Tracing noise: writing in-between sound

Renaud, Mitch 15 January 2016 (has links)
Noise is noisy. Its multiple definitions cover one another in such a way as to generate what they seek to describe. My thesis tracks the ways in which noise can be understood historically and theoretically. I begin with the Skandalkonzert that took place in Vienna in 1913. I then extend this historical example into a theoretical reading of the noise of Derrida’s Of Grammatology, arguing that sound and noise are the unheard of his text, and that Derrida’s thought allows us to hear sound studies differently. Writing on sound must listen to the noise of the motion of différance, acknowledge the failings, fading, and flailings of sonic discourse, and so keep in play the aporias that constitute the field of sound itself.

Toussaint, Stéphanie 13 September 2016 (has links)
This thesis looks at the experience, by consumers, of multifunctionnal servicescapes. In a context of hypermodernity and collaborative consumption, we investigate the emergence of coworking spaces through an ethnographic approach and three case-studies. We look at how such places are produced and consumed, whereas offering hubs in which to work and live simultaneously. That is, this research highlights that coworking spaces can meld various functions of the space, from work-related experiences to cultural or ludic, single or communal, regular or occasional activities. Thanks to interviews and observational sessions, we show that flexibility and multifunctionnality of the space are key drivers of creativity. We also show that coworking spaces are built by users themselves through various mechanisms of temporary and collective appropriation, and through participatory management. Thus, the way people utilize coworking spaces suggests a new understanding of the serviscape experience as well as a new structural dimension of it: the lived-in experience (habiter).

Moters patyrimo pradėjus dirbti vadove fenomenologinė analizė / The phenomenological analysis of woman’s experience working as a directress

Šalnienė, Saulė 24 September 2008 (has links)
[toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Theorists research and write much about the problems which women face at work; however, they little explore the importance of emotions during direction, do not analyze the nature and intensity of emotions as well as their influence towards women’s feelings when they start superintending the work. The purpose of the work is to reveal the experience of women starting superintending the work. To reveal the experience of women who start working as a directress there was applied the phenomenological research method according to Amadeo Giorgi. 8 women holding managerial position took part in the research. The main selection criterion of the participants of the research was the fact that all participants of the research have experienced the phenomenon under investigation. The results of the research showed that a woman who starts working as a directress experiences: subjective welfare, high self-esteem, doubts about compatibility of managerial position and family, the feelings concerning possible work losing and unfair distribution of work in the collective. The results of the research also showed that high self-esteem is closely related with the feeling of subjective welfare. Negative emotions starting work as a directress are often evoked by both difficulties in coordinating managerial position with household work, children’s upbringing and education, and fear of unfair work distribution in the collective. The experience of doubts about the compatibility of managerial position... [to full text]

RESEBYRÅERS KONKURRENSFÖRDEL UTIFRÅN SEXHÖRNINGEN : Fritidsresor och Ving, vilken resebyrå väljer kunden utefter positioneringen i sexhörningen? / TRAVEL AGENCY COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE BASED ON THE HEXAGON : Fritidsresor and Ving, Which travel agency does the costumer choose along the positioning of the hexagon?

Lindgren, Sofia, Kristiansen, Sarah January 2012 (has links)
Due to the effective globalization more people choose to travel by flight. This leads to that the travel agencies are increasing in a more substantial pace than ever. Ving and Fritidsresor are two travel agencies that have followed the evolution since the mid20th century and have now become two of the leading travel agencies in Sweden. Due to these circumstances it is interesting to compare them to one another. This report is going to mention Ving and Fritidsresors competition advantage and disadvantage out of a costumer’s perspective. To get to know how important these aspects are for the costumer and how they experience that Ving and Fritidsresor supply their needs, we have been using competitionmidmix and the hexagon, which consists of six corners; geography, assortment range, communication, people, service and cost. The study consists of a combined questionnaire, which was made during a travel exhibition the 25th of March, TUR-exhibition in Gothenburg. It consisted of quantitative- and qualitative questions that later has been compared with the current theory. The result shows us that the theory cannot be used in all context, however, the respondents agrees that all the aspects are more  or less important, in some cases in the wrong order in comparison with the theory, The theory talks about a highly engaged products and not a service, that’s why they differ from each other.
