Paranapiacaba é considerada patrimônio ambiental, histórico, tecnológico e arquitetônico, tendo sua origem ligada à instalação do sistema funicular inglês na região, em meados do século XIX. Trata-se de um conjunto arquitetônico tombado nas instâncias municipal, estadual e federal e indicado para pertencer ao Patrimônio Mundial pela UNESCO. Todas essas características fazem com que a experiência de seu habitar seja peculiar, sobretudo no que concerne às particularidades do tombamento, dos bens imóveis (a casa, o conjunto) e móveis (artefatos), pelos órgãos de proteção que visam à preservação e manutenção do patrimônio cultural. Por essa razão, o trabalho em tela tem como objetivo apresentar a experiência vivida dos moradores junto à paisagem. Acreditamos que a natureza intrínseca do habitar complica-se, ainda mais, quando a casa é “tombada”. Como, então, o fenômeno da paisagem se apresenta nessa circunstância? Esse fenômeno, que amalgama a expressão do patrimônio habitado, eleva exponencialmente a experiência vivida na casa. As ações foram realizadas em colaboração com os moradores, poder público e órgãos de proteção ao patrimônio cultural. Por tratar-se de um complexo sítio histórico, arquitetônico e tecnológico, de contexto ferroviário, com poucas intervenções de trabalhos arqueológicos, muitos dos vestígios materiais estão de posse dos moradores, que realizam, eles próprios, a curadoria de seus achados. Esses objetos jazem espalhados pela vila, seja nos quintais das casas, nos “lixões”, nas ruas e em outras dependências e/ou instalações da SPR (São Paulo Railway). Com o tempo, os moradores passaram a guardar esses objetos em suas casas, incorporando-os ao seu mobiliário doméstico. Sabendo das implicâncias implícitas em tal fenômeno, articulamos os diversos sujeitos sociais envolvidos, procurando, de forma dialógica e transversal, realizar atuações no âmbito da educação patrimonial. As reflexões aqui levantadas dizem respeito aos processos relacionados às ressignificações dos artefatos arqueológicos. Tomamos tal situação como contextual, cuja prática é uma forma de fortalecer identidades, por meio de novas narrativas, que se canalizam na cultura material. / This work deals with the landscape of the village of Paranapiacaba, which is located approximately 50 km from the city of São Paulo, in the city of Santo André, São Paulo. Paranapiacaba is considered an environmental, historical, technological and architectural patrimony, having its origin linked to the installation of the English funicular system in the region, in the middle of the 19th century. It is an architectural complex registered in the municipal, state and federal instances and indicated to be listed as one of the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage sites. All these characteristics make the experience of its dwelling peculiar, especially concerning the particularities of its heritage listing, its real estate (the house, the set) and its movable property (artifacts), by the protective organs that aim at the preservation and maintenance of the cultural heritage. For this reason, this work aims to present the experience lived by the residents along with the landscape. We believe that the intrinsic nature of dwelling becomes even more complicated when the house is a "heritage listed place." How, then, does the phenomenon of landscape present itself in this circumstance? This phenomenon, which amalgamates the expression of the inhabited patrimony, exponentially increases the experience lived in the house. The actions were carried out in collaboration with residents, public authorities and organs of protection of cultural heritage. As it is a complex historical, architectural and technological site, with a railway context, with few interventions of archaeological works, many of the material remains are in the possession of the residents, who curate their findings by themselves. These objects lie scattered throughout the village, either in the backyards of houses, in the garbage dumps, on the streets and in other facilities of the SPR (São Paulo Railway). Over time, residents began to store these objects in their homes, incorporating them into their home furnishings. Knowing the implications implicit in this phenomenon, we articulated the various social subjects involved, seeking, in a dialogical and transversal way, to perform actions in the area of heritage education. The reflections raised here refer to the processes related to the re-significances of the archaeological artifacts. We take this situation as contextual, whose practice is a way of strengthening identities, through new narratives, which are channeled into the material culture. / CNPq: 131828/2014-2

The brazilian novel portraits a countryside family which has a hard life in the northeastern backwoods due to the drought phenomenon that reaches the region where these people live and, because of that, they move to other regions in search of surviving.The Capeverdian book points out a sad scenery in which the drought reaches all aspects of life of the characters forcing them to be reduced to the removers plagued condition by hunger. The analysis will be done based on the principles and concepts of the Cultural Humanist Geography, in which discussions related to landscape, space, place, topophilia, topophobia,perception and experience will be held in the light of this Humanist bias of phenomenological-existential basis, developted, by Eric Dardel, YiFu Tuan, Edward Relph and others. The Geography and Literature specificities will be showed as well as the contacts and distance aspects between these two study areas. It will be emphasized the historical, social and cultural contextualization of both books, based on their aesthetic-literary value. / Objetiva-se com o presente estudo analisar a geograficidade em duas obras importantes das literaturas em língua portuguesa intituladas Vidas secas, do brasileiro Graciliano Ramos e Os flagelados do vento leste, do cabo-verdiano Manuel Lopes. O romance brasileiro trata de uma família sertaneja que leva uma vida sofrida no sertão nordestino devido ao fenômeno da seca que assola a região onde vive e, por causa disso, desloca-se para outras regiões em busca da sobrevivência. A obra caboverdiana evidencia um cenário desolador em que a seca assola todos os aspectos da vida das personagens a ponto de reduzi-las à condição de retirantes flageladas pela fome. A análise será realizada a partir dos princípios e conceitos da Geografia Humanista Cultural, em que serão discutidos os conceitos de paisagem, espaço, lugar, topofilia, topofobia, percepção e experiência à luz desse viés humanista de base fenomenológico-existencial, desenvolvido, sobretudo, por Eric Dardel, Yi-Fu Tuan, Edward Relph e outros. Serão evidenciadas as especificidades da Geografia e da Literatura, bem como os pontos de aproximação e distanciamento entre as duas áreas do conhecimento. Será dada ênfase à contextualização histórica, social e cultural das respectivas obras, em que pese seu valor estético-literário.

Ligação passível de ser percebida nas vivências por onde passou e também nas obras que escreveu. Diante dessa geografia que pulsa em Rachel, propomos a tese de que uma geografia primordial lhe é imanente, permeando sua vida e sua obra. A fim de desvelarmos essa geografia, apresentamos pessoas, paisagens e lugares de grande importância para a escritora; analisamos escritos que nos permitem relacionar os aspectos geográficos e telúricos que circundam a sua trajetória; e dedicamo-nos aos sete romances que Rachel escreveu, deslindando mundos que ela imaginativamente (re)criou. Geografia literária que (re)apresenta, com cores próprias e originais, a terra e a gente do Brasil, do Nordeste, do Sertão e do Ceará e revela que os destinos e as buscas dos personagens de Rachel traduzem em muito os seus próprios caminhos. Maneira de entendermos a condição humana, substancialmente geográfica, que permeia a nossa experiência. / Rachel de Queiroz was a writer deeply attached to her land and her people. It builds a connection that can be seized in the experiences she had in the places she knew and also in the literary works she wrote. In face of this geography that breathes in Rachel, we propose the thesis that a primary geography is immanent to her, applying to her life and her work. To reveal this geography, we presented people, landscapes and places of great importance to the writer; analyzed writings that allow us to relate the geographic and telluric aspects which permeate her journey; and have dedicated to the seven novels that Rachel wrote, unraveling worlds she (re)created in an imaginative way. Literary geography that (re)presents, in its own and original colors, the land and the people of Brazil, Northeast, Sertão and Ceará and reveals that destinations and searches of Rachel's characters translate her own paths. O constante refletir sobre si mesma é uma das mais importantes características da ciência, é desse modo que ela avança e procura compreender novas realidades e tecer novas maneiras de ver o mundo. Nesse contexto, a geografia não poderia se furtar à permanente autoreflexão. Uma das maneiras de percorrer os caminhos que a geografia tem trilhado é buscar conhecer a obra de grandes geógrafos, em especial, daqueles que efetivamente marcam grandes inovações e abrem novos horizontes para a nossa ciência. Esta tese, então, é fruto de uma profunda exploração na geografia de Yi-Fu Tuan, um dos fundadores da geografia humanista. Suas reflexões enriqueceram e, sobretudo, propuseram à geografia a abertura de novas abordagens e temas de análise: às suas mais conhecidas concepções sobre espaço e lugar, somam-se debates sobre os valores, a moral, o escapismo, a bondade, a criação de pets, o cosmopolitismo e ainda a comunidade e o indivíduo. Para um profundo entendimento da obra de Tuan pensamos ser importante, primeiramente, decompor seus elementos constituintes. Assim, trouxemos à luz suas principais influências e matrizes de pensamento, por meio de um extenso levantamento dos autores que cita e as discussões que fomenta entre a fenomenologia-existencialista, o estruturalismo, o humanismo e a própria geografia. A riqueza de seu pensamento é fruto da aguda erudição e de seu livre-pensar. Por isso, procuramos compreender como Tuan trata as essências principais, por meio dos debates e significações acerca do espaço, lugar, paisagem, meio ambiente, tempo, entre outras. Verificamos, ao realizar a leitura da obra que, além das essências, Tuan também tem temas privilegiados que persistem ao longo de seus quase cinquenta e cinco anos de geografia, como percepção, atitudes, comportamento, arte e cultura entre outros. A maneira como o autor os aborda também foi objeto de exposição nesta tese. Ao mesmo tempo, identificamos outros temas-chave, mas que não persistem por toda a sua carreira, eles são ora frutos do jovem Tuan como é o caso do estudo dos aspectos físicos em geografia ora reflexos de uma mente mais amadurecida em um mundo que se globaliza, como por exemplo, na abordagem do progresso ou do placelessness. Então, para que pudéssemos ter a compreensão do percurso da obra e suas temáticas, recompusemos o todo por meio de argumentações acerca de cada um de seus livros, considerados aqui como sínteses ainda que incompletas de seus argumentos. Tuan é sobretudo um humanista, que acredita na educação libertária da mente humana e que compõe toda uma geografia em busca da essência humana. Conhecer, portanto, a geografia, é conhecer a nós mesmos. Desta forma, finalmente, voltamos ao impulso inicial desta tese: compreender que é geografia para um de seus pensadores contemporâneos mais influentes e as contribuições que esta geografia tem para dar ao mundo. / The constant reflection on itself is one of most important characteristic of science, this is the way to develop and search the understanding of new realities and weave the ways of improving the world views. Giving that, geography could not avoid permanent self reflexiveness. One of the ways to pursue the paths in which Geography has been walking is to know great geographers works, especially those who had deeply contributed with highly innovative and broadening new horizons into the geographical science. This thesis, then, is the product of a thorough exploration into Yi-Fu Tuans geography, one of the humanist geography founders. His reflections have enriched and, furthermore, proposed to open geography to new approaches and themes: to his mostly known conceptions about space and place, we add discussions on values, moral, escapism, human goodness, dominance of pets, cosmopolitanism, community and self. To get a deep insight into Tuans work it was necessary to decompose its elements. Therefore, his main influences and matrices of thought were brought to light through an extensive survey into his work, research on the authors whom he quotes over, regarding the discussions he foments amongst Phenomenologyexistentialism, Structuralism, Humanism and Geography itself. The richness of his thoughts is a result of acute erudition and his free-thinking. Therefore, this thesis seeks to comprehend how Tuan copes with the main essences through debates and meanings of space, place, landscape, environment, time, and so on. Through the reading of his work that we verified that, besides to essences, Tuan also has other privileged themes, he has kept debating during his almost fifty five years of geographical study, such as perception, attitudes, behavior, arts and culture, amongst others. The way the author approaches the themes was also explored throughout this thesis. Meanwhile, other key subjects were identified in his work, which, however, are not persistent during his whole career. Among them some are products of the young Tuan as it is the case of the studies on the physical aspects in geography others are reflections of a globalized world over a mature mind, as an example, the approach of progress or placelessness. To achieve the lengthiness of his work and its themes, we chose to review each book, considering that they are syntheses although incomplete of his arguments. Above all, Tuan is a humanist, who believes in the free education of the human mind, and who makes a complete geography in the search of human essence. Knowing geography is, therefore, understanding ourselves. Thus, we finally turn back to the prior impulse of this thesis: understanding what geography is to one of its most influential thinkers and the contributions that this geography has to offer the world.
