Prins Eugen som monumentalmålare : A study of mural painting as an artform / Prince Eugen as muralpainter

Persson, Allan January 2006 (has links)

The aim of this essay is to examine the relationship between picture and room, between wallpainting and architecture. The basis for such exploration is the mural painting in Sweden at the turn of the 20th century, and the artist in focus is Prince Eugen (1865-1947).

His works "Sommar"(1904), "Rimfrosr"(1909) & "Staden vid vattnet"(1922) and the rooms in which they are in make for an anlysis concerning how the totality of the space is experienced by the viewer.

The main issue in mentioned expeience is how the mural is perceived with regard to the other elements in the room. And here, the walls' "flatness" enhancing its decorative qualities plays in. The problem with a mural built on the principles of perspective becomes evident when a wall is seen to vanish through the painting of an illusion on it.

The Roman Catholic Church understands religious vocation (as in the case of priests, nuns and consecrated brothers) as a specific calling for only a few special men and women. This vocation is established by the existence of three binding vows: poverty, obedience, and chastity. Those who are called to this function are comprehended as special from God. However, Eugen Drewermann, on his work "God's Servants", renders problematic this ideal model. Through Depth Psychology he seeks to understand the unconscious psychological motives that lead a young person to look for religious vocation as a way of life. Proceeding from the author's statements, the purpose of this research is to examine some issues, like the reasons that lead a young person to look for priesthood on the Catholic Church as a way of life, what psychological aspects affect this choice, and how does it feel for someone who judges himself called, to verify his understanding about the three evangelical counsels and to consider proposals made to the Catholic Church in order to minimize the conflicts experienced by the “elected”.

Eugen Ionescu/Eugène Ionesco - život a dílo / Eugen Ionescu/Eugène Ionesco - Life and Works

Našincová, Klára January 2019 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis is to prove the author's deep roots in the Romanian literary tradition (Urmuz, I. L.Caragiale), to try to prove that the poetics of his famous plays is actually contained in his work from the 30's and echoes of his personal and artistic experience from Romania can be also found in his French mature creative period. Therefore, Ionesco's writings will be compiled for the first time in our country in its wholeness since Czech and Occidental interpreters and comentators have mostly ignored the author's Romanian period of creation. Key Words Eugen Ionescu, Eugène Ionesco, Romanian literature 20th century, French literature 20th century, The Theatre of the Absurd, Romanian literaly exile
