Invalidation, Experiential Avoidance and Child PsychopathologyDonnelly, Jacqueline Eileen January 2012 (has links)

Although it has been hypothesized that chronic emotional invalidation by a parent may have lasting effects on later ability to regulate emotions, and possibly increase the chances of experiencing symptoms of psychopathology, the possible mechanisms surrounding this relationship have not been adequately explored. Further, many investigations have used retrospective reports of invalidation, which may be subject to bias. This pilot study of 19 adolescent-parent dyads explored associations between invalidation, experiential avoidance, and child symptoms of psychopathology in a cross sectional design. Retrospective reports of invalidation as well as an observationally-coded measure of invalidation during laboratory discussions of emotion were utilized, and compared for agreement. The feasibility and acceptability of a larger investigation of these questions is also discussed. It was found that adolescent-reported recalled invalidation seemed to show a stronger pattern of association with observationally coded invalidation than do parent reports. Additionally, several alternative mechanistic hypotheses showed some promise for further exploration. This pilot study was found to be acceptable to participants; however, recruitment of adolescents from a clinical population - and their parents to participate with them - was the greatest obstacle to feasibility for a larger study.
/ Dissertation

Research for minor enterprises¡¦s charges on the intuitional decision making. ~By the Kaohsiung metals model industrial¡¦s charges for research object.Chiu, Ching-hua 18 May 2012 (has links)
Abstract
Intuition is one of human¡¦s instincts. It plays a major part in our daily decision-making. However, people experience intuition to different extents. Some may have deeper experience than others. Some may depend much on intuition in making decisions, while others tend to depend more on reason. Although there is risk in intuitional decision-making, many chiefs of businesses believe that intuition can be reliable for decision-making and therefore have made good achievements. The study investigated the intuition-experiential ability and intuition-experiential engagement of the chiefs in Kaohsiung¡¦s metals model industries and the degree of trust for intuitional decision-making of practical management on their company. The study found that the chief¡¦s age and years of service are not related to their trust in intuitional decision-making; intuition-experiential ability is also not related to their trust in intuitional decision-making. However, the intuition-experiential engagement is related to their trust in intuitional decision-making. The academic contribution this study makes is arranging intuitional conceptions and developing intuitional decision-making model, so that people can understand intuition better and come to have faith in intuition. Moreover, it raises Taiwanese people¡¦s interest in the research of intuition. This study concludes that, in aspect of practice of enterprises, chiefs can trust more in and make use of their intuition.

The Applications of Experiential Theories in the Meeting Place of Direct SellingLee, Hsin-Hsin 12 September 2006 (has links)
Experience economy reinforces not only the correlation intensity between enterprise and its customers, but also the differentiations with competitors. Above all, it enhances value and price, and frees itself from price competition. The operation model and product / service are getting similar in the industry of direct selling, so consciousness of crisis urges those companies to keep close relationship with distributors. Except for reward system, the direct selling companies will seek for intensifying distributor¡¦s willingness and capabilities throughout training and marketing in the ¡§Meeting Place¡¨. The ¡§Meeting Place¡¨ can be regarded as the base where the potential distributors are nurtured. Hence, ¡§participating in every meeting¡¨ has become a key successful factor for direct selling.
This study adopts the method of qualitative research to study how the various experiential theories apply to direct selling. It attempts to define and to confer the above-stated terms based on authors¡¦ practical participation experience and analyzes the triple role, consumer-seller-operator; a distributor plays in the mean time. The conclusions of this study are summarized as follows:
¤@Experiential theories are broadly used in the industry of direct selling, but they lack of systematic planning and thinking.
¤@Experiential theories can fit the triple role of different stages.
¤@A model of the activities in the ¡§Meeting Place¡¨ is built as reference of future application for scholars and direct selling operators.
