The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of physical exercises treating 8-10 year old children’s faulty posture. In order to realize the subjective state of health, physical activity of theese children, the questionnaire was presented for their parents to complete. The research was performed during the period the third of November to the third of April in a health and fitness center „Sveikieji Baltai“. Thirty 8-10 year old children became a part of this research. These children were tested twice – before applying the complex of physical exercises and after it – after 5 months. The strength of trunk muscles was measured in the course of these testings. 15 of these children had to perform the complex of physical exercises in a health and fitness center under control of physical therapist 3 times a week, every session took 45 minutes. Another 15 children had to perform the complex of physical exercises at home under control of their parents. Parents of these children were instructed about the technique of these exercises. Children who had to perform exercises at home had to perform them analogous to children who exercised in a health and fitness center (3 times a week, every session‘s duration – 45 minutes).

The goal of this thesis is to accentuate the communicational aspect of dealing with unconscious manifestations, with emphasis on handling dreams. Based on the analysis of Sigmund Freud's texts, it examines the ways in which we can talk about dreams and other unconscious manifestations and what influence such talk has on the individuals participating in the communicational process. The thesis charts several of Sigmund Freud's important texts that are used as a basis to prove that thanks to the mystery surrounding it, a dream can exert significant influence on communication. Sigmund Freud's theory was chosen for this thesis, whose works about dreams and whose interest in examining unconscious manifestations, such as forgetting, slipping of the tongue, faulty acts and other, contain a communicational potential, whose surface Freud barely scratches, or which he often treats with outright neglect. This research is concerned with poor communication as a source of conflict in the marriage,
as seen from a practical-theological viewpoint. Certain questions presented themselves from
within the theme, namely:
What does Scripture teach regarding communication and poor communication in the
marriage?
What influence do interpersonal differences between marriage partners have on
communication and poor communication in the marriage?
How can marriage partners be guided so that poor communication within the marriage
can be dealt with in such a manner as to enrich their marriage?
Poor communication is the most common problem in marriages. Couples view poor
communication as a major source of interpersonal conflict within the marriage.
With the fall of man the communion between God and man, and between husband and wife
was broken. The redemptive work of Jesus Christ made it possible for this communion
between man and God and husband and wife to be restored. Communication can be effective
when founded on the Scripture and conflict can be a relationship builder.
The purpose of this study was to utilize Zerfass model to conduct a study regarding the meta- and
basis-theoretical perspectives on poor communication and to place it in interaction with a
practice-theory for pastoral theology in mind.
Research has indicated that marital couples experience conflict within the marriage as a result
of poor communication. It also has an effect on their relationship with God. The counsellor
must be able to effectively communicate within his own marriage before he can counsel
married couples.
The conclusion of this research is that married couples that experience conflict as a result of
poor communication can be assisted to overcome this problem and experience sound marital

Fusion of Inverted Repeats Leads to Formation of Dicentric Chromosomes that Cause Genome Instability in Budding YeastKaochar, Salma January 2010 (has links)
Large-scale changes are common in genomes, and are often associated with pathological disorders. In the work presented in this dissertation, I provide insights into how inverted repeat sequences in budding yeast fuse during replication. Fusion leads to the formation of dicentric chromosomes, a translocation, and other chromosomal rearrangements.Using extensive genetics and some molecular analyses, I demonstrate that dicentric chromosomes are key intermediates in genome instability of a specific chromosome in budding yeast. I provide three pieces of evidence that is consistent with this conclusion. First, I detect a recombination fusion junction that is diagnostic of a dicentric chromosome (using a PCR technique). Second, I show a strong correlation between the amount of the dicentric fragment and the frequency of instability of the entire chromosome. Third, I demonstrate that a mutant known to stabilize dicentric chromosomes suppress instability. Based on these observations, I conclude that dicentric chromosomes are intermediates in causing genome instability in this system.Next, we demonstrate that fusion of inverted repeats is general. Both endogenous and synthetic nearby inverted repeats can fuse. Using genetics, I also show that many DNA repair and checkpoint pathways suppress fusion of nearby inverted repeats and genome instability. Based on our analysis, we propose a novel mechanism for fusion of inverted repeats that we term `faulty template switching.'Lastly, I discuss two genes that are necessary for fusion of nearby inverted repeats. I identified a mutant of the Exonuclease 1 (Exo1) and a mutant of anaphase inhibitor securin (Pds1) that suppress nearby inverted repeat fusion and genome instability. Studies of Exo1 and Pds1 provide us with insights into the molecular mechanisms of fusion.Our finding that nearby inverted repeats can fuse to form dicentric chromosomes that lead to genome instability may have great implications. The generality of this fusion reaction raises the possibility that dicentric chromosomes formed by inverted repeats can lead to genome instability in mammalian cells, and thereby contribute to a cancer phenotype.

Error Errore Eicitur: A Stochastic Resonance Paradigm for Reliable Storage of Information on Unreliable MediaIvanis, Predrag, Vasic, Bane 09 1900 (has links)
We give an architecture of a storage system consisting of a storage medium made of unreliable memory elements and an error correction circuit made of a combination of noisy and noiseless logic gates that is capable of retaining the stored information with the lower probability of error than a storage system with a correction circuit made completely of noiseless logic gates. Our correction circuit is based on the iterative decoding of low-density parity check codes, and uses the positive effect of errors in logic gates to correct errors in memory elements. In the spirit of Marcus Tullius Cicero's Clavus clavo eicitur (one nail drives out another), the proposed storage system operates on the principle: error errore eicitur-one error drives out another. The randomness that is present in the logic gates makes these classes of decoders superior to their noiseless counterparts. Moreover, random perturbations do not require any additional computational resources as they are inherent to unreliable hardware itself. To utilize the benefits of logic gate failures, our correction circuit relies on two key novelties: a mixture of reliable and unreliable gates and decoder rewinding. We present a method based on absorbing Markov chains for the probability of error analysis, and explain how the randomness in the variable and check node update function helps a decoder to escape to local minima associated with trapping sets.

Hamiltonovskost hyperkrychlí bez k-hadů a k-cívek / Hamiltonicity of hypercubes without k-snakes and k-coilsPěgřímek, David January 2016 (has links)
A snake (coil) is an induced path (cycle) in a hypercube. They are well known from the snake-in-the-box (coil-in-the-box) problem which asks for the longest snake (coil) in a hypercube. They have been generalized to k-snakes (k-coils) which preserve distances between their every two vertices at distance at most k − 1 in hypercube. We study them as a variant of Locke's hypothesis. It states that a balanced set F ⊆ V (Qn) of cardinality 2m can be avoided by a Hamiltonian cycle if n ≥ m + 2 and m ≥ 1. We show that if S is a k-snake (k-coil) in Qn for n ≥ k ≥ 6 (n ≥ k ≥ 7), then Qn − V (S) is Hamiltonian laceable. For a fixed k the number of vertices of a k-coil may even be exponential with n. We introduce a dragon, which is an induced tree in a hypercube, and its generalization a k-dragon which preserves distances between its every two vertices at distance at most k−1 in hypercube. By proving a specific lemma from my Bachelor thesis that was previously verified by a computer, we finish the proof of the theorem regarding Hamiltonian laceability of hypercubes without n-dragons.

Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) is a systematic and comprehensive methodology to evaluate risks associated with a complex engineered technological entity. The information provided by PSA has been increasingly implemented for regulatory purposes but rarely used in providing information for operation and maintenance activities. As one of the key parts in PSA, Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) attempts to model and analyze failure processes of engineering and biological systems. The fault trees are composed of logic diagrams that display the state of the system and are constructed using graphical design techniques.
Risk Importance Measures (RIMs) are information that can be obtained from both qualitative and quantitative aspects of FTA. Components within a system can be ranked with respect to each specific criterion defined by each RIM. Through a RIM, a ranking of the components or basic events can be obtained and provide valuable information for risk-informed decision making. Various RIMs have been applied in various applications. In order to provide a thorough understanding of RIMs and interpret the results, they are categorized with respect to risk significance (RS) and safety significance (SS) in this thesis. This has also tied them into different maintenance activities. When RIMs are used for maintenance purposes, it is called risk-informed maintenance.
On the other hand, the majority of work produced on the FTA method has been concentrated on failure logic diagrams restricted to the direct or implied use of AND and OR operators. Such systems are considered as coherent systems. However, the NOT logic can also contribute to the information produced by PSA. The importance analysis of non-coherent systems is rather limited, even though the field has received more and more attention over the years. The non-coherent systems introduce difficulties in both qualitative and quantitative assessment of the fault tree compared with the coherent systems.
In this thesis, a set of RIMs is analyzed and investigated. The 8 commonly used RIMs (Birnbaum‘s Measure, Criticality Importance Factor, Fussell-Vesely Measure, Improvement Potential, Conditional Probability, Risk Achievement, Risk Achievement Worth, and Risk Reduction Worth) are extended to non-coherent forms. Both coherent and non-coherent forms are classified into different categories in order to assist different types of maintenance activities. The real systems such as the Steam Generator Level Control System in CANDU Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), a Gas Detection System, and the Automatic Power Control System of the experimental nuclear reactor are presented to demonstrate the application of the results as case studies. / UOIT
