogeneous and heterogeneous topography, due to their composition by objects of different nature. A mapping of different publication environments is performed to extract the entities that can compose an enhanced publication. These entities, together with the executable dimension that represents and establishes the creation process and logic between the entities, form the basis of... Ochrana zaměstnance při převodu zaměstnavatele / Protection of employees in the event of transfer of employer

Koubková, Barbora January 2021 (has links)
Protection of employees in the event of transfer of employer The master's theses deals with the topic of the transfer of rights and obligations from employment relationships and related institutes of protection of the employees affected by the transfer. The topic is regulated at the European Union tier by Council Directive 2001/23/EC of 12 March 2001 on the approximation of the laws of the Member States relating to the safeguarding of employees' rights in the event of transfers of undertakings, businesses or parts of undertakings or businesses, which has been transposed into national law as Section XV of Part Thirteen of Act No. 262/2006 Coll., the Labour Code. The thesis introduces both tiers of legislation, the relevant case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union and the Supreme Court of the Czech Republic and evaluates the implementation of the Directive 2001/23/EC into the national system. The first part of the work is an explanatory one as it describes the meaning of some of the fundamental labour law terms and contexts for the purposes of the following text. The second part introduces the transfer of an undertaking, business or part thereof under the Directive 2001/23/EC and formation of the rules by the Court of Justice of the European Union, in particular the development of the...

Investigating the effect of implementing Data-Oriented Design principles on performance and cache utilization

Nyberg, Frank January 2021 (has links)
Game engines process a lot of data under strict deadlines. Therefore, measures to increase performance are important in this area. Data-Oriented Design (DOD) promotes principles that are meant to increase performance by better cache utilization. The purpose of this thesis is to examine a selection of these principles to give a better understanding of how DOD affects CPU time and the rate of cache misses, with focus on the area of game development. More specifically, the principles examined are removal of run-time polymorphism, iteration over contiguous data, and lowering the amount of data in hot loops. Also, the Entity-Component-System pattern is examined, which is based upon DOD principles. The approach was to first present a theoretical background on the subject, and then to conduct tests by implementing a simulation of movement and collision detection utilizing said principles. The tests were written in C++ and executed on an Intel Core i7 4770k with no rendering. CPU time was measured in updated entities per μs, and cache utilization was measured in the form of cache miss rate. The results showed that the DOD principles did increase performance. Cache miss rate was also lower, with the exception of when removing run-time polymorphism. The conclusion is that Data-Oriented Design, used in game development, is likely to result in better performance, mostly as a result of better cache utilization.

Pseudonymizace textových datových kolekcí pro strojové učení / De-identification of text data collections for machine learning

Mareš, Martin January 2021 (has links)
Text data collections enable the deployment of artificial intelligence algorithms for novel tasks. Such collections often contain miscellaneous personal data and other sensitive information that complicates sharing and further processing due to the personal data protection requirements. Searching for personal data is often carried out by sequential passes through the complete text. The objective of this thesis is to create a tool that helps the annotators decrease the risk of data leaks from the text collections. The tool utilizes pseudonymization (replacing a word with a different word, based on a set of rules). During the annotation process, the tool tags the words as "public", "private" and "candidate". The task of the annotator is to determine the role of the candidate words and detect any other untagged private information. The private words then become the subject of the pseudonymization process. The auto-tagging tool utilizes a named entity recognizer and a database of rules. The database is automatically improved based on the decisions of the annotator. Different named entity recognizers were compared for the purpose of personal data search on the collection of the ELITR project. During the comparison, a method was found which increased the sensitivity of the named entities detection which also...
