This thesis is on the study of the characterization of interfaces and surfaces of high-k stacks for the future microelectronics. The changes of the high-k stacks during thermal processing and its mechanism have been experimentally investigated by high-resolution Rutherford Backscattering Spectrometry (HRBS) in combination with isotope tracing. The experimental results are consistent with the theoretical prediction that the silicon will be emitted outward to release the stress which is induced by the interface Si oxidation. Then, we studied the potential method, oxygen-gettering by Ti overlayer, for controlling the interface SiO2 thickness. Furthermore, we proposed a Time-Of-Flight (TOF) detector system for application on crystallographic analysis. TOF-RBS system is capable to analyze the sample’s crystallographic and chemical information even at the near surface of the sample, which is strongly required by the future microelectronics industry. In order to design an educational system that reflects Pakistani culture and ideology, teacher education programs must be developed which reflect the overall expectations by the country's various social, economic, and educational institutions. Such a program should take the lead in not only developing the educational system but also in establishing priorities in social, economic, and educational changes.

The problem of this study was to determine the criteria and procedures used by superintendents of selected public high schools districts in Texas in the selection of high school principals. This study had two main purposes : (1) to ascertain criteria and procedures that the superintendents of selected public school districts of Texas are using in the selection of high school principals, and (2) to make recommendations to improve the selecting of high school principals.

This study attempts to ascertain the status of, the enrollments in, and the offerings available in business education as well as the relationship between business education and other subject fields in grades ten, eleven, and twelve of the Oklahoma public high schools for the school year 1976-1977.
