Ondráček, Jiří January 2019 (has links)
TITLE: Relationships Among Teaching Staff as a School Climate Factor AUTHOR: Bc. Jiří Ondráček DEPARTMENT: Pedagogy Department, Charles University - Faculty of Education THESIS MENTOR: PhDr. Marie Linková, Ph.D. ABSTRACT: The topic of this thesis is school climate and relationships among teaching staff influencing it. The theoretical part includes explanation of the terms climate and school climate, and defines differences between school environment and school culture. An important part is school as an institution and an organisation as well. Theoretical part also defines school climate and its typology. It identifies requirements for a positive school climate and factors influencing it (subjective, objective). The thesis is also focused on research of the school climate itself, the history of research and particular research methods (various queationairres, SWOT analysis, school map, etc.). A very important component of the theoretical part is the description of relationships (climate) among the teaching staff. It defines the teaching team, personality of a pedagogical worker, personalities of teachers, their typology and authority. The concluding part is focused on positives and negatives of teaching staff relationships and it clarifies their causes. The practical part is focused on the research...

Klimarelevante Maßnahmen der Abfallwirtschaft

Wagner, Steffen, Ibold, Heiko, Zeschmar-Lahl, Barbara, Born, Manfred 08 June 2013 (has links)

The eco friendly city : A study about how the city of Karlstad relates to environmental and climate aspects in the work on destination development

Henriksson, Rebecca, Grosselin, Kitty January 2017 (has links)
Tourism is an increasing part of the social planning and should strive more towards sustainable development (Müller 2007). The municipality of Karlstad strives to become "The eco- friendly city" (Karlstad 2016a), which means that people are given the opportunity to live a good life in a sustainable way (WWF 2017). The study shows that cities today should strive to prioritize environmental and climate issues in relation to destination development. This study examines how units in the municipality of Karlstad prioritize and include environmental and climate issues in the work of making Karlstad attractive. How these areas affect each other, as well as how dialogues and collaborations appear in the municipality regarding environment and climate. The Regional Centre of Värmland, Karlstad, is a municipality that wishes to invest and create good business conditions in order to attract visitors (Karlstad 2016b). At the same time, Karlstad is one of the cities in Sweden that is at the forefront of the work on climate change (SIDA 2014). This study uses a qualitative approach, semi-structured expert interviews and qualitative document analysis of Karlstad's environmental and climate strategy and Visit Karlstad Tourism Strategic Destination Development Plan, deriving from a hermeneutical approach of understanding and interpreting the phenomenon environment and climate issues in relation to destination development. The study intends to answer questions about how and which environmental and climate issues that are prioritized in the municipality of Karlstad in relation to destination development, if there are any conflicts of objectives and the ways in which the various development units cooperate in these areas. The theoretical framework of the study processes areas that deal with the municipality of Karlstad, destination development, sustainable development, environment, and climate changes and conflict of interests which are the themes of the study. Based on the results of the study, one can conclude that in social planning, both tourism, and environmental issues have taken more space, which has led to the use of the concept development more widely. The environmental and climate issue that the municipality of Karlstad choose to prioritize is the transport area. The municipality is actively working to reduce motorism and focus on sustainable alternative solutions in the area to make the city more attractive. These initiatives lead to certain conflicts of interest within the development units, so it is important that there are collaborations and dialogues between them. In addition, the development units of the municipality of Karlstad use strategies such as work tools to help them achieve the goals pursued. /
Uppsatsens betyg: Väl Godkänd

” It is with great curiosity the world is watching Sweden take lead in the race to save our climate” : A content analysis – the representation of climate and the environment in relation to Agenda 2030 in the Swedish government online communication / ” It is with great curiosity the world is watching Sweden take lead in the race to save our climate” : A content analysis – the representation of climate and the environment in relation to Agenda 2030 in the Swedish government online communication

Andersson, Joanna January 2022 (has links)
2022 is election year in Sweden and at the same time we are approaching year 2030 fast. Because of that, it is of interest to analyze how the Swedish government is communicating Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, with a special focus on climate and the environment, on their official Instagram account and website. This thesis performed with a qualitative content analysis aims to analyze and compare the representation of these subjects with the help of the theoretical framework of critical theory and its critical political economy of media and communication. This allows for a critical analysis of how communication is presented on the different platforms and if the main focuses differ between them. Statistics from Internetstiftelsen (2022) shows how Instagram is the main social platform used by first-time voters and therefore it is of importance to analyze the communication posted there. At the same time the Instagram posts refers to the website in some cases, hence, it is important to analyze the communication published there as well to be able to make an accurate comparison between the platforms. The collected material consists of articles and Instagram posts that has been coded, thematized and analyzed with the help of software analyze tool. It resulted in an accurate visualization of how large percentage of the coded themes was present in the chosen material. Analyzing the material opened a discussion on how the communication does differ on the two platforms. The communication done on Instagram has a strong focus on what Sweden has done with regards to Agenda 2030 and the SDGs, what they are doing and how well they are performing. Nevertheless, it rarely discusses what Agenda 2030 is, how the SDGs are constructed or what it takes to achieve them. This information can however be found on the website, a platform which is visited less often than Instagram by first-time voters. To increase political interest and knowledge amongst the younger generation, changes in the communication must be done. Otherwise, we might see ourselves in a situation where the interest in making crucial changes decreases and thereby jeopardizes our chances of achieving Agenda 2030.

The impact of climate change on the small island developing states of the Caribbean

Maharaj, Shobha S. January 2011 (has links)
Small Island Developing States (SIDS) of the Caribbean are one of the world’s ‘hottest’ ‘biodiversity hotspots’. However, this biodiversity continues to be threatened by habitat loss, and now, by climate change. The research reported here investigated the potential of species distribution modelling (SDM) as a plant conservation tool within Caribbean SIDS, using Trinidad as a case study. Prior to the application of SDM, ancillary analyses including: (i) quantification and mapping of forest cover change (1969 to 2007) and deforestation rates, and (ii) assessment of the island’s vegetation community distribution and associated drivers were carried out. Community distribution and commercial importance and global/regional rarity were used to generate a list of species for assessing the potential of SDM within Trinidad. Species occurrence data were used to generate species distribution models for present climate conditions within the SDM algorithm, MaxEnt. These results were assessed through expert appraisal and concurrence with results of ecological analyses. These models were used to forecast suitable species climate space forty years into an SRES A2 future. Present and future models were then combined to produce a ‘collective change map’ which showed projected areas of species’ range expansion, contraction or stability for this group of species with respect to Trinidad’s Protected Areas (PAs) network. Despite the models being indicative rather than accurate, it was concluded that species’ climate space is likely to decrease or disappear across Trinidad. Extended beyond Trinidad into the remainder of the Caribbean region, SDM may be a crucial tool in identifying which PAs within the region (and not individual islands) will facilitate future survival of given target species. Consideration of species conservation from a regional, rather than an individual island perspective, is strongly recommended for aiding the Caribbean SIDS to adapt in response to climate change.
