Role ergoterapeuta v oblasti tréninku kognitivních funkcí u pacientů po cévní mozkové příhodě. Podtitul: Lůžka včasné rehabilitace / The role of the occupational therapist in the training of cognitive functions in patients after stroke. Subtitle: Beds early rehabilitation

Wegscheiderová, Barbora January 2019 (has links)
This thesis deals with the effectiveness of individual vs. group cognitive therapies in stroke patients by training sheets, and pencil-paper exercises. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the issue of this disease and the current study of cognitive training. The main aim of the practical part is to compare the effectiveness of group and individual cognitive training by means of intensive cognitive training in patients after stroke (within a year after a stroke). Another aim of the study is to find out how patients were satisfied with cognitive function by using the Schwartz scale of therapy. The study included 20 patients who were selected based on predetermined entry criteria. Subsequently, they were divided into two groups of 10 patients. Group 1 underwent individual cognitive therapy and group 2 underwent group therapy. In both groups, cognitive therapy was performed three times a week for one month. The time of one therapy was always 35-40 minutes. Patients were examined at baseline with the Montreal Cognitive Test and Schwartz's scale of therapy evaluation was added to the test at the end of the test. The results showed comparable improvements in the Montreal cognitive test in both groups. Furthermore, they showed comparable...

Subtitle: The influence of premature birth on sensory integration processing of 2 year old children.

Ředinová, Barbora January 2019 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the problematics of sensory processing with premature children. The aim of the thesis is to show the important role of an occupational therapist taking care of infants with perinatal risks already at NICU. Another aim of the thesis is to create an unofficial Czech translation of the standardized Toddler Sensory Profile 2 Test and use it to evaluate the quality of sensory processing with premature children and compare the results with those of children born in term. In the theoretical part, the classification of new- borns is described for better understanding and orientation, together with the risks premature birth brings and the role of an occupational therapist taking care of such children. In the thesis, the approach of Sensory Integration and a classification of Sensory Processing Disorders (SPD) are described. At the end of the theoretical part, the Sensory Profile 2 Test is further described, especially its part dedicated to toddlers (TSP2). The practical part is made of a quantitative research. In the research, the total number of 70 two-year-old toddlers were assessed using TSP2, out of which 44 were born premature and 26 in term. The group of premature toddlers was further divided into 15 late preterm, 17 very preterm and 17 extreme preterm children. The...

This diploma thesis deals with monitoring the movement of the upper limbs in patients after acquired brain injury using an accelerometer. The diploma thesis is processed from the perspective of occupational therapy. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The main objective of the theoretical part is to collect specialist literature about monitoring the movement of the upper limbs by accelerometer in rehabilitation, especially in the occupational therapy. The practical part of the thesis has three objectives. The first objective is to find out whether monitoring of the upper limbs using the accelerometer in patients after acquired brain injury will lead to an objective improvement of the activity of daily living (ADL) in the areas of eating, washing and dressing. The second objective is to find out whether monitoring of the upper limbs using the accelerometer in patients after acquired brain injury will lead to subjective improvement in the same ADLs, and the third objective is to compare whether objective and subjective improvement is related. The practical part was prepared in the form of pilot studies. Quantitative research was used, specifically the type of pre-experiment - One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The study included 14 patients after acquired brain injury. The...

Kulíšková, Kamila January 2019 (has links)
Introduction: Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune neurodegenerative affection of the central nervous system with various neurological symptoms. Disability of upper extremities with other symptoms leads to impaired ability to work and ADL-activities of daily living. The purpose of the pilot study was to evaluate the effect of hand training with the Hand Tutor® rehabilitation system. Methods: The study involved 9 probands, completed 6 probands (2 females and 4 males) at an average age of 36 (SD 4), with a mean disease duration of 13 years (SD 4). Patients received a series of 10 Hand Tutor® therapies, 1-2 times a week. The effect of the therapy was evaluated using the Nine Hole Peg Test (9HPT), the Modified Frenchay Scale and the subjective evaluation of the probands. Results: Before the therapies, the average performance in the 9HPT test was 85 seconds and 83 points in the Modified Frenchay scale. After the therapies, the average 9HPT performance was 67 seconds and 86 points in the Modified Frenchay scale. According to the subjective evaluation of probands, the therapy had a positive effect on the tremor of the upper limb and on the use of the upper limb in the ADL. Conclusion: Therapy with a special rehabilitation system provides patients with MS with more intensive hand training using...

Koordinovaná rehabilitace z pohledu pacienta po poškození mozku a členů multidisciplinárního týmu

MATĚJKOVÁ, Andrea January 2018 (has links)
Abstract This diploma thesis aims to describe coordinated health rehabilitation of people after severe brain injury provided by multidisciplinary team within home environment. It comprises both theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part presents the history and development of coordinated rehabilitation services and the function of multidisciplinary team. Furthermore, it characterizes a brain injury in more details. The practical part was carried out by means of qualitative research strategy semi structured interview. The first part of the research was aimed at the interviews with clients after brain injury and cerebrovascular accident. The interviews started after three months from entering the project and were realized by social workers. Its main propose was to evaluate the care of multidisciplinary team. Clients were questioned about work, time, communication and co-operation of individual experts involved in the process of recovering. The second part of the research used a method called focus group, where 12 members of the team were involved. The goal of the research was to describe how the multidisciplinary team works from both the point of view of a patient after the brain injury and the members of the multidisciplinary team within the project GAJU. The GAJU project is entitled "Coordinated rehabilitation of patients with brain injury (reg. number GAJU 138/2016/S)". The selection of patients was based on the communicative skills criteria e.g. skills to participate in the directed conversation based on the FIM and WHODAS and the follow-up questions concerning social issues, physiotherapeutic and ergo therapeutic methods and techniques. To achieve the aim of the diploma thesis two research questions were defined: "How is the function of multidisciplinary team perceived by clients involved in GAJU project?" and "How is the function perceived by the members of multidisciplinary team involved in GAJU project who put the coordinated rehabilitation into practice?" It was found out that after the discharge from a hospital being with family members was the most important. Besides, multidisciplinary team who regularly commuted to clients helped them. The members of the team were physiotherapists, ergo therapists, social workers and doctors. In view of the fact that physiotherapist attended the client the most frequently, the function of this expert is perceived as crucial during recovery. No less important is ergo therapist who is useful concerning motor activity and presenting various tools and aids leading to improvement. Social worker is apprehended rather as a psychological or informative support. Positively valued is attending clients at home, interconnection of the team members and the progress of the client from all points of view. On the other hand the lack of working experience of some team members is pointed out. Additionally, some clients were not satisfied that the data were collected by means of questionnaires.
