This diploma thesis responds to the innovative trends and the causes of these changes in the science education.. The theoretical part of the thesis deals primarily with Inquiry-Based (Science) Education. It is focused on its definition, main features and its position in the Czech educational system. The main goal of this thesis and an output of the practical part is creating a portfolio with Inquiry-Based Science Education tasks in the physical geography (geology, geomorphology, pedology and biogeography) intended for the 2nd stage of primary schools.

The diploma thesis deals with the problems of regional education and local region taught at the first level of primary school. It consists of two parts. The theoretical part explains the importance of local region taught and places it among the curriculum. This part concerns the geographical characteristics of the region SO ORP Horažďovice too. The following practical part is composed of educational materials focused on the local region. It is set of suggestions of education aimed at 4th and 5th class of primary school with worksheets. The practical part applies the knowledge of the theoretical part. The educational materials are in conformity with the Framework Educational Programme for Elementary Education.

Diploma thesis resulted from a part of the experimental project of the department of geography ? Pedagogical Faculty, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, which was supported with the grant agency sb. u. (grant no. 072/2010/s). It discusses the problems of suburbanization in the agglomeration of České Budějovice, specifically the suburbs of the southern and south-western sectors. Exploration included various aspects of suburban geography, where there were elaborate social, economic and demographic problems. I observe suburban transformation from the socialist and post-socialist period to the present. Due to the complex problems of the topic, three main aims were identified to reflect the substance of the work. To achieve them, the literature review revealed useful information and thematic maps were created. Data was collected in the chosen localities and analysis of dates, terrain mapping, dialogues and examinations with mayors of the municipalities were carried out. The theoretical part describes chosen characterizations of the social-geographical world, for example inhabitants, industry, agriculture, services, travelling and transport. The following chapters discuss aspects of the exploration of suburbanization, according to theories and literature. They explain reasons and conditions of suburban actions in the worlds? developed countries, suburbanization in the U. S. A. and in the western and post-socialist Europe. The practical part of the work used quantitative research, included collecting data about the typology of the seats, analysis of the development of inhabitants in suburban municipalities, the age of the permanently inhabited houses, number of built flats, processions and another problems in the suburbs. The results of this research can be used as a resource for information about the suburban development of smaller towns. The work is able to serve not only as informative material for the mayors of individual municipalities but is also able to help the municipal authorities of České Budějovice.

This thesis is based on time-space conception. It engages with analysis of moving trajectories of one population segment (university students) in urban city systém of České Budějovice. Analysis is based on primary datas which were made thanks to longitudinal survey. The aim of this survey was to find and generalize some special and repeating model of spatial behavior university students in different time periods, identification of typical social situations and structural charasteristics urban system in České Budějovice. The first part of this thesis is theoretical, it engages with are as of behavioral geography and time-space geography. The second part of this thesis is formed by practical part, which is aim at results and evaluation of research.

Prokopová, M. (2013): Telč region - Local region in teaching at the Second Grade of Primary School. Thesis, University of South Bohemia, Pedagogical Faculty, Department of Geography, 85 pages. The thesis focuses on teaching about Telč region theme in basic schools. The thesis is composed from theoretical and practical parts. The purpose of the theoretical part of this work is to characterize Telč region and define its place in educational curriculum with emphasis on the key competences. The practical part based on empirical research summarizes findings of students´ knowledge about the region. The questionnaire examines different types of educational ways of teachers. According to this research I suggest my own conception (teaching methods, excursions, projects and workbooks) proceeding from The Czech Educational Curriculum for basic schools.

This diploma thesis deals with changes of the spatial organization of the Roman Catholic Church in the Czech Republic with specialization in Diocese of České Budějovice. It follows the territorial development of this diocese from the emergence of Czechoslovakia to the defined present time period and with a comparison with changing territorial- administrative division of the country, historical-political and demographic development in the company is looking for reasons for changes in territorial-administrative division of the Roman Catholic Church. The part of the diploma thesis are thematic maps, which picture the spatial organization of the Roman Catholic Church in the Czech Republic and Diocese of České Budějovice, which is examined, including comparison with the territorial-administrative division of the country.

Na základě studia literatury a marketingového šetření byly stanoveny cíle a hypotézy diplomové práce a ty byly následně osvětleny a potvrzeny.

This diploma thesis deals with methodical preparation of a university textbook of the regional geography of South America and is designed for students of geography teaching at the Faculty of Education of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. The main part of the thesis is presented by a proposal of a comprehensive outline of the multimedia textbook of the regional geography of South America. An integral and essential part of the thesis is a sample of a regionally geographical characteristic of Peru in a multimedia form (DVD media). This diploma thesis contains besides didactical (practical) parts also indispensable theoretical chapters {--} introduction, extensive analysis of various literature and other materials, methodology, conclusion, list of literature and used data sources.

Urban movements are defined as groups of citizens that try to emphasize urban problems. Originally urban movements in reference to Manuel Castells addressed issues arising from the collective consumption and uneven accumulation of capital to government. The interest of current urban movements is broader. They focus on topics as quality of urban life, accessibility of urban spaces and urban infrastructure and policy making process. The aim of this diploma thesis is to describe urban movements in the context of civic society in Prague. The thesis focuses on the origin, activities, topics and relations of urban movements. The case study focuses on urban movements participating on three topics in city district Prague 8 (eco-centre Trojský vrch, Invalidovna in Karlín and Libeňský most). Semi- structured interviews were conducted with representatives of involved urban movements and selected local politicians. Results of the research imply that Czech urban movements actively influence neighbourhoods. Activities of urban movements are affected by the members' relation to the locality, but also by the territorial scope of movements. Flexibility and localization of work in Czechia 1991-2011: analysis of the spatial aspects The working process, its arrangement and its consequences have been a crucial part of a development of society in space. Work as a significant factor forming the space gets into the interest of social geography, at least until the Industrial Revolution, which led to a spatial mismatch between a place of residence and a place of work. The process of social transformation, together with the macroeconomic changes affecting post-socialist countries and the mass development of mobile information and communication technologies in the post- revolutionary period, stimulated a significant change in the issues of job localization and the differentiation of forms of work that became less embedded in the sense of temporal, spatial and functional meanings. This transformation led to irregularity of spatial movements associated with commuting to work on the one hand and its delocalization, or disappearance from physical space, and moving to the virtual space on the other. Hence, commuting to work and the relationship between home and work place is one of the crucial topics of Albertov's social geography.
