Počátky sportovní žurnalistiky na stránkách periodického tisku na přelomu 19. a 20.století. Sport jako součást českého masového tisku / Beginnings of czech sport journalism at the turn of the 19th and 20th century. Sport as a part of czech press.

Lukšů, David January 2011 (has links)
This dissertation is the very first scholarly text to bring a wider perspective on the genesis of Czech sport journalism, starting with its beginnings in the latter half of the 1800's and extending to the year of 1918, when this profession became an independent branch of the newspaper business. Given the paucity of original literature, the present work is based primarily on the study of period newspapers and archival materials, employing mainly the direct and the indirect methods of historiography. The main purpose of it was to describe the formation of the discipline of sport journalism in the broader context of the Czech society, sports and media, rather than regarding it as an independent, isolated process. The constituent parts of this dissertation, which renders the dawn of Czech sport journalism, include the most important titles of the day as well as the key personalities in the publishing and journalism of the period, the issue of sport reportage within the established political press, and also the genesis of the professions of sport journalist and sport photographer. The chapters that place the main theme within a wider historical context compare the brief description of the evolution of sport journalism in the Czech lands to the origins of sport journalism in other countries (Great Britain, USA,...

The Aesthetic Aspect of Knowledge Acquisition in the European Renaissance and Early Modern Period

Avxentevskaya, Maria January 2015 (has links)
Maria Avxentevskaya How to discover things with words? John Wilkins: from inventio to invention Abstract in English My doctoral thesis explores the functions of rhetorical and dialectical devices in the argumentative style of John Wilkins (1614−1672). My study traces the development of his discursive techniques in scientific narratives, theological writings, and linguistic treatises, with the aim to examine how the interplay between cognitive and performative language enhanced early-modern practices of knowledge-making. I argue that the procedures of dialectical rhetoric, apart from being popular perlocutionary tools, were effective as heuristic instruments. Language was one of the important agents in the performing of science, and my study employs the concept of "performative knowing" as a key to Wilkins's dialectical and scientific inventions. The idea of performative knowing straddles several constituents derived from the analytic philosophy and speech act theory. From this perspective, Wilkins's undertakings appear as a coherent exercise in the art of making knowledge through persuasive communication. My thesis explores how Wilkins's argumentative method departs from baroque rhetorical flair of The Discovery of a World in the Moone (1638), explores the capacity of rhetoric to impart scientific...

Karel Engliš mezi prvorepublikovou elitou / Karel Engliš among the Elite of the First Republic

Hlaváč, Martin January 2015 (has links)
The main goal of my dissertation is to analyze the personality of Engliš, who was an important representative of the scientific and financial elites during the period of the First Republic. I will venture to explain the causes of his rise during the First Republic and aim to characterize his relations with other elites. The term "elite" refers not only to representatives of the political and financial life of the First Republic, but also to the important leaders of its scientific and cultural scenes. In my dissertation I want to address the relationships between the elite of the First Republic and Karel Engliš. Public opinion played an important role in the relations between Engliš and the elite of the First Republic, in particular as Engliš was presented in the media and how the public perceived him. His family was supportive of Karel Engliš but also caused him many problems. I have found the main material for my thesis in the archive of the National Museum (Archiv Národního muzea), the Literary Archive of the Museum of Czech Literature (Literární archiv Památníku národního písemnictví), the archive of Charles University (Archiv Univerzity Karlovy), the archive of Masaryk University in Brno (Archiv Masarykovy univerzity v Brně) and the archive of the National Bank of the Czech Republic (Archiv...

Role a postavení sociálních pracovníků v systému sociální péče v Mongolsku / The Role and Status of Social Workers in the Social Care System in Mongolia

TSOODOL, Khaliun January 2013 (has links)
The Diploma thesis deals with the role and status of social workers in the social welfare system in Mongolia defines the basic concepts and characteristics of a social system care in contemporary society. With the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, fell in Mongolia communist regime and adopted a free market economy. Rapid political and economic changes over the last decade has caused many families poverty, many of them have lost the opportunity to care for their children. As a result, many children left their families, many are homeless and live on the streets or in institutionalized orphanages. The road to democracy was attacked corruption, economic crisis and political movements. In July 2008 along political committees have brought hope to a common agreement. In Mongolia, social work began its operations in 1997 as a result of the recognition of the needs of professional intervention in urgent social problems caused by social, political and economic transformation from a communist Mongolian society to a democratic, which took place in 1990. Democratic change has laid a solid foundation for the promotion of social justice, human rights and civil society development in the country. Social work as a professional discipline in Mongolia is new, so the next challenge for social workers is to introduce and popularize the role of social work. Even more important is the pursuit of the development of the national identity of the social worker. Given the novelty of professional and institutional development is needed to develop programs designed to support local, national and regional needs and priorities, to promote professional development and practice-based learning, and create educational resources. The qualitative research was conducted four interviews with social workers, each of them working in different areas of the city. The fifth interview I had with a professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of UlanBator. Data obtained through interviews I compiled using open coding. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the issue of social care in the capital UlanBator. The operational objective of the thesis is to identify specifically describe and analyze the current status of social workers. The research showed that in Mongolia is not clearly defined system of Social Work and Social Services Act, which would define the exact role of social workers. In today's society in Mongolia role of the social worker is varied. The issue of social work is that the Mongolian government is focusing more on cash assistance, but does not take account of social work in the form of direct intervention to the citizens. The opportunity to study abroad is expensive, costs associated with the study must cover themselves. The contribution of this work is to contribute to the understanding of the overall situation of social workers and obstacles to their further development. Our results obtained could also contribute to the understanding of social work in general.

I used the method of synthesis, proposal and demonstration. Using these methods should help to be well informed about this issue, submit important facts and mark the importance of nuns´ nursing care. Acquired knowledge is thoroughly processed into individual chapters by arrangements and its context. The significant resourceswere unpublished materials from church orders and interviews with nuns. One big part of information is from historical magazines and from sources in the National Archive and the Archive of the Capital of Prague. The thesis should serve all people who want to get to know their job from a different point of view and consider how the faith could lead a person to support and determination to work unselfishly and with self-sacrification for others who suffer from illnesses and poverty. It is exactly this unselfish and self-sacrificing work of nuns which can be an example for us how to treat the patiens with respect and understanding.
