Projektet visar hur man med relativt lite kunskap om programmering kan ta fram en lösning som både är cross-platform och enkel att underhålla och vidareutveckla med ytterligare funktioner i framtiden. Systemet är gjort i Filemaker Pro 13/14 som också är klienten för Mac OS X och används för mobila enheter via Filemaker Go 13/14. Personalen på kostymavdelningen på NorrlandsOperan har tidigare arbetat med en struktur där information och bilder kring produktionen sparats i olika Excel eller Word-dokument för att sen sparas på en gemensam filserver. Detta arbetssätt skapar problem kring dokumentation, att hitta information och att jobba mobilt. Lösningen är framtagen för att understödja personalen i deras arbete och följer en tydlig ordning med vilka objekt som är relaterade till vilka andra objekt. Det är lätt att hitta relevant information och att söka på flera olika parametrar för att hitta information. Det går att använda samma artister i flera olika produktioner för att behålla data som mått på artister och bilder på artister. Det finns möjlighet att söka på en eller flera artister och få en lista över vilka kostymer de ska använda sig av i föreställningen och i vilken scen kostymerna ska användas. / The project is an example of developing a relational database that is cross-platform and easy to maintain and develop in the future without a lot of programming knowledge. The system is created in Filemaker Pro 13/14 which also serves as the client for Mac OS X and the client for mobile devices is Filemaker Go 13/14. The employees at the costume department at NorrlandsOperan have in the past worked primarily with Word and Excel documents in a shared fileserver environment. Some problems with this kind of solution are regarding documentation, finding information and working on the go. The solution is inteded to give the employees a logical order in which to do regular processes involved in a production as well as to add relevant data to these processes. Searching for information is easy and flexible. The data about the performers in the production is easy to use in new productions and the data carries over from one production to the next. Another feature is the ability to search for costumes that a performer will use in a production and also to view information about which scene the costumes are being used.

Vid diagnostisering av hjärtsjukdomar används ofta ekokardiografi för kartläggning av hjärtats storlek, funktion och blodflöde. Dessa undersökningar utförs dagligen på Fysiologkliniken vid Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset. Idag sker inmatning av undersökningsvärdena manuellt och sparas i pappersarkiv. Målet med detta projekt var att skapa en databas som tar hand om dessa värden och effektiviserar det dagliga arbetet. Detta projekt är en fortsättning på ett tidigare projekt från 2012, vilket inte kunde avslutas i tid. Databasen har skapats i databasprogrammet FileMaker och har till stor del utformats efter en modifierad version av den kravspecifikation som sattes upp i det tidigare projektet. Projektet resulterade i en databas som för närvarande går under namnet CardioEchoBase (CEB) vilken uppfyller alla de krav som ställdes förutom automatisk importering av värden från ultraljudsmaskiner. / When diagnosing heart diseases echocardiography is often used for identification of cardiac size, function and blood flow. These examinations are carried out daily at the Department of Clinical Physiology at Karolinska University Hospital. Today, entry of examination values is done manually and stored in paper files. The goal of this project was to create a database that takes care of these values and streamlines their daily work. This project is a continuation of a prior project from 2012, which could not be completed in time. The database has been created in the database software FileMaker and has mainly been designed after a revised version of the specification of requirements set in the previous project. The project resulted in a database that currently goes by the name CardioEchoBase (CEB) which meets all the requirements that was set besides automatic import of data from ultrasound machines.

Data management and analysis represent a major challenge for microarray studies. In this study, Affymetrix software was used to analyze an HIV-infection data. The microarray analysis shows remarkably different results when using different parameters provided by the software. This highlights the fact that a standardized analysis tool, incorporating biological information about the genes is needed in order to better interpret the microarray study. To address the data management problem, in-house programs, including scripts and a database, were designed. The in-house programs were also used to overcome problems and inconveniences discovered during the data analysis, including management of the gene lists. The database provides rapid connection to many online public databases, as well as the integration of the original microarray data, relevant publications and other useful information. The in-house programs allow investigators to process and analyze the full Affymetrix microarray data in a speedy manner.

Nowadays the importance of disposing of some information system still grows - organizations are more and more dependent on these systems, because they consider it to be storage of their valuable data. So they are still trying to improve those systems. Their importance grows even in the area of small business. These small businessmen appre-ciate improving situation of affordability of software solutions which they can use for supporting their business. Custom made or customized solutions which could be still developed are very appreciated. This diploma thesis deals with customization of MMSP methodics (Methodics for Small Software Projects) in FileMaker software. FileMaker is a computer program developed for creating individual information systems focusing on personal or business matters. FileMaker contains starting solutions which can be used right after installation the software (invoicing, project planning etc.). But it does not contain guidelines or any methodics which can be used during devel-opment of an individual system. In this thesis, I have edited the MMSP methodics and delivered new steps in order to support development in FileMaker software. The main benefit of this thesis is the customization of the MMSP methodics for using it during projects which deal with FileMaker software or similar during creation of a new system. This custom-ized methodics can be used as a supplement of the MMSP.

This project will show how a computer-based information management system can be used by elementary school teachers. Using a desktop database manager software, FileMaker Pro, this project will describe how technology can help a classroom teacher manage information through an application model.

Sig sigma is a methodology where companies strive to reproduce results ending up having a 99.9996% chance their product will be void of defects. In order for companies to reach six sigma, statistical process control (SPC) needs to be introduced. SPC has many different tools associated with it, control charts being one of them. Control charts play a vital role in managing how a process is behaving. Control charts allow users to identify special causes, or shifts, and can therefore change the process to keep producing good products, free of defects. There are many factories and manufacturing facilities having implemented some sort of statistical process control. St. Jude Medical implemented control charts to monitor different tools on the manufacturing line. How the data is entered and stored poses a difficult situation for the person monitoring the processes. The program used to keep the control charts is not user friendly and difficult to use. Another program can be produced to provide a greater level of efficiency. The goals of this project are to stress how important control charts are in the manufacturing world, what problems are currently seen for operators and supervisors, and how a new and improved program can help fix the current situation. This paper goes into the reasons for the change as well has what has been improved.
