No. of bitstreams: 1 Vania Braz 3.pdf: 3089749 bytes, checksum: 453c94e43ab71f17d6ed6a3012651cfe (MD5) Previous issue date: 2016-03-31 / The postmodern consumer, inserted in a new communication environment, enhances their expressions, which are able to assess a brand or product and convey their opinion by social networks, ie, consumers can express their opinions and desires, dialogue with peers in a spontaneous way in social medias. It is in this atmosphere of participation and interaction (cyberspace) which is our object of study, the word of mouth online - the voice of the contemporary consumer, also known as a personal informative demonstration or talk, opinion sharing. Provided by consumers in social medias, word of mouth is strengthened depending on possibilities of interaction, characteristic of the network society. In this scenario, the objective of this research is to characterize the wordofmouth online as a new flow of communication among consumers, today enhanced by new communication technologies, able to change the brand awareness and demonstrate the use, by the marks,of the social medias even as a one-way communication environment. Through three cases selected by convenience (two national and international cases), our research analysis corpus was limited to the 5,084 comments made available after the publication of newspaper articles in Portal G1 and the fanpages (Facebook), both relating to selected cases. The Analysis of Content of posts allowed us to identify and categorize this contemporary consumer’speech, and this made possible to verify that the organizations / brands make use of the mass culture:they don’t dialogue with their customers because they use social medias yet unidirectional, in addition they do not give due attention to the current flow which puts in evidence the shared opinion of consumers of this network society.

Identifying specific line balancing criteria for an efficient line balancing software : A case Study

Dhanpal Harinath, Shravan, Siddique, Shakeel January 2018 (has links)
For any business, surviving in a competitive market while maintaining all the operational performance indices up to mark is very crucial. There are several theories and techniques to improve the efficiency of the operational performances. Line balancing is one of those well practiced techniques used daily in most of the industries. Line balancing helps balance the assembly lines with regards to man, machine, takt times, etc. This thesis research was done with Electrolux laundry systems, Ljungby in Sweden. With the varying customer demands the case company was balancing its line manually using basic methods. As a part of lean development schemes, Electrolux Ljungby, wanted to transform the line balancing techniques from manual to a fully automated software. The purpose of this research is to determine the company-specific line balancing criteria which should be considered before performing line balancing. This research furthermore lays out a guideline to follow a smooth transition from the manual system of LB to an automated software by concluding the features the software must handle to perform the LB according to required objectives. A case study approach was utilized to collect all the required data to achieve the results. Using the data collection techniques such as interviews, observations and historical analysis we arrived at the data required to design the guidelines with regards to line balancing software features.  The findings suggest that the desired line balancing constraints which are very important in the multi model single sided straight-line balancing problems are flow of materials, assembly precedence, physical constraints, product demand, bill of materials, restricted processes, man power and desired line balancing objectives. Keeping these constraints into consideration the features which are desired in an onlooking line balancing software are the Integration of data and documents/ maximum control, mixed model and option intelligence and analysis, multiple resources, smart variant management, scenario management, yamazumi chart, constraints and reporting tabs. The findings of this thesis can be used as guidelines by any manufacturing industry while they consider buying a new software which can handle Line balancing problems. This research is one of its kind which talks purely about the constraints and desired features only in a specific line balancing scenario. Practitioners can use this as a base for conducting further research on constraints and features pertaining to it, for different line balancing scenarios.

Sochor, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
The master´s thesis deals with the design of medium voltage power line protection and the calculation of reliability indicators. First, it deals with the possibilities of power system operation. Subsequently, it divides the networks according to the grounding of the transformer node and the switching elements and devices occurring in the MV distribution network are mentioned. It presents the basic classification of power line protection and its use, especially it focuses on overhead and cable MV power lines. It also discusses the reliability of the power supply and lists the basic reliability indicators and their possible calculation. The practical part describes the changes in the considered area of the distribution network, where the reconstruction of the power line VN872 and a new way of powering the village Drnholec will take place. The impact of this change on the reliability of the supplied energy is also calculated. Furthermore, the protection of the power line is designed and the correctness of its setting is then verified on the model in the PSS Sincal software.

Analýza toků jalového výkonu v distribuční soustavě / Load flow analyses of reactive power in distribution system

Krátký, Michal January 2014 (has links)
This thesis is focused on issues with transmission of reactive power though the distribution line of E.ON area. The goal is to find out where and in what rate are overflows of reactive power and to project the correctional steps to minimize this overflow. In this solution, there were used data of dispatcher measurement, which were processed by created source code in Matlab. The processing was analyzed for final conclusion. There were discovered shortages in overflow of reactive power in transfer between distribution and transmission line and in unsuitably regulated capacity power factor in Planá power plant and wrong automatic regulation of turns in 440/110kV substation Dasný. The action to minimize overflows of reactive power was projected by decompensation reactor placed in T101 and T102 transformers in substation Tábor.

Al-Said, Dana January 2021 (has links)
This is a bachelor thesis which handles a balancing problem in a manual assembly line for mixed models. Many product variations that are assembled in an assembly line have different cycle times in each operation in the process. The products that are assembled in the line have also large variations in their lead times. This leads to large balancing losses leading to reduced productivity and efficiency. Many balancing losses occur due to the inefficient time that one of the products causes. Other balancing losses occur due to bottlenecks that occur in some operations. The purpose of this study is to investigate the balancing losses in a manual assembly line with mixed models. The goal is to develop a proposal for a balanced layout, as well as to minimize balancing losses and waste and maximize productivity as much as possible. Two research questions have been developed as guidelines for the study: RQ1: What factors can lead to balancing losses in a mixed-model assembly line? RQ2: How can a mixed-model assembly line be balanced without leading to other types of losses? The study is a case study that looks for problems in one case company. It is based on a literature study and the collection of real-world data, which has been collected at the case company by observations, interviews and documents that include data about production times and balancing reports.  A proposal on how balancing losses can be reduced in the best possible way has been developed. The inefficient time has been reduced and the assembly line has become more efficient and productive. With help of this improvement proposal, other types of losses could be avoided, such as losses of human resources and financial resources. This study aimed to reduce the balancing losses that one product causes in the assembly line. No rebalancing of the other products was done, but other products were considered so that the balancing of the product does not lead to extra imbalance on the other products in the line. It was important for the fall company to be able to implement a solution that does not lead to a lot of other losses. Based on the three solutions proposed, this solution was the most suitable for what the company wants. A new layout for the product’s stations has been proposed. With this layout, efficiency will increase, and downtime will decrease, thus increasing productivity. Proposal three shows that it is possible to balance a mixed-model assembly line, by terminating a product and removing it earlier from the assembly line. Nyckelord: Line balancing, manuell montering, balanseringsförluster, mixed products, mixed-model assembly line.

On-Line Teaching and Learning: A Description of the Development of The Media Technology and Diversity Online Course and Its Electronic Discourse analysis

Hegngi, Yolanda Nokuri 15 April 1997 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to examine and describe the events of the first iteration of the Media Technology and Diversity course with an in-depth analysis of its electronic discourse. In conceptualizing the viable alternatives for delivering college-level distance education via on-line technologies, Harasim (1990) cautions that the mere introduction of computer mediated communication "does not in itself improve learning; design (or method) is crucial" (p. xx). The role of instructional design as the cornerstone of all effective instruction is relevant as new technologies are used in teaching and learning. The MTD distance education course content was delivered via the World Wide Web, where the course homepage was the on-line classroom and e-mail and Webchat communication supported participants' interaction. The participants of the study were the instructors and teaching assistants, as well as the undergraduate and graduate students who took the course. The electronic archive data, student assignments, and follow-up interviews with participants provided multiple data points for analysis. The Webchat archive data was analyzed using the NUD.DIST qualitative research software to sort and produce descriptive statistics. The analysis of e-mail and Webchat discourse revealed that participant interaction differed between media types and between asynchronous and scheduled the Webchat discussions. The differences were temporal, topical, and structural. Student initiated thought-provoking Webchat dialogue yet on-line content delivery, course structure, and reliability of computer systems reduced student participation in on-line discourse and course activities. Significantly, lessons learned from the design of the MTD experience indicate that on-line course development requires advance technical skill and accessible instructional technologies. Instructional designers should develop course materials with the end-users' lowest common denominator technologies to increase participation and learning opportunities. The lessons learned from the electronic discourse analysis indicate that the WWW is a very complex instructional environment that requires carefully designed pedagogical activities and interaction. Research results indicate that where as asynchronous Webchat discussions encourage students to initiate conversation topics, the overall participation in on-line discourse is low. On the other hand, scheduled Webchat discussions promote lengthy and more thought-provoking discussions, but students generally respond to instructor-posted questions or topics. / Ph. D.
