Intraprenörskapets olika skepnader : En kvalitativ studie om att finna det som karaktäriseras för ett intraprenörskap och dess möjliggörande i organisationer

Berggren, Marie, Mårtensson, Marianne January 2014 (has links)
By interviewing 10 people in leadership positions from various companies and      countries, this thesis had as main objective to find out how the view the of what environment promotes the intrapreneur to make the organizations more competitive and successful. By transcribing and interpreting the interviews, we have found the keywords that could answer our research question. Our method has been based on a qualitative approach with an inductive direction. The leadership has been shown to have a significant role in terms of company culture and the intrapreneurs ability to contribute to the development of the organizations. The culture is essential. If allowed, the intraprenur will have an impact on both strategies and operational conduct. This thesis highlights intraprenuer promotion roles within the organization.

Horizontal Shear Transfer Between Ultra High Performance Concrete And Lightweight Concrete

Banta, Timothy E. 28 March 2005 (has links)
Ultra high performance concrete, specifically Ductal® concrete, has begun to revolutionize the bridge design industry. This extremely high strength material has given smaller composite sections the ability to carry larger loads. As the forces being transferred through composite members are increasing in magnitude, it is vital that the equations being used for design are applicable for use with the new materials. Of particular importance is the design of the horizontal shear reinforcement connecting the bridge deck to the top flange of the beams. Without adequate shear transfer, the flexural and shearing capacities will be greatly diminished. The current design equations from ACI and AASHTO were not developed for use in designing sections composed of Ductal® and Lightweight concrete. Twenty-four push-off tests were performed to determine if the current horizontal shear design equations could accurately predict the horizontal shear strength of composite Ductal® and Lightweight concrete sections. Effects from various surface treatments, reinforcement ratios, and aspect ratios, were determined. The results predicted by the current design equations were compared to the actual results found during testing. The current design equations were all found to be conservative. For its ability to incorporate various cohesion and friction factors, it is recommended that the equation from AASHTO LRFD Specification (2004) be used for design. / Master of Science

A Mathematical Model of Horizontal Wells Productivity and Well Testing Analysis

Lu, Jing 07 September 1998 (has links)
This thesis presents new productivity and well testing formulae of horizontal wells. Taking a horizontal well as a uniform line source, this thesis finds velocity potential formula and the productivity formulae for a horizontal well in an ellipsoid of revolution drainage volume by solving analytically the involved three-dimensional partial differential equations. These formulae can account for the advantages of horizontal wells, and they are more accurate than other formulae which are based on two-dimensional hypotheses. This thesis also presents new well testing formulae of horizontal wells in a single porosity system and a double porosity system. Compared with the formulae published in the literature, our formulae, which do not use the sum of infinite series, are more reasonable and easy to be used in well testing analysis. / Master of Science

Evaluating Transmission Barriers to Escherichia coli x Saccharomyces cerevisiae interkingdom conjugation

Haslett, Nicholas David January 2006 (has links)
Conjugation is a fundamentally important mechanism of horizontal DNA transfer between bacteria, bacteria x archea, and bacteria x eukaryotes. This work has concentrated on conjugation between bacteria x eukaryotes, specifically Escherichia coli x Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Four hypotheses were tested, investigating the barriers to this particular form of DNA transfer. The first investigated if a mutation that altered the cell-surface of the recipient S. cerevisiae could inhibit DNA transfer. The final three utilised a recombination-dependent-conjugation assay to investigate the barrier to DNA transmission through recombination. The hypotheses tested if the frequency of recombination, in this recombination-dependent-conjugation assay, differed when using similar or diverged DNA substrates, if a mismatch repair mutation within the recipient could affect the frequencies of recombination observed, and if the position on the plasmid of the gene of interest affected the frequency of transmission. Transmission of the Ura3 DNA sequence in the recipient S. cerevisiae was used to test all four hypotheses. The cell wall mutants mnn9, knr4, fks1 and kre6 were utilised to investigate if the cell-surface of the recipient could affect the frequency of transmission. The similar and diverged substrates utilised in the investigation of the affect of sequence similarity on recombination were the DNA sequences of ura3 from S. cerevisiae and Saccharomyces carlsbergensis, respectively and the MMR mutants utilised were msh2, pms1 and pol30-52. Cell wall mutants were not found to limit the frequency of transfer once donor-recipient contact was induced through the solid surface mating procedure. Sequence similarity, MMR and the relative position of the ura3 DNA sequence on the conjugative plasmids were shown to have little effect on the frequency of transmission in S. cerevisiae. This suggests that any DNA that enters the nucleus of S. cerevisiae (eukaryotes) can recombine with the chromosome and alter it to the same extent. However, trends within the data also suggest that DNA is transferred into the recipient and then transported to the nucleus to recombine with the chromosome as a single-stranded DNA molecule.

因應紅色供應鏈崛起之水平併購策略 以本土電源線製造公司為例

黃郁穎, Huang, Yu Ying Unknown Date (has links)

Horizontal learning and social media in an international development network

Gibson, Terence January 2012 (has links)
The growth of networks in international development, accelerated by communications possibilities provided by new social media, offers the potential for richer access by local groups to information and ideas on which to base development activities. However, a long history of participation in development shows that information is often imparted in a top down way, vesting control and power in institutions external to the local groups who wish to make use of it. Frameworks for social learning such as Communities of Practice tend to focus on collaborative learning from experience, rather than such a 'top down' transmission of information, offering the possibility that they may enable horizontal learning between geographically distributed groups linked by social media. Through a three year co-operative enquiry within the newly established Global Network for Disaster Reduction, this action research investigates whether horizontal learning employing social media can enable this network to share learning and thereby support grassroots development. The research finds that the structure and relationships within such an internationally distributed network lead to a qualitatively different mode of learning framed as a Community of Praxis. It proposes that this framework can be further elaborated and applied within network contexts to encourage the possibility of a different emphasis in development.
